  1. Good practice for the manure game. An opp who can’t play, parks the bus but has pace and physicality, reinforced by a biased ref as their best player
  2. We struggle with their physicality. the ref is a nuisance
  3. Urin‘s plan is clearly to load the wings and deny us the width will leave space in the channels tho
  4. You are welcome That is quite an easy transition tho. To speed up the process, I used the cumulative distribution function to calculate the cumulative prob for 3 or more but decided to go over the normal prob. density function first for didactic reasons, then provide both results. Pls excuse the nitpick but the way I learned it is that arithmetic is the precurser of numbers theory and thus only covers the basic operators. factorial is not an operator within the field of arithmetic. It is not really relevant but strict rules is what math is about. Only did my BSc in maths but this much i remembered^^
  5. Well it is not arithmetic but still relatively basic high school math. I used binomial probability distribution but you can probably also use other distributions and configure them with the cited parameters to get the coefficients. But for discrete events and small numbers binomial works best. So for binomail distribution your proability to get AT as a ref - if it were random - would be 1/22. your number of trials is the 13 games and 3 is the number of hits. So if you insert these into the binomial distrubtion formula you will get the probability of getting AT in exactly 3 games (the probabiity for this single even would be about 1.7%) . I then also calculated it for all possible numbers greater than 3 bc we could have got it even worse in theory and added them up to get closer to 2%
  6. Perhaps. Kalou just missed 4 games inured in his entire Chelsea career. Only when he played more regularly for hertha he accumulated 9 games missed in his 30ies, so not quite sure which reason preponderated. then again Kalou was always in great shape, did yoga and was smart in dodging challenges. This for me is the biggest diference. I think it is Puli himself who seeks the danger. I am not convinced fatigue is the main driver of his injury record. Rather, I suggest a combination of that, his genetic disposition( short muscle bellies, long tendons, limited mobility and overall below average tissue resilience) and his reckless die-hard attitdue. In some situations he is so overzealous, like chasing lost balls into a brutal challenge long after the whistle is gone. Sure he can put his body on the line if there is a goal at stake but he so often doing it in completely needless situations. Sure it is not ideal to play with a bit of a handbrake on, but he needs to be smart about it. Get a better understanding of when it is worth it and when not. The time he ignored the US medical team and subsequently got injured speaks volumes. Even when there is time to consider he always chooses his ego over his body. A good wide receiver puts himself out of bounds instead of running into a massive safety the moment he realizes he won't get another yard. Pulsisic would run into a brick wall just to prove a point
  7. It is odd. Given there are exactly 22 referees in the PL, having him 3 times or more in 13 games has a probability of less than 2% if we assumed random distribution. Apart from this the next two games will show if we really have improved compared to our start of the season esp the week where we lost to Shitty and Juventus Urin the first time.
  8. Unfortunately he has won some meaningless french tinpot trophies in the meantime so the deadlock is broken but I really wonder why they prioritize him this highly. He has never done anything of note apart from two vain title challenges that ended in mid April and an incredibly lucky CL run. Would be way more anxious if Conte was still on he market.
  9. After re-watch still a good performance, lots of chances created, utter dominance but a few tiny mistakes could have cost us. We also got a niece bit of revenge after Maddison gloated how they unlocked us at set pieces a year ago and now we did the same to them. Enjoyed out play a lot, especially how we were positionally flexible, brought the fullbacks into play in the centre and behind the last line. This way we were able to pin them back all game and cause massive havoc in their backline. This leads me to a massive point. We are pretty much dependent on RJ and Chilly staying fit and mastering their workload. Fullbakcs/Wingbacks are maybe the most important position in today's football and our back ups while decent are so different from the marauding RJ and Chilly that it significantly changes the way we play. Just like Pep shed out 200m for fullbacks, we wanted to do the same in buying hakimi. Sad it did not happen but we should not drop this. Maybe even buy in Jan if a good opportunity arises.
  10. good one. But Sala was virtually never injured.
  11. tottenham still looked like shit but they did get a result. Conte knows how to grind out wins and the 3-4-3 suits them too a T.... Not sure how far this will go beyond next summer due to the inevitable transfer spat with levy but for the moment i am quite content we already smashed them at their home.
  12. His first and 2nd touch were amazing he also opened up the play for the first goal i am almost as sure about this guy as I was about Reece. Bar a career wrecking incident he will become a top class player. Hopefully here
  13. Ah well my bad. jury is still out on Lukaku but tbfh i was in favour of agüero over Lukaku in summer as well still we would have been in an even worse position now had we done this. Losing a striker in November and then having to buy from a weak position in Jan would have been a disaster
  14. Refer to the part in bold Obviously I would have taken him over nando 100 times out of 100 back in 2011. I wanted us to sign agüeor back in 2009.
  15. Apparently agüero has to end his career due to heart condition sad end. All time great striker for me Good shout not to sign him this summer
  16. Newcastle still can’t win. Should have lost tho manure are ridiculous. Can’t see ole surviving this. Wonder whether maguire out is not actually good for them. They always raise their game vs us so we should not read too much into this
  17. you forget that I try to avoid inernational football like the plague^^
  18. Nah Bayern will win the title again but not in a dominant fashion I think. Bayern quite often have a mediocre start to the season but there is never one team resilient and consistent enough to get ahead. And even if they do, the difference in squad depth and mentality is key in the business end. I would even say that Dortmund will never win a big title as long as Watzke is in charge. He is not a football man and has never given anyone a fair chance as coach after his best buddy Kopp left. All he does is collecting cash by selling their most prized assets. Bayern themselves have recognised that RB Leipzig are closest (albeit still remote) to a rival now due to their ability to maintain a quality squad for longer witht heir rich resources. The manouvre of buying their best defender, midfielder and coach speaks volumes. Any coach could win the title with the infrasctructure in place in Munich so why not poach the one who spent years developing the main rival and have him bring along his favourite players.
  19. It seems even Bayern are affected by the int. break hang over. Augsburg are a technically fine team with a few physical, combative guys (esp like Andre Hahn who turned pro very late but compensates his lack of technique with aggression and tirelss running) but nothing top quality. Usually a pointless, lower half-midtable team aiming for 40 points to spend the last few matchdays on the beach.
  20. It was. We also did the zip line and two hikes in the jungle, one to a spectacular cascade in el limon. We divided our time between the famous white sands, clear waters of the south coast and the wild, less crowded north coast with a lot more untouched nature. Never been to Hawaii. But can imagine where it is similar. Jamaica was great for surfing, rafting and enjoying the Caribbean lifestyle. really nice, joyous ppl with good stories. The best thing is how easy it is to move around and interact with the locals, really dive into the culture.
  21. Less than 24h to the game, feeling pumped already This really felt like an eternity. I managed to fit almost my entire Caribbean vacation into this international break without missing a minute of Chels. Needless to say I don’t have any vacation planned for the next 4 months till the next int break so I can solely focus on our games lol
  22. Nice one. Just yesterday i scrolled down our youth and loan options for cb. after some research came to the conclusion that Colwill would be the most likely to make the step up other than mbuyamba.
  23. It’s hard to say that every player ever to play in eredivisie will suck in PL but clearly for many the direct move from Netherlands to PL is too steep. Not just bc of difference quality but also the huge contrast in styles but a detour from NL to Scotland or France and then a move to a smaller PL club can remedy this. Can Dijk is a prime example. I doubt he would have made it if he had moved straight from Groningen to pool. Suarez for me is the real standout.
  24. According to stats the is more efficient in the attacking areas than in the defensive part of his game. Would surprise me if he was considered Kante successor. IMO he is more similar to young Barkley but with a better mindset and consistency
