Running Alonso into the ground will not make him better. He is only sufferable bc he is somewhat fresh and does not look as painfully slow as normally. I guess we need more Ziyech's creativity than Timo's pace here. Zenit will be out to park the bus.

Neuer is still absolute world class. i don't like the guy, he is a psycho and an arrogrant egomaniac but he is still one of the top 5 goalies in the world and his abilities have not really declined too much. He is probably as good a shot stopper as Mendy still but better with his feet. Based on his performances in the 2 seasons prior to last, i would have Alisson as best goalie but i have not seen as much of him last season so i might be wrong. Ter Stegen is a bit overrated imo. He is capable of the most spectacular saves but he makes unusually many stupid errors for a WC goalie.

Pretty sure Chiesa will never come here. More likely to spend his whole career in Italy. No idea why ppl are so obsessed with him. Bayern will surely try to lowball us at first but if Nagelsmann really wants him they will pay up. His constant misses don't help his market value tho. What I find most worrying is that on one hand he pretends the misses don't faze him in his post-match interview (when they clearly do harm his confidence) but on the other hand when he eventually does score it by no means solves his confidence issue, he just goes on to miss another sitter minutes later. Most strikers i have followed before would beat themselves up over misses but once they got the monkey off their back they would go on a spree. He really could be beyond repair at our club. It is clearly genetic. Among other factors he has short muscle bellies and long tendons so the muscles don't go over the the joints to protect them as the case with more stocky guys, hence knocks do more damage. About unnecessary risks, i have seen him chase after lost balls and getting into 1vs1s even when the game is stopped.
