Looks like 2m offside
-
Ofc he scores too
-
This is such a gruelling first game. Liverpool offense is still a well oiled machine and we have a completely new backline
-
Would take a draw here. We don’t look on the same level as them atm
-
Jackson needs to use his pace 1v1 more. Vvd is not what he used to
-
True he lost his runner but Disasi and Colwill did not get close to their men
-
That was some terribly passive defending by both Colwill and disasi
-
That’s basically a Potter/Lampard legacy lineup with Jackson, Disasi and Colwill.
-
Parvard has been completely useless all day. sesko should have made it 5-0 already today.
-
They will go out of CL early tho. You don’t go to CL QFs with the likes of Dan Burn, Callum Wilson and Anthony Gordon hanging around
-
We should all chill. If we are really bidding 115m, he is coming. No chance someone else is also crazy enough to pay that much for flavour of the month Caicedo after he pulled Liverpools pants down.
-
Surley they could have bought him for some nominal fee like 3m. Now we still pay half his wages need to sign a new goalie who will probably earn more than the other half of his wages. Then we will be stuck with both eating our hairs off come next summer.
-
Why would we even agree to loaning out Kepa. Going through all the hassle of finding a replacement for a 50/50 wage split only to be stuck with him again in summer does not make any sense. Could as well keep him. Amateur hour from our board once again.

Yes but the club should not accept this as a given. City attracted Haaland. How did they overturn us in just 15 years? They are a way better run operation. More professionalism and stability in key positions. And then came Pep. If our owners were as smart as the chemicals about who to hire to run the club we would have a chance at attracting a manager with the pulling power of Pep which in turn could make us able to sign superstars. Questions is if we need that.

No Europe is definitely a plus which should give us the edge esp in October/November where our first harder games come up as well as late in the season when fatigue kicks in. but this is all worth 0 if our mostly unproven attack does not begin scoring. We need Jackson to deliver big time in Nkunku's absence, Mudryk to finally start scoring etc. But overall it seems worrying how the gap to Arsenal and City has increased so massively. Despite all of our investments we are unable to attract the absolute best that would immediately transform us back into title candidates. If you think of the money we spend, could we have used that all to make a bid for e.g. MBappe or Bellingham? Surely. But would they choose to come here? Probably not. Then there are those older ones who would have probably joined for enough money but would have only helped us in the short term like Neymar or Messi. I think more important than investing in the squad will also be to set up an elite sporting infrastructure and operation, to become a world class organisation again with stability in all the key areas to even constitute a believably ambitious project that attracts the absolute world class talent.

Isn’t it highly likely that we only need top 5 bc of the new CL reform? I think 4th place is a stretch but for top 5 Newcastle is our closest rival with spuds now out of the running. So that should be doable.
-
It really does feel like post SAF Utd. Esp bc our owners too are clueless Americans. The money we spend under the new ownership would have indeed made us favourites for league and CL a few years back. Actually the 1.5b Roman spent on us gave us 5PLs and 2CLs while chopping and changing managers and systems all the way. Since then football economy has inflated even more. Look at the salaries and commercial revenues in NFL and extrapolate this to the 10x popularity of football. Then you know what the future holds in the eyes of Todd and co. That’s why we spend so much on predominantly very young players on endless contracts. By their market expectations these investments will look cheap in the long term if fees get even more inflated. Utd on the other hand also spent loads on players like Varane or Casemiro who were meant to have an immediate impact.

when it’s time to absurdly overpay for flavour of the month this is still a matter for the boss
-
Thank god Burnley are back in the PL. what an enrichment for the league. Such scintillating football -.-
-
Yeah if you put it like that it smells fishy. But would be quite a risky play if all they wanted to do is bring the price up for us. Btw also think Adams would have been a smart low-risk signing. 111m for Caicedo is still worse than insane. Rather pay 50m for Laiva and 20 for Adams.
-
tbf we CAN go and lowball them now. Will completely piss them off, but no one is gonna touch him now that he committed to moving to us and de Zebri writing him off. If we offer them like 103m or smth like that they have to take it.
-
Tchou is 10x better than Caicedo tho
-
Is it possible Tyler Adams just failed his medical. Pulling the plug just bc we have to pay more for Caicedo is super unprofessional from our side tbh no matter what ppl think of the player.
-
Brilliant twist, great entertainment. But tbh 111m, let Lpool fkin have him. We bid what we deemed an ok price. Did not come off, fair enough. But now to go above our own valuation just bc the dippers swoop in last minute is weak. There is not a 60m difference in valuation between him and Lavia. In fact, give Bayern or Real 111m and surely they will be open to selling Kimmich or Tchouameni and both are better than the one season wonder.
-
That’s probably the initial motive but can totally see us going for him should we miss out on Caicedo as for the Bayern rumours there is no way in hell he moves their. Neither is Caicedo willing to play second fiddle to kimmich nor is Bayern gonna shed another 100m on the same window after Kane . They made a huge exception for that one. They would never do so twice and particularly not for a rather unproven player. Whoever made up this rumour needs their head checked. Probably it’s just Brighton last desperate attempts to make us pay up for Caicedo. You should expect every dirty trick in the book from them.
