That is some appraisal. Broja is only one year younger than Haaland, does not have this ferocious will and attitude to always get inot scoring positins and is also not as clinical. But in terms of pace I would agree. Broja is one of the fastest players of that size i have ever seen. They both have this incredible athleticism without being bulky and thus being very mobile, agile and nimble for their size unlike Lukaku. But given how little the latter has done for us so far, I doubt we would be far worse off with Broja in his place. The guy averages a goal every 134mins, which is half the time lukaku needs for a goal. Surely the opposition have been worse on average, the system is different etc. But Broja actually fits our system way better. Not saying I know for sure he is good enough but from the mere characteristics of his play, Broja's relentless pressing, pace and ability to make runs in behind, he is like a big Timo without the mental handicap. I was 100% willing to jump into the cold water with Broja in summer instead of dumping 100m on the wrong player and still don't see where I was wrong.

Tbh Rüdiger has never looked convincing in a regular back 4 apart from patches in the Sarri season and few games at Roma. For Germany and under FL he was a disaster . He is a proactive defender who likes to step outside the back 4 to win the ball early and that is just suicidal in a back 4. Not even speaking about his driving runs into the opposition box. With 3atb when he vacates his position and gets run past by an attacker, there are 2 others tidying up and no one notices the mistake. In a before the attacker runs into acres of space in behind and you look like an absolute tool. This will be Toni every time. If we plan to go to back to before I don’t mind him leaving at all. transfer update on sky Germany stopped short of reporting everything being agreed with real but talks have taken place and you can bet they offered him some crazy wages already. Club should not be held to ransom

yeah, in our 3atb our 2 cms have to be rather conservative and defensively strong to allow the wingbacks to be this offensive, make runs behind the opposition defence and come inside for shooting positions. In a back 4 we would have the fullbacks playing way more conservatively and two midfielders being more adventorous. There is no optimal solution, it is just two different approaches. I think a huge factor is how long it takes teams to get used to our system. We are currently the only big CL club to play 3atb so it makes it awkward to play against us esp in big games. But at some point we will become more predictable and might need to switch things up. As long as Thiago is our main cb tho i think he will need to be protected by two fast cbs aroudn him, so i guess next season will still be mostly 3atb if TT stays.

Squad wise it might be sensible. With Billy and Conor returning we have an abundance of midfielders but will probably be at least 1 CB short compared to the current situation. That being said, I doubt TT will just go back to before just bc it is more suitable to the number of options we have in the respective positions. He would do so only to add more variety to his tactical repertoire. I don't think he will bin the 3atb any time soon.

Nah I think it is doing a huge injustice to Conor's ceiling comparing him to a player who was neat and tidy but a squad player for his entire career. All in, he did not manage to start 100 senior games, was not even a consistent starter for the worst bayern team in decades. He was ravaged by injuries, I give you that. Maybe a bit like the trajectory RLC is on atm, quite comparable tbf. If Conor only gecomes a player like that it would be a disappointment.

Let's hope they dont fire rafa in the meantime now that Gallagher tore them a new one.

Harsh on Conor. He is way more powerful and has already scored more PL goals in his first 4 months than Hargreaves did in his entire career in all senior competitions.

If we make a long FA Cup run i can see him stat padding massively against some league 2 sides. 4 goals per round until semi-final and he might make those 25 lol
