Damn, that ghost is freaking fast.

He didn't even start against West Brom away last season. I'm pretty sure he was rested for the Juventus game and came on probably around the 70th min mark. Honestly I'm not getting this logic at all. You're basically saying that because Mata played in the games where we lost to teams like West Ham so therefore he wouldn't then have made much of a difference this season - I just think that's really flawed thinking. You're reducing a player's importance based on loses, which are dependent on many factors. Hazard doesn't become useless to us because he was on the pitch when we lost against Crystal Palace. Matic's influence in the team doesn't become irrelevant because he played when we lost to Villa. That's just like arguing that since Messi played when Barcelona lost to Real Valladolid and Granada, so therefore the team isn't any better with Messi. Not buying this argument.

Clearly I'm experiencing early onset Alzheimer's..... When did any of those teams beat us with Mata playing?
-
Oh come on guys don't attack Moses! He also said this.... Honestly I don't think he likes it there at all. Most liverpool fans think he's looked uninterested all season and that he rather be back at Chelsea.
-
I'm sure Jose will rotate but I highly doubt he's going to play Christensen or Hilario.
-
He looks so different without his helmet. Weird.

Real Madrid have been a fantastic counter attacking side since Mourinho took over. Some madridistas might disagree but I think Ancelotti is reaping the benefits of years of work Mourinho put into this side.

I'm not exactly thrilled at how defensive we were against Atleti (I doubt many Chelsea supporters are) but I just find it so hilarious how outrage some rival fans and pundits were by our performance. Some of them are literally seething, one would think that we just committed a horrendous crime against humanity. People have this perception about Chelsea and are fully committed to believing that narrative regardless of whatever we do. At the end of the day I think we just can't let these people make us feel that we should be embarrassed by yesterday's performance and that Chelsea supporters shouldn't be proud of their team. Where were these cries of "negative football" when City played exactly the same way against Barca at the Etihad or when Arsenal did the same not only at the Allianz Arena but also when they played Dortmund away? Arsenal were stationed in their half for the majority of the game and only registered their only shot on target towards the end. Truth is, if it were so easy to do what we did yesterday then we wouldn't be the only English club left in the competition, now would we?

I think 18m for Schurrle was decent business. He has 7 goals and one assist in 13 starts. In addition to that he's also put in big performances - the super cup match against Bayern ( where he assisted Torres' goal) and also his performance at home against PSG. What else do you want from a squad player?
-
Think he'll be out for a few weeks.....
-
Maybe he's using whatever interest Utd might have as a bargaining tool to strengthen his position at the club? Hope so. The whole thing was just so weird..... "I'm only the manger, I do whatever Roman Abramovich wants". What's that all about?
-
Hope you're right. Hopefully Roman isn't becoming over-controlling. That was the impression I got from those comments, but probably just another one of Mourinho's mind games.
-
Interesting post match comments from Mourinho. Basically said he'll field a B-team unless Roman overrules it and then went on about how he's only the manager and nothing more. I don't know. Something unsettling about those comments. Hope there aren't any internal problems.

Completely agree.

The tactics would make more sense if we had an outlet, someone who can carry the ball forward. We do have that in Willian but we're not using him. Instead of just hoofing it to Torres, the plan should be to find Willian who can then use his pace and dribbling abilities to transition. Willian needs to be a lot more involved.
-
I haven't checked, so I could be wrong but isn't our goal difference a lot better than theirs? We'd have to lose two games or drop points in all three remaining games for them to overtake us.

Indeed.

Do it. I'll chip in.

Everyone. Practically all the newspapers are reporting it.

The bizarre part about that Mata situation was how some on here kept blaming him for our poor league form in the past two seasons much in the same way people are now blaming our strikers for losses against Sunderland, Villa, Crystal Palace etc. Such simplistic thinking, it's unreal. Mata scored 12 goals and 12 assists in an under-performing team, sad how people just dis-valued that.

One season wonder just like Blackburn in '95. Totally not bitter.
-
3-1. Sterling again. It's the hope that kills you.
-
Alex Ferguson retires, Utd fall out of the top 4 and Liverpool go on to win the title after finishing 7th & 8th in the proceeding two seasons. You really couldn't make this shit up.
-
Probably the inevitable 5-1 scoreline with Luiz Suarez scoring a hat trick. As much as we all hate Liverpool, the truth is they have less talent than us but yet the quality of their offensive play is far superior than ours. If this were us, we'd be hoofing the ball around and taking random pot shots.

Sure. Scoring from anywhere in the attacking third is not 'impossible', it wouldn't even have been impossible for Willian to score a goal from the position he was in. But there're obviously areas where the chances of a goal is more likely and looking at where Eto'o was and looking at where Salah was, I think Salah was in a better goal scoring position. But look dude you're free to disagree, right? I promise I'll survive. My life will go on.
