There seems to be big demand for central defenders currently but also a certain supply of decent ones. Some deals already done like Alaba, Upamecano and Konate, but Süle, Bastoni, Lacroix and many others still up for grabs. Surely I trust our board to grab a decent one even though for me it is not priority no. 1, so we should not overspend. We got a few good ones, Thaigo got one more year in his tank I think. Also Guehi was one of the best defenders in the CS, he might very well have a role to play.

Pretty sure Southgate will flog Mount to death and he will have a significant fall out next season but I really hope he will be inlfuenced enough by the biased media to play Shaw over Chilwell all the time.

Whats so special about him tho? I have only seen him in CL last season some games where he did not really stand out. This season only the Lille Lyon thriller were he also did not really make a mark. what kind of cm is he supposed to be? I mean I get he is more of a technical box to box one who is also suppose to create but would he be suited to playing in the double pivot in any combination with Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho, Gilmour? Not really seen too mcuh of his defensive side in the highlight videos

As I said before, when you produce prime Willian's numbers but at 19-22 you got potential to get better still. Bertrand Traore and Piazon were attackers and naturally should score more. Also overall Mounts performances were probably more accomplished than Piazons and Traores. I never watched Lewis Baker play but Piazon and Traore got a few peaks and looked outof their depth mostly at Chelsea. Mount impressed immediately in his first few games at Chelsea. Life is not always fair but would you rather have Piazon or Traore instead of Mount here? I am not even a Mount fanboy, I used to be a critic. I still think we should rely less on him and if we had a better set of attackers he would probably not play that much but I see his value now. To compare him to a fully matured Willian when he is 10 years younger is just not adequate. Willian had years and years to improve and never did. Mount already made more of a progress in 2 years here than Willian did in his entire Chelsea career. Mount obviously is more of a workhorse than a creator himself and his end product could be better but you can see that it will get better. He gets into good positions consistently, he makes the right choices more and more often just his execution is still a bit off. Willian was held back by his incredible lack of game intelligence. Mount definitely has a sound understanding of the game. he is only held back by his lack of experience at the top level. That is why I can totally see him ending up as a Chelsea great. I really wish we would buy superior talents like Sancho instead but we won't, so we got to stick with what we have. Given this chance, I think Mount is the type of character to take it. He might not have made it here in another era but he is at the right place at the right time.

No I didn't. I did nothing to infer anything about how his goals influenced Vitesse's league position. Got the stats from transfermarkt 13 goals, 10 assists in 2900 mins. For a midfielder that is an impressive record. Mount at has consistently produced better numbers tho. Mimimum number of goals Mount has per season in the past 4 years is 8. Willian only beat that tally twice in his career. Willian played in weaker leagues like Ukraine and Russia, hardly produced better numbers. Mount on the other hand shot the Eredivisie to pieces. We bought Wilian when he already was a finished product. Mount still has time on his side.

Maignan is an amazing deal. He was my favourite in summer.. Economically would have been a better deal than Mendy for sure but we all trust in petr so i am not bitter

It is crazy.18 big chances missed in a single season is something else. For reference, according to offical PL stats, Frank Lampard missed just 18 big chances in his entire career o.O. Makes you appreciate how clinical we used to be.... Tammy's treatment under TT really has been criminal. One of very few major gripes i have with him. I ahve made myself clear that I am not a big Tammy fan and I dont think he got it to lead our line as main striker but has his uses and TT has ignored them and we may still pay the price for that.

nice vid. despite having watched him all season, I cant remember any of those physical duels he apparently has won. Shows that some of his contributions are a bit under the radar. also some criminal finishing at the end of some of his best passes. My favourite moment will always remain how he completely burns Trippier for pace without even breaking a sweat. He just needs to be more forceful.
