Thankfully we have this huge squad. Thiago Silva, James suspended, Pulisic injured, Lukaku possibly out as well, maybe Mount needs a rest (will obv still start) does not even matter, we have Ziyech, CHO, Havertz and fit and/or fully rested. Still, fuck int'l football.

Said it 100 times. He has to stop taking unnecessary risks. His feeble body is not meant for that. Internationals are a curse
-
If we win the league this season, he has won everything possible so might look for a new challenge. I don't think he is top5 tho.... he has played 7 world class months for us but other than that has not really been on this level consistently. Not for Roma not for us under Conte or Sarri or Löw. He had good patches but never been this good. Once he is taken out of our system as in the German team he suddenly looks rather normal. HIs personality might be harder to replace tho
-
Would be a loss but he is replaceable. Will be 29 next summer already so if he overplays his hand we should let him leave, not be held to ransom. plenty of good cbs available. As long as we have TT and the back 5, even half decent defenders will look solid as long as they are quick and good on the ball.

True, still think Rom should take over . It’s more important to have your cf freely scoring and giving his confidence a regular boost
-
It is even worse, in the first half of the season they are monthly
-
He better eve not aboard when the Clown abducts another plane. still any minor injury gives you more of a shudder due to the pricetag
-
Just a regular cold/infect of the upper airways. He missed the final training yesterday. Don’t expect his availability for us to be affected .

Nah as many here are aware, I actually detest Bayern, but you gotta know your enemy. In Germany sports coverage is very much centred around FCB and you really can’t avoid being kept updated here when you are in the football community. There has only ever been one club for me tho.

Players Bayern Munich signed in the last few windows: Marcel Sabitzer christian Früchtl Omar Richards Bouna Sar Marc Roca Michael Cuisance Choupo-Moting You know what they have in common? They are all bang-average at best. CHO in current form would have been another example of this transfer policy. Bayern don't mind and can afford to buy shit players and hope they eventually turn out good when they usually dont and have them sit on the bench for a few years or loan them out, treat them as cashcows or to make up the number if not. They just don't care. Also I think they wanted to buy CHO to piss us off. They hate us after all and love to poach and tap up. So their interest in CHO - irrespective of his talent or potential - does not make him a good player at all.
-
Seems TT likes having every position double-covered, even with 6 cbs. A sign we are not gonna see a back 4 anytime soon. Also given Mbuyamba is the exact opposite type of defender as Kounde it shows he is quite flexible in thar regard.
-
Absolute Jackpot. Let’s hope he never plays for the NT again. Nothing better than having international level players who don’t actually play for a NT. the entertainment of the fall out is an added bonus. After all the bad luck we had with players out in int. duty we finally struck Gold here.
-
lol. Appreciate his efforts to prove my point.

I never said I want a CB with progressive runs. There are CBs who are comfortable on the ball and there are CBS like formerly David Luiz and now mini-Luiz aka Kounde who think they are too talented to play like as such and engage in stupid dribblings and lose the ball. Even if his dribbligs are successful he usually tends to stay on the ball too long like willian or barkley until after the moment to make any progress is gone. For the errors, just check the whoscored statistics for Konde, he is regulalry in the top places for errors leading to goals. It was particulalry pronounced during his time in bordeaux and he still has not ironed it out. Also i watched Sevilla's games vs Barca and Real last season and he repeatedly tried breaking thei opposition's first line with dribbling and lost the ball leading to chances against Sevilla. the most ridiculous defensive action of his will probably always be when he sat down on the ball on his own goalline for like 7 seconds vs Atletico Never seen a defender do something as stupid.
-
Pretty sure it was an honest mistake. You are right about Kostic, he has been Eintracht's most important player and absolute assist machine most seasons there. Would have loved to see him in the PL , Lazio is more of a little step down IMO, so no real disappointment. Maybe he can secure a better move next summer but he is not getting any younger.
-
Why did he even travel? It was obvious he could never play...Probably stupid Deschamps demanded Kante to make the trip cos he does not trust our medical department.
-
Shit signings and sales irrespective of any of this is what caused the transition. It is a combination of physical and technical aspects that is vital in most positions, cb is one of them. But the main problem with Kounde is not even his height and built but his swashbuckling attitude, risky dribblings around the own penalty box and through midfield, lapses of concentration and stupid errors. He simply does not have the right mindset for a CB IMO.
-
Can we stop whining about losing out on Kounde? The club was 100% to pull the plug after Sevilla got cocky. We might have dodged a huge bullet here, apart from his diminutive stature he has other red flags which i would have loathed to see at the club, so I can't deny that getting Saul but missing out on Kounde was my absolute dream scenario for deadline day. Next year there will be better (and taller) CBs available again for less money. I really hope the club and TT widen their horizon about the cb options on the market.

Italians appear to be reluctant to come to England tho in general. Only Jorginho and Emerson were here and they are basically Brazilian. Some get home sick easily and never really perform that well out of their homeland.
-
Told you so. That was one spin to many to still be believable
-
It often does not come until early morning Confident they all did their due in time. things only have to be submitted by 0:00 league associations can still confirm or ask for corrections tomorrow In the end everybody wants this deal to happen (except maybe la Liga lol )
-
should get another shot at RWB with RJ missing 2(?) matches. It is not his best position but you don't really see him excel in attack either. I am not sure he will ever nail a place down as winger anywhere in a big European club but if BVB are still desperate for him next season, we might well use him as bait for one of their talents.
-
Sam Allardyce just went on live TV to claim that not replacing Zouma might cost us the PL title
-
Agree, decent window. Stayed away from shit players or those we don't necessarily need, managed to shift a lot of deadwood. We had to overpay for Rom as it was necessary but the deals for Saul and Bettinelli are quite good. Afaik Saul has not played for Spain for quite some time and has not been called up so he should get a nice introduction into Tuchelball.
-
He let himself a tiny door open by calling it blocked but he dissuaded a lot from this deal and as you say gave the impression the deal was dead multiple times. They can't always get it right but it shows that even the more reliable sources talk a lot of BS just to attract attention or just have something to say despite often being completely in the dark just as we are.
