Havertz is 1,89m and yeah we played Oli and Tammy in the same lineup at least during games before. More worrying is that all but one defender are under 1,85m.

I would say Baba was quite alright.... he usually is quite good in offense and a bit suspect in defence which could be not as grave in lwb....he just got unlucky with injuries otherwise he might have grown into a decent squad member. He, Drinkwater and Sterling have been dropped after that one game vs bournemouth. Probably an indication they will get loaned out again...but is also possible albeit very unlikely that TT liked what he saw from them so much that he already decided to keep them in the squad for the season and wanted to assess others further

Ironic, Villareal prepared for this super cup like they would for a CL final. Started preseason 6 weeks ago, played 8 friendlies, 2 vs English teams and 4 with teams who can play 3atb... Will still be a steep challenge for us despite their poor form... they are miles ahead in fitness and conditioning, they have been playing with almost their full group all the time and it is their chance to win only their 2nd ever trophy... we should not take this lightly they will be super hungry. I think their poor pre-season form is just like our poor form ahead of the CL final, all concentration goes into this fkin game.

weird comparison given SFL scored way more long-distance goals than Gerrard. while that timing aspect is arguable, both were very talented shooters you could see that in their early career. Lukaku on the other hand has always been below average in several aspects of the game. Still, i would argue that a player can improve individual aspects of his game at any age but it hardly gonna improve overall as a player after he hit his late 20ies with the exception of players who started to play professional football late. Kante or Drogba clearly improved their passing during their time here at the bridge. It is ofc down to natural talent how much you can improve and first touch will never be Rom's forte but it is totally in the realm of the possible that he improved his first touch from terrible to just about tolerable even in 12 months. Maybe Rom did not respond to prior coaching methods and only Conte found the right approach. I say this as somoene who is against this transfer, i still have seen lukaku do inch perfect first touch layoffs for Inter that would have landed in the stands during his ManUre time.

Not really, Lukaku deal will be at least 160m if you add wages, agent fees, haaland maybe 220 but is 8 years yonger. easy to say which is the better deal.

It is quite ridiculous signing Kounde and Lukaku We are about to sign a centre back who is all flashy skills, dribbling and technique but tiny and weak and a centre forward who is all height, strength and power but no skill, dribbling nor technique and each is gonna cost a ton... you could not make this up.

as we knew before, his game intelligence, technique and coordination is on tammy level. he just is the superior physical specimen, question is for how long. take away his pace and power, which are already waning, he is useless.

yeah we do, we were stuck with him for ages and had to give him new chances every few weeks.... same will happen with lukaku, the similarities are striking.

He is already 28, 2-3 prime years max out of him for 100m+ is steep. I also don't think he makes a difference in our title challenge. we will not get anywhere near PL title anyway and top 4 should be doable without. so he would not even be an ultimate short term fix.
