Our pivot - or the lack of it due to amazingly slow conversion (also defensively) and build up (offensively) is putting a 'hold' on this team. Our worst problem is a good dm(6). Many might disagree but i feel we need to integrate the attacking part of the pivot as well. We are just too slow, only to speed up when mazacar gets the ball. As @alex rightly points out: a striker is not so much a superrrrrrr crucial function in our team. We need it - but the c(d)m is waaayyyyy more important. Also, we need future defensive options (be it loanees breaking through or a Varane :-) As I said .... Just imagine Witsel and Oscar in the pivot - with Hazard, Mata, Kdb? Up front ... Anyone, with Lukaku coming in at 60' Yes!

Well .... That was a time he played amc ... A 10. It IS his best position. He needs the ball a LOT to perform. I also believe he can switch the flank/central role with Mata. That is a brilliant combo as we have seen. I fear for Oscar at 10 in Chelsea to be frank. He will be brilliant at it - i however believe Hazard will be more brillant at it sooner, thus cementing that poition in alternation with Hazard.I see him as an 8 ..... World class 8.

True ... he had to learn that though. Vincent was waaaaaaaaaay to offensive back in Belgium and Germany. He was even played out for the NT in the midfield , quite like what is happening here now with Luiz. I can see him operating with a dominant CB and easing into a CB role. Also, I think the discipline Mourinho is going to demand of him will settle in .... so I hope :-)

I do think it has to do with us being spoiled by Mata and Hazard (and Oscar to some degree) .... We should not show too much hybris , player like Isco would add something. REALLY. HOW good he will become, nobody knows and that is a fact. But it is one exciting young guy.

Regardless of this discussion - which I find futile - I do rate Isco very highly. I think he is one exciting young talent .... Just think what he could accomplish with Mata, Hazard and Oscar. Then again I am such a sucker for young flair players - still he seems to me the real thing and I would NOT mind him here. ps: NO predictions made about him, mind you.

I really don't get it. When I just joined here I saw a LOT of people going on about his defensive mistakes, judgement errors and so on - but watching all the games actually continuously made me think this was a bandwagon opinion based on previous (more youthful) performances. The surplus Luiz adds in general play vastly outweighs the occasional lack of judgement. By the way ... as a Belgian .... Kompany and Verthongen also do that. Still! So what do we want actually ? A perfect defender? Welcome to Narnia. Let's not replace our best CB - but instead add young talent. I swear Luiz will even be better next season. Like good wines ages with years.

Im talking about this post of yours in my previous post Toronto ..... 'Barely' is bullshit. Sorry to say. Have you actually watched Genk and Kevin from 2009-2011 back in Genk? I did, you obviously didn't. Thats why I say you confuze your opinion with fact. He did play there regularly. I think @hamilton on here also watches a lot of Genk and will surely confirm. Also Kevin is born in my hometown - local boy here.... During his youth years he played rw a lot as well. The handfull national team performances you kinda denigratingly talk about with so much aplomb were performances where he actually was the best of the whole qualifying campaign- the engine of the entire team. And yes, on the right wing. I'd say he is an accomlished right winger allright, the best we have actually. Not because he ALWAYS plays there or because he played there for years in a top CL team, but because he PERFORMS there. See the difference? Anyway .... Thats why i said, not this again. Its like a broken record playing the same tune over and over. Back on topic.

De Bruyne played 3 games on the right last season. He's barely played on the right in his career and I don't care too much about a handful of national team performances. Like any of the players, he can play on the right, it's just not where he's used to playing and not his natural position. Really? Again this. He played a LOT there in Genk before Manager Been came.
