  1. You say you disagree but seem to say the same ''the squad is impressive, but the players together do not work, not because they are not good players''. Robben and Duff are gone, they're not half as good without exemplary managership. They're pretty average now at their respective clubs ? We only started to go up a gear yesterday when our arses were against the wall, but fundamentally I cant see much wrong with the squad I know you didn't want this thread to be about Grant, but I dont think you can hide from the biggest flaw of all for ever.
  2. There will be changes in the Summer, and hopefully a manager is top of the list. 4-4-2 would have worked with drogba and Anelka with these behind on Sunday Cole-Lampard-Ballack-SWP. But with Anelka on the wing -quite innefective. I cant see too much wrong with the squad tbh. What IS lacking is inspiration, hunger, motivation, and discipline in not losing the ball. These things cant be replaced by changing the players, it's for a top caoch to acquire through experience, qualification and mutual respect.
  3. The rot would never set in immediately -it takes a while for the lack of leadership and inspiration to fester. But now the disjointedness is there. Random lineups and substitutions. No coordination, passes going all over the shop -and the club awash with personnel just leeching off Romans millions. Only lost three games since the Toad was instigated -but what a three. Arsenal, ManUtd , and a Cup final. Roman for fucks sake, cut the strings from your puppet.
  4. "We tried to score a goal and keep it tight but we lost." said Grant. Oh so this is the ''attacking, exciting football'' approach is it ??
  5. I think CM 2000, myself, Mischief and Pluto who've all along said grant was a complete waste of space have been vindicated, and other people seem to be coming round to that way of thinking now. Sunday: Suspensions - None African Nation Absentees - None Injuries - None Yids : Better than us? Excuses - NONE.
  6. He can fuck off back to Pompey and put the cones out. -better still give him the M25 to do. In the dark. With no fluorescent jacket
  7. We had joy, we had blisss, we had trophies we could kiss, But they chucked it away for a cunt whos' missus swallows piss
  8. The more faces he has around I suppose he thinks the more chance of success, and he can sack one or two and blame them when things go wrong.
  9. At the end of 90 I was watching Poyet go from player to player, inspiring and firing them up. The camera switched to the Chelsea group, Terry attempting to do the same, Grant behind him looking sheepish doing the usual head scratching. Even when he tries to talk to the players, like when giving Ballack instructions, it's clear from the body language that theres no rapport, no respect. We have very expensive, quality players, but that alone is not enough - they need some kind of leadership, direction, someone they can respect - not some monotone, unintelligble, unqualified, money grabbing fraud.
  10. Be interesting to see what lineup is put out, thats for sure. For those lucky enough to be going -the tube is in it's usual state of chaos on Sunday , so leave early. I've heard a lot of police leave is cancelled -there'll be quite a few 'offs' as they say, Football Factory wannabes and balding middle aged blokes acting like film hoolies.
  11. I got famous on the back of ManUtds treble, please like me
  12. From this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaNThXSn1E0 to this Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has been detained under the Mental Health Act following an incident at a hotel in Newcastle. Northumbria Police said a 40-year-old man was detained following an incident of disorderly behaviour at the Malmaison Hotel early on Wednesday. Officers later visited Mr Gascoigne at Gateshead's Hilton Hotel after concerns were raised about his behaviour. Police said he was not in custody and was now receiving medical treatment. BBC Tragic really -would consider him a football genius, and with others Best , Osgood, Maradonna etc the booze/drugs takes a grip when the playing days subside.
  13. Maybe, but I'm sure it's because the media has given Chelsea a Russianmafia/newkidsontheblock/spiv/loadsamoney type spin on things, unlike the 'established' clubs with 'history'.
  14. Agree, it's over the top and don't wish him dead. More likely to die from drinking his missus piss I'd have thought. First I thought the timing of the press release was 'coincidental' what with the Olympiakos performance, in an effort to deflect from his shortcomings, and elicit sympathy. Cynical, moi ? But you're right, can see his days being numbered -but maybe he's not that worried - a four year contact worth £4.5 million a year means he'll be paid off anyway, which I imagine is his main concern.
  15. He's certainly starting to prove himself in the managers role. Top clubs seem to have an array of coaches and managers nowadays, I would say at the moment we have at least two, Clarke and Ten Cates, and theres no reason why Wise couldn't fulfil one of those roles in the future
  16. Wheres that from ? Anyway -Funny how ManUtd attract praise for spotting and snapping up a nine year old and Arsenal get away with 'acquiring' young kids. Even Messi was 'signed' to Barca at age 12. I suppose its because they're great clubs and we're not.
  17. The Independent is saying he's going to leave Terry and Lampard benched on Sunday. Bizarre to say the least.
  18. Yeah or; We Had Joy, we had Bliss, we had trophies we could kiss, Now all we have is Grant, and his missus drinking piss.
  19. Oh yeah, sorry *taps nose* His missus had one as well apparently. That was Esk.
  20. CM wouldnt do anything like that. Not after last time. Mourinho ? That white powder would have been for Mutu anyway, they probably posted it on.
  21. Very few games as satisfying as that one.
  22. From the Times; A police source confirmed that the note to Grant, 52, included the words: "You are a back-stabbing Jewish b******. Tottenham fans ?? Grant had quite a few death threats from fans in 2000 when in Israel as well.
  23. That looks probable, though I've a feeling Joe Cole will start and Anelka will be sub
