Lavia will again look awesome in his first match or two back and then he will mysteriously vanish from sight for 3 weeks after which it will be announced that he got injured again.

Rosenoir will probably be told to say that Lavia and Anselmino are like new signings so we didn’t need to bring anyone in at his next press conference.

Lol Simon Phillips summed up
Maybe Palmer is going, maybe he isnt, time will tell. Genius.

Said before it reminds me of the Xavi Simons pursuit where we kept throwing in bids well below what the other club asked for, they held firm, and then the player goes elsewhere.
That ended up working out for us so far as Xavi has been a bust. But if we end up with nobody here and have to depend on Badiashile and Tosin to play significant roles the rest of the season I think we’re asking for trouble.

He definitely wouldn’t be the same player he was when we had him, you’re right. But he wouldn’t be asked to cover every blade of grass like he was last time since Caicedo would be next to him.

kante is needed not only for the pitch but also for a little bit of leadership and as a locker room presence.

Seeing Kante and Caicedo in the same midfield would be the stuff of dreams even if he’s now nearly 35.

Ngolo Kante all day all night anytime instead of these boring tattoed bearded clowns.
I don't know how is he doing these days(on 2024 Euros he was pretty good) but I would be super happy to watch Kante even just walk around the field.

Yep, we got our reason for the Douglas Luiz move. Essugo looks like he’s going to be a permanent crock just like Lavia.
Both should be sold this summer and replaced with Wharton/Elliot.

So hang on, let me get this straight.
We are replacing an injury prone player (Lavia) with a player that has missed 11 games this season already?
Clownlake ladies and gentlemen.

These are the kind of games where Rosenior can show he's better than Maresca.
I.e. get a good result when you're expected to. Not because Palace is a weaker team., but because of the turmoil they're in
Hopefully it won't be true to Chelsea form where we throw away a good opportunity

On the other hand, how many times have we seen Chelsea come up against a team who are in a terrible run of form or in the midst of chaos and provide them with the perfect antidote?

this is the best time to face them

We need a striker, Delap is driving me nuts I want him gone, and sorry to say Guiu just hasn't improved, and as for Joao Pedro I don't know what he is.

yes, Sarr and Anselmino make not getting Jacquet a less bitter pill to swallow (if we do not get him over the line), especially from what I have seen of Sarr
The one CB I simply cannot get over not grabbing was Huijsen. Losing out on him was a gut shot, no doubt.
The only thing that made it a tiny tiny bit better was that it was Real Madrid, one of only 2 clubs (Barca of course being the other) that we will lose out to almost everytime (when they REALLY want a player), due to global players' dreams.
Now, those two clubs aside, we, Chels, are number 3 on the 'dreams list' for yoing players globally, after them. The only exception might be some Italians who want to stay in Italy (basically Inter/AC/Juve), but those players are RARE (as an example, look now, even Bastoni is starting to hint he wants to go abroad, although watch him end up at Real or, a wee less likely, Barca, ffs!)
Manure used to be number 3, but almost 15 years of shit football is killing that 'dream-production line', plus, who the fuck would want to live in Manchester over London, lolol.

He’s played 34 times in the French league. Now they see him as a Chelsea starter!!
Standards are in the gutter.

We need experience in defense‚ not this bullshit.

They’re a team who are serious about winning not only in the future but also right now.
Whereas our club hierarchy with their signings and managerial appointments continuously say “just trust us, everyone, we’ll be a great team 5 years from now.” And in the meantime we are wildly inconsistent and nowhere near competitive at the top of the league.
What these jokers don’t seem to grasp is that while they sign 50 teenagers and young players it severely risks UCL qualification that we desperately need whilst they learn on the job.
You would think they’d be looking at our current situation and thinking “oh, shit…we’re at serious risk of missing out on UCL revenue for next season. We need to go out and get some experienced, ready made quality to see us over the line the rest of the way.” But nah, instead we’re linked with yet more unproven kids that could be great 5 years from now.
