  1. Good read, decent bloke but that article already says it all. All he wants is playing time, so he won't come here.
  2. This probably means Wenger will still be in charge the next year and another year Arseanl will only pretend to challenge for the title. We should ask Arsenal how relentless and proactive we were when smashing them 6-0 last year.
  3. the best player in germany sends his regards. A really nice showpiece of Gemran football this game. methodical, yet stringent, tactically excellent, fast in transition, variable. Not as robust and fast paced as English football and not as technical and intricate as Spanish football, but still entertaining. effectiveness beats posession and wasted chances as usual.
  4. shay given, how about just fucking move? so a london derby it is. IMO we have really underachieved in the CS in recent memory. last win has been 6 years ago. We really are due one here. But fine, we owe Arsenal a thrashing anyway aftr the ref spared them a humilation last month.
  5. Villa have really been shit today. A historic chance for the club and the players look like they don't give a shit. no fighting, no running, just pumping high balls to benteke. pathetic.
  6. and just as deserved that sevilla turn the game. awesome power play from them
  7. That Dnipro team is great. Amazing effort and combativeness from that side. Never seen an entire team run that much. absolutely deserved lead. 2 players completely undid the entire sevilla defence with 2 simple passes.
  8. I never got why this fairly average player always gets so much praise outside Germany. He has always been a passenger with the world cup final being the exception. He started as a winger but when people realised he was far too slow and technically weak to play there they put him in the middle to play As a number 10. But soon it became evident that he could not score or assist to save his life, so they put him into DM but his defensive statistics were just as bad. So they turned him into a sort of defensive no 8 with 0 creativity and almost no output. By far his best position. Emphasises his few strengths (Strategic mind, good reaction, immense work rate and stamina, leadership, OK technique and passing) and covers up his weaknesses (physically weak, slow AF, ineffective in attack, weak tackling, no leap, immobile, ponderous). Also he is also injury prone and always out of form. Don't get me wrong. Personally I like him. He is a decent bloke. A silent leader. Matured from a choker to a winner just in time to make the game of his life in the WC final by surpassing his own narrow limitations. Now at 30 he is considered past his best already and should not be more than a squad player for any top club. And rightly so. He always considered himself to be a poor man's Lampard cos he always tried to emulate his style but never got it right. At close to 31 he will start next season on the bench playing his usual bit part role he has played for 10 years in a rapidly declining Bayern team. At 31 in 2009/10, Lamps started 58 matches for club&country, scoring 36 goals and assisting 24. Fabregas has not managed to succeed him here, so Schweinsteiger would not even a new Ballack. As a squad player he would have been an option because of his tactical abilities, work rate and experience but IMO RLC can easily be better than Schweinsteiger ever was if only he works half as hard as basti did.
  9. with the difference being that remy is 10 times better as a player.
  10. srsly what does willian have to do to score in a match? such bad luck. and that counter attack was wasted btw. remy wtf
  11. Gerrard getting battered on his final EPL game by Stoke, Lampard signing off with a world class finish against the best defence of the league.Difference.
  12. Lets hope he will put himself in the shop window at the CA. Barca is rumoured to be interested in him.
  13. Spot on. At the age of 20, Reus was exactly like Sterling is today. Always full of running, not scared to lose the ball, great dribbler, two-footed, but full of loose touches, erratic finishing and turnovers. Reus still has some bad finishes and turnovers every game but he more than makes up for it with his defensive workrate and the constant threat his offensive movement poses. Though Reus, despite being so skinny also has always had that fighting spirit in him which is why I would love to see him in a physically more demanding league. I have not yet discovered that in Sterling but time will tell.
  14. Honestly we should give this little man a break. After all the stick he gets from the Liverpool biased media he at least deserves a fair evaluation of his talent. Ok he might be inconsistent and can't finish but he is 20 years old. No one expects a 20 year old to walk into our side instantly. Stil his potential and thus his resale value is immense, so I guess splashing out a good 30m even though it won't yield short term success would be a risky but not a unretracable investment given he is homegrown. He always tries, runs at defenders, has a good eye and pass too. His first touch lets him down at times but his dribbling is decent. In short he is one of the best 20 year old wingers in epl I have seen for years and it is by no means set in stone that he will be another walcott. lets not forget walcott's progress was hampered by injuries and the fact that WEnger never utilized him correctly. Sterling has still ample chance and time to fulfill the promise he is. Should we buy him? Probably not, we got enough players with his kind of skillset potential like Bertrand Traore and Mo Salah. As I always say in those winger threads, the past 2 years and 100m+ gross thrown at the RW have shown this is not the way to go.
  15. it is a joke that no wba player gets a yellow they were at least as bad, pushing all the time.
  16. well that was all unnecessary. what did he think. but the ref overreacted badly.
  17. I fucking hate Yaya Toure, esp in an opponent's team. He is an arrogant cunt with no attitude. But I'd absolutely love him here. He would give us depth, experience, leadership, goal threat from midfield, prowess vs a parked bus - all things we have lacked this season. On a short term contract, he would be here just as long as RLC or whoever will have found his place in our midfield. I am sure Jose will be able to handle him and if not, just give Yaya the boot. A midfield of Yaya-Matic-Fabregas would be immense for big matches as well as for small. Now imagine RLC-Matic-Yaya. The height, power, pace and athleticism of that midfield gives be goosebumps. Sing him up. On a different note, City would not allow him join us.
  18. Sorry mate, but saying Pep had anything to do with our world cup win is utter crap. Whenever Löw tried some pep-style BS like Lahm in midfield or 3 man defence, it got punished like how we almost crashed out to Algeria with Lahm getting completely overrun in midfield or the Ghana debacle. We won the world cup because of a ten year evolution to create a cohesive unit of technically educated players for modern, tactically mature system. If there had bee a world cup in 2013 we'd won it much more dominant, before Pep wore out the Bayern players with his brainfart tactics that are completely knee-jerk in big games. Sure Bayern players were at their peak under Jupp more or less, but also players in their best age were better under Heynckes e.g. Boateng, Müller, Lahm have become worse under the Spaniard. Peps tactics are antiquated and temporarily dwelling on its remants cost Bayern dearly and almost cost us the World Cup.
  19. Utter Bullshit IMO. Bayern have like 120m in reserve so they could just afford a 100m transfer. But they need a major rebuild so they will not spend all that on one player. Also he just signed an extension so it would take more than 100m for us to be convinced to sell him. Chelsea clearly has the leverage here. Bayern should stay with their average bundesliga players to replace their rotten core of stone aged has-beens. Hazard is two or three classes above that shithole.
  20. Actually azpi has those numbers all by himself at times :-P
  21. man that was a chance for juve to finish the tie off. marchisio for all his fancy skills has always been a shitty finisher. even though he usually hits the ball cleanly and technically perfect he always makes it so obvious for the keeper the read his shots. wonder why he never realized that himself.
  22. Nope this is why I always thought Ronaldo was Neymar's mother.
  23. still open. Both teams have been weak and even that soft penalty which gave real and undeserved lead has not really improved the quality of the game.
  24. A midfield of busquets, iniesta, rakitic is hardly average. They owned bayern's stiff old geezer team completely.
