how's leon osman an England international?
-
Surely Lamps's 100% win record as England captain won't be threatened today
-
Super Frank Super Super Frank Supar Frankie Lampard. Now I get the melody of this one cos a brillant england fan is blaring it all the time.
-
OMG our standards used to win us championships, nowadays I can kick better freekicks adn corners than Schweinsteiger.
-
Nice to see Big Michael Ballack as expert in German television, even though they treated him so badly.
-
Don't care I want a title.
-
well both have not won any title since 96 and that is about the time i started watching football. My parents could celebrate 2 world and euro cups in a time Germany had amazing players with Beckenbauer, Müller, Matthäus. Today we got Draxler, Götze, Özil, Müller , Schweinsteiger all about the same, spineless yes-men who will never stand up in a critical situation. This team is so good it will always come close but so weak it will never win anything which is really frustrating. you belgians at least got some exciting individuals like Hazard, KDB, Lukaku, Fellaini, Benteke, all very different from each other and great characters, Germany is like having the same guy 11 times.

Watching Germany is so boring. We are much better than anyone except Spain and Italy. We win against everyone and only lose against them and occasionally Brazil and France. This team might be very good but it lacks any exciting players with some extraordinary attitudes like pace and strength which would give us another dimension. I always hope we will get hammered just for Löw to recognize that sth has to change. in the 90s and early 00s we did not have a team of that technical niveau but we had leaders, fighters and exceptional athletes that might sometimes fail against estland but on the other on a good day could beat the best sides in the world to actually win titles.

Not so sure he will carry on that long. The fact that he started to play in a European top league so early will probably cut his career. Physically, due to his rather leisure playing style, he won't have a problem, but mentally it will be difficult for him to motivate himself in 10 years. But I agree Mikel has been a great servant for the club, he should and will stay here for years. Mikel was amazing under Ancelotti in that Mikel-Deco/Ballack-Lamps midfield. Given the right partners he will excel again.

Rumours in germany that Kevin de Bruyne will not be recalled instead either being loaned to Bayer Leverkusen or used as a makeweight to secure the signature of Andre Schürrle for whom we will have another go in summer. Btw. the chance conversion rate of our AMs are patchetic. Btw.2. Schürrle is a second striker or inside forward but surely no winger or no.9

He will not only break the record but smack home 20 goals in another season. Another funny fact to that Lamps vs Scholes and Gerrard debate apart from the ones i already listed in the English football thread. Lamps has hit double figueres in 10 seasons. Gerrard done it three times. Scholes twice. Just to illustrate the difference in quality and consistency. And of course he is the best player in Chelsea's history. Also he is the best captain.

I think the question of "fitting in" is not about style. top class strikers in form whatever their style is score. They score from the chances they create for themselves as they do from the chances created by teammates. Sheva did so at milan, Torres did so at liveropool and drogba did so for us. What our players Mazacar+co do is create chances. They dribble to the goalline and make cutbacks, work the ball through the channels or give vertical passes. Of all these sorts of services Falcao does score. It is not that he only scores from crosses. He scores headers, tap ins, curlers form distance, solo dribblings etc. His rather direct style might not be perfect for Mazard, but we could work that out. The far bigger problem is form. Shevchenko and torres surely would have succeeded here no matter their style if they had recovered their previous form. It is not theat they did not have enough chances (which would mean they would not "fit in"). No they had shitloads of chances, the problem was they were not physically or mentally in the right shape to take enough of these. Nonetheless. If we pay paying 50m for a striker he should be PERFECT for us. But that has nothing to do with him failing here or not. Not sure about that 9m. According to my calculations we would receive 16.36m € for winning the EL. but i agree, the main reason for rejecting Falcao is the financiial component. this deal would cost the club about 100m incl wages for 5 years. He is 27 and whether success here or not would have no resell value. he also is no Fernando Torres in terms of shirt sales. Our beloved ladyboy at least has refinanced himself through shirtsales already. Ba+Lukaku probably will not suffice as striking options but there are far better options in terms of cost-benefit-ratio as you've pointed out, even though Dzeko and Bony are too similar to Ba+Lukaku IMO

I also think that is mata's greatest flaw. He can't even play a pass with his right foot. So he always has to pass with the outside of his left, which makes the angle more difficult. How often have we seen that mata has been pushed inside from the left by a defender. No problem if he had a right foot he could make a side or even a diagonal pass to the front, but as he has to play it with the left he can only pass it bakcwards and the attack breaks down. that and his lack of pace make him completely useless against sides with players that are bigger and faster than him such as City. Zabaleta, Kompany, kolarov or whoever can easily bully him of the ball no matter whether he stands or dribbles cos. lol. It's the other way round with me.
-
World football is overloaded with players like him...as is our squad. We got enough AMs with nice skills and a little bit of pace. We need s.o. different. Signing him would make no sense at all. We got de bruyne, hazard, Mata and atm also Yossi and Marin. Draxler is not fast enough to be a winger, not good enough a passer to be a no.10 and not the finisher to be a striker. He provides no width and is very inconsistant. As a player he might be a great prospect but to our team he offers nothing at all.
-
That wastefulness has cost and will cost us but not today. Lamps, Ba and Hazard had chances for a hattrick each.
-
why bring on Oscar? The game is all but won and the current set-up should finish it off. rather would bring on marin or youn
-
what is with Marco von Ginkel from our very own feeder club Vitesse? He has been prolific this season and is only 20 years old. Clearly their second best player after Bony.
-
I know this game is important for Belgium and I wish you good luck but it is international football in general that I regard as completely superfluous.
-
Either Hazard or Oscar should get a rest, if not both. I hope both will not feature that much in that unnecessity called international football. Cech Iva-Cahill-JT-Bert ----Mikel-Lamps-- Moses-Mata--Marin ----------Ba---------- Bring on Hazard or Oscar when needed has always worked.
-
We should regard our squad situation in midfield for next season in the bigger picture. We will rather recall KDB than Josh who will probably get another loan, so it will leave us with KDB and Rami in CM and Romeu and Mikel as defensive midfielders. Not enough in quality and not enough in quantity. Apart from a DLP we should also buy another holding midfielder. Even though Mikel was great yesterday IMO, we can not rely on him and his stalling development, We should buy s.o. like Capoue, even though Moutinho's defensive abilites hopefully make up for Mikel's lack of running.
-
yeah but it wasn't that crucial. If I remember correctly we were already 1-0 up and had more than a half to go. This game, one goal and we would have been out, the penalty should have been converted. And when u got such a crucial penalty why do not let it be taken by more prolific penalty takers than torres?
-
He had a good performance today with a well taken goal and should have had an assist. No idea what Benayoun was doing there? Why go for the backheel flip when you simply can hit it with the instep? He is as clueless as Torres in most games. Letting him take a crucial penalty was sheer madness. He was always gonna miss that, everything he does that actually is a contribution si usually some luck, of course he will ahve a good game once in a while but that does not mean he is having another dawn. Let Luiz or Hazard take that penalty or even better take Lamps on for it.

Yeah there is ot much truth in the story but imagine... With Qatari money clubs could stick one finger up to the corrupt UEFA/FIFA bitches, their incompetent/bribed refs, silly rules and benefitting of Spanish clubs/disadvantaging British clubs. This would give a whole new dimension to the nowadays rigid structures of football, but would also accelerate the commercialization and globalisation of football. clubs could become nothing more than global franchises and had nothing to do with their local origin anymore. But I guess no one will stop that anyway, so getting rid of these corrupt basterds like Blatter and Platini

Bayern should once again be grateful to the official and their usual luck. Barcelona, real and Juve should wipe the floor with them.
-
I think that illustrates why bayern will not win the CL this year or anytime in the next 10 years.
