Should have decided the match today. This is why imo he will never be an absolute top striker. Top strikers score when it matters most which are exactly the kind of situations where Tammy is most wasteful. Maybe lamps will eventually iron it out but a striker who loses his cool just when it matters most is exactly what you don’t want. He will always score enough, don’t get me wrong but sometimes it’s not only about how many you score but how many you miss.

We have had that week rest again. They too played in midweek. St. James is a horrid place to come to but we must not be affected by the circumstances, just keep our cool and we should be superior all over the pitch.

I would take Kolasinac off them in a heartbeat. Average footballer but absolute beast and great character to have in the dressing room. Also IMO still better than Alonso and Emerson in current form

games like Southampton, Burnley or Everton which should be comfortable for us we keep fucking up. But sides that are usually super uncomfortable to play like Burnley, Spurs, Wolves we have whopped so far. It is a really enigmatic season.

we have been as mediocre as usual at home but one moment of madness from tarkowski and one moment of brilliance from Reece is all it takes to turn a game that we would be losing 1-0 to one that we might win. And this vs one of the toughest side in the league. Goals change games.

I think we are gonna win this. We have usually won when we had a full week rest, I think because of lack of rotation, players still learning Lamps's tactics and how much freshness is instrumental to our style of play. Absolute must-win given how we (albeit luckily) hammered them in their stadium, so they will be up for it. Would not be surprised if we turn in a predictable puker like in our last few pl home games.

Tbf they played much better as a team without Kane. Also Kane is a big game bottler.

The loss is irrelevant but the stagnation in revenue is alarming if you look at how other big clubs around us grew. 14.5 growth on the commercial side indicates that we should invest more in building our brand globally. Also I would be interested in seeing how change in first team management affected the bottom line exactly as I would have thought that Sarris effective sale should have been cost neutral.

Easy. we lose vs any side that know how to park the bus and have the pace to run at our isolated defenders or are good at set pieces. Unfortunately this is the style of play of about every Premier League team right now.

Great summary. We have a lot of players that are square pecks in round holes. Pep and Klopp got all the players with the right attributes and technical education for their system. Lampard is not Conte or Mourinho who style their system to fit their players but has a certain philosphy. We see that our players really try to buy into this game but time and time again they dont know what to to, run out of steam, look out of sync with each other or simply are not good enough. This squad is like 8th best in the league. Finsihing 6th or higher would be a great success. The more time the players have to train with lamps and to rest to digest his ideas the better they perform. No wonder we won most games we had full weeks of rest for. Also our best performance vs Spurs came after a nice week long of rest. When Lamps gets his players we will improve drastically IMO. But if the Board gives him the usual dregs we will struggle. Today for once was not Lamps's fault but the players individual (Kovacic) or collective incompetence (look at how Zouma and Rüdiger were aimlessly running around when our midfield decided to press up or how Jorginho and Kante were out of position once the press of the front three was surpassed.

I think it is no coincidence that Kante's return after the last internatinonal break has accompanied a poor run of form. He has not been as good as he used to and often looks isolated. Overall I think our midfield, albeit our best collection of players is overrated af. We need a complete midfielder who can score goals, play throughballs and reads the game well enough to dictate the tempo and make interceptions. someone like Lamps was as a player. Particularly goals and through balls are missing from our midfield. Our present midfielders are very lmited in their game. Mount is pretty much only good and running a lot and finding space, Kovacic is only good an dribbling and 1 on 1 defending (apart from his clumsly performance today). Kante is only good at dribbling, running a lot, defending and short passing, Jorginho is only good at passing in the first and and middle third of the game etc. Also our press sucks and was broken countless times because our midfield did either not push high enough or was out of synch with the defence when the first 3 were surpassed.

Lamps made an important point. When we have such a small side teams will get chances in set pieces vs us and the odd one will stick. So we have to take our chances. 1-0 will never be a safe result for this team. If we don’t get at least 2 goals we are not even 50% likely to win. also Kante and Kova were atrociously bad. And both are basically useless in a game we’re we have this much space.

It’s frustrating how we always feature at the wrong end of the rarest and most outrageous goals. Cisse, Adam, Agüero, Mahrez, Salah all these rare stunners always against us. other than that no complaints, even game could have lost. Selection was alright, ref was torrid, Non sharpness, bad pressing. typical post-conte Chelsea game.

Alcacer handed in a transfer request.... if Giroud leaves is we could use another experienced striker Ebonics effective from the bench. Only gripe is Paco is such a poor athlete.

Werner would also compliment Tammy better in a possible 2 striker set up. Tammy can still become a decent target man and Werner is brilliant playing off the shoulder.
