  1. Crazy money and Real madrid will probably be trophyless again next term A lot of this cash will go to the bank. The money borrowed by the Glazers to buy United was £550 million odd. Interest on these loans meant ManUtd actually made a loss of £27 million last year. All this talk of them being a rich club is built on sand...
  2. Untouchable on his day, unfortunately when he was touched he turned into Bambi on ice. Hiddink might have wanted him, but the bloke is too much of a liability who can spend three quarters of a season in the treatment room
  3. Would be an excellent acquisition. Ultimately, the last word would be with Berlusconi. None of the Shevchenko, Kaka stuff happened without his sanctioning . Wrong in my book, Spanish and Italian leagues have regular government interference...
  4. Think its really good when they spend all this dosh then Barca pan them in the league. Imagine if Chelsea or Man Utd was partly subsidised by the taxpayer !
  5. Hope he goes to Madrid tbh, as we could do with someone younger and hungrier -and he probably will as they have financial clout more than anyone -partly subsidised by the Spanish government....
  6. Good report BL and what a present for your old man ! Fantastic day, fantastic weather -well for watching anyway, not sure about playing. Hope you're all having a drink tonight toasting Gus n the boys, and lets look forward to bashing fergies freaks in the Charity Shield......
  7. One ominous sign; Todays ref is Howard Webb. After the game he is meeting one of his best mates and they are flying off to South Africa -his mate is ..................Tom Ovrebo the Norwegian CL Semi ref !!
  8. DEJECTED MAN UTD FANS MAKE LONG JOURNEY BACK TO SURREY THOUSANDS of despondent Manchester United supporters returned to the Home Counties last night after the club's Champions League final defeat in Rome. It was a very special trip for United's army of Audrey Hepburn fans Carrying nothing more than some truffle oil, a tin of Calabrian tuna and a bottle of really lovely Tuscan red, the United fans said if it wasn't for the glorious detail in the Trevi Fountain the whole trip would have been a total disaster. Godalming based-supporter Julian Cook said: "I've been a die-hard fan since they started winning things, so I was terribly miffed at the end. "But then we came across this gorgeous little trattoria just off the Via Della Vicenza that did the most exquisite Asparago di Veneto. I felt like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday." But Martin Bishop, from Dorking, accused champions Barcelona of cheating. "They kept hanging on to the ball and wouldn't give it back. It was just so blatant." He added: "I was really very angry at the time, but then I thought of all that wonderful Catalan architecture and found it within myself to forgive them." Uefa president Michel Platini hailed the game as, 'a triumph for the sponsors, hospitality suites, television residual broadcast revenue and, to some extent, Barcelona'. Meanwhile the Catalan club made history by fielding the first Champion's League winner grown from a petri dish. Barca coach Ian Guardiola, said: "When he came to us as boy, Messi was no bigger than my thumb. But bathing him daily in monkey brain growth serum grew him into the unstoppable dwarf he is today."
  9. He won the 2004-05 UEFA Cup with PFC CSKA Moscow, scoring in the final itself. He mainly plays as an attacking left winger although he can play as a left back or left wingback. His trickery and abundance of creativity makes him one of CSKA Moscow's and Russia's most prized assets. He is also a very hard working player who often tracks back and is a solid marker and sliding tackler.
  10. Can play anywhere down the left, and we never really replaced Bridge. Best option for me down the left is the two Coles, but if Ashley Cole is injured, Zirkhov can fill in nicely. Got to rate Hiddinks opinion...
  11. He has certainly revitalised the team and shows what could have been acomplished this season with a consistent coach that the team want to play for -PL, CL and domestic cups -even without Joe Cole. As for his return, it would be good, but his age is aginst him now and personnel would have moved on and new ones come in. Still, hes been the dogs bollocks since hes been here...
  12. I feel the complete opposite and that Chelsea are going to win this emphatically. The cup has CFC on it, and I'm sticking shed loads of cash on a win. (Well, £50 anyway)
  13. Chelsea deserve better, someone who gets the measure of Barca tactically over tywo legs. The club have had their fair share of Scolaris, Average Grants -I'd have Hiddink or Mourinho over the red nosed masticator anyday....
  14. Always rated Ribery, but the downside is the story is in the Daily Lie. We'll see.
  15. Fairly average in my book. Any bully with cash can get results. Gus had the measure of Barca over two legs, Ferguson was clueless last night with personnel another manager could have won with, had he any tactical nous
  16. £20million not to be taken literally. Just indicative of cash hes spunked away on people like Josemi, Nunez, Morientes, Kronkamp, Gonzalez, Bellamy, Itanje, Pennant, =£50 million + ...oh and £20 million for Keane. The jury is still out on Babel
  17. BENITEZ HANDED £20m TO PISS STRAIGHT UP A WALL LIVERPOOL coach Rafael Benitez was last night handed a £20m transfer budget to spend on one big-name signing or shit away on a collection of abject losers that you've never heard of. Will Benitez just spend it all on lovely sweets? In the wake of a strong title challenge the club's owners want to reward the Anfield support with a range of exciting new faces for them to dismiss as utterly useless by mid-August. Benitez said: "The squad clearly needs several additions and there are some great prospects out there. However, I do also have my eye on a 300-foot-high mountain of penny chews." Despite successful signings such as Torres and Mascherano, Benitez was criticised in 2007 for paying £13m for a small lump of organic matter that, given 240 million years, may evolve into useful utility left-back. This followed his 2006 signing of Roy Of The Rovers, who, despite his numerous accolades and undoubted skill, was obviously a fictional character and therefore ineligible to play in the Champion's League. Sources suggest Benitez will spend the entire budget on Carlos Tevez and has already ordered a set of stout metal chains and a daily supply of steaming lumps of meat. The Liverpool boss has told friends he can end Manchester United's dominance by spending an enormous amount of money on a player they have deemed surplus to requirements for quite some time. But Benitez's plans may be thwarted by Manchester City, whose billionaire owners plan to buy every sentient creature on the planet in an audacious £74 billion swoop. City boss Mark Hughes said: "Once I control all the legs there are, I do think we've got a realistic chance of a top six finish."

  19. Agree with that. The players retirement home Serie A, where the pace is slow and the sun sets slowly is a real possiblity for Carvalho -back with his old manager. Mikel is worth hanging on to,and Mancienne needs games. If theyre on about Mikel and Carvalho for £21 million they're having a laugh when Alonso is touted at £23 million.....
  20. Average manager with the best array of scouts and financial resources, bully, hypocrite, now that is a fact. Carling dont do horrible cunts, but if they did, Ferguson would be right up there
  21. The apology is a PR execise. All power to the Drogs, it WAS a fucking disgrace
  22. Hiddink was getting a lot of support today. Quite funny when he was bowing Glad Anelka scored -it means hes level with Riverdance for the Golden Boot -he needs to score at Sunderland to stop that fairy getting it
  23. Hes had massive resources over the years, has manipulated referees and officials, and bullied players. Not really interested in the old pissheads backhanded comments. ..
  24. Definitley do not want this bloke -even Rijkaard looks 10 times a better bet
