Mikel is one of those type of players like Kalou, who can do wondeful things then the next minute he looks like he's never seen a football before in his life. I would rather have him in our team that not....lets just put it like that. He has a tendancy to be a bit of a hothead and he needs to learn to stop flying into tackles. He can be his own worst enemy at times.

If you're in the public eye then you're there for the taking imo. Thats the way the media operate. I dont think it has affected the relationship of the players. This came out a while back and alot of people within the club and other folk obviously knew about it and were told to keep it under wraps. If it hadn't of came to light we'd be none the wiser and the unity of the players wouldnt be questioned as they appear to be right behind one another. What it has done is put a black mark against him as a person. If he does get stripped of the captaincy for England then I would understand why. He's an iconic figure and kids will look up to him. Wether or not it will affect his Chelsea captaincy remains to be seen....I dont think it will come to that, but the first 50/50 between Terry and Bridge will be interesting to say the least.

He's not being prosecuted....just slated in the papers for shagging around when he should have known better. If you're talking about in general ie...rape(Which JT is not being accused of)....then as far as I'm aware the vast majority of rapes go unreported,and those that do its something like 90% in favour of the accused as its one persons word against another.

Legend or not.....what he's apparently done is bang out of order. From what I've read about this, there was a court injunction put in place to stop the story being released by the press. JT was banging Waynes then Mrs and they broke up around December time which was when the injunction came about. Its going to be plastered all over the papers over the next few days and theres talk of JT being strippedof the England captaincy. You dont go around banging your best mates Mrs...even if they were their ex, its an unwritten rule that you dont break. Ex's are a no go area.

I watched a bit of him during the ACON and he looked knackered tbh, I'd definately bring him back in for the Arsenal game. He was banging in the goals regularly before he went so it would be hard not to play him. Its a situation I'm glad we have......(considering leaving Drogba on the bench). Just watched the highlights there on football first....All I can say is WOW !!!! Birmingham are no easy touch, especially the way they are playing right now. That was the first time I've actually seen him look interested in a game. He was everywhere tonight and getting stuck in when it mattered. Well done wee man. Obviously its good to have him abck....I thought he looked absolutely snattered against Algeria. I'd keep him fresh for the Arsenal game alone. He needs a bit of a breather imo. we should be able to cope for a few more games without him.

In 2004 I dont think the pressure was as great and we were just playing football for the fun of it and got rewarded in the end for playing with no fear. Now I think theres more pressure on us to succeed on all fronts. We've kept the spine of the team...Cech, JT, Lampard and Drogba. That has been vital imo to why we've been consistent over the last few years. Many teams would have fallen away by now to mid table obscurity. The mindset of the squad built up by Jose has also carried us through alot of difficult times, especially under the Grant and Scolari era. Even today Joses influence is still evident.

Isnt it a tradition on forums that when you get made up to a Mod you can ban a mamber of your choice ?

I wasnt online for the game so I dont know if this was discussed in the match thread. Carlo Ancelotti is not a foolish man. He would have been well aware of the 4-3-3 formation and its effectiveness with the current squad. Its been tried and tested and brought us plenty of success prior to his arrival. We could easily have played the diamond formation and ground out another professional result, but we went 4-3-3 and pissed all over Sunderland. Ok they were shit, but you can only beat whats in front of you. So with that in mind it got me thinking what his motives were for changing things around. (I dont know if he's mentioned this in an interview or not as Its only just popped into my head. I'm a bit random like that ) Yes we have Drogba, Essien, Mikel and Kalou away on ACON duty, but with the squad we have we dont really need to change that much due to their short stint away. Sturridge, J.Cole, Malouda and Borrini are all capable of playing in a forward position for one game here or there and keep to his "tried and tested" formation, Belletti can play the holding role as hes shown on many occasions. Ballack & Lampard either side of the midfield and someone at the point. Is this something we're going to be seeing more of in the future ? I for one would love to see us batter teams every week, but its good to know that if need be we can switch formation with ease. We know he (Ancelotti) loves the Champions League and with the knock out phase coming close, I suspect he's trying a few things now to prepare us for the tougher games that lie ahead. Its better to try things now so that when it matters you dont make a panic decision and throw a game away. Which brings me back to my first point. Carlo Ancelotti is not a foolish man. Anyone who had any doubts about him, put them to bed now. He knows exactly what he is doing.

Joe Cole of 2-3 season ago yes. If he gets back to that form he'll be a big player for us in the remaining few months of the season and also for England in South Africa. Right now I think he's trying too hard to get involved in games. He was brilliant yesterday, so hopefully thats him turned the corner. When Joe Cole is on form theres few better.
