We need a Kante with better distribution. But there is no such player around atm. So for now, I will be happy as soon as we get Kovacic and Kante back fit already. LWB is a huge worry tho. The club must see now that Alonso is a lost cause. We need someone who can make an impact now. If we fail to make a worthwhle acaquisition here, i will massively downgrade my season expectations. With Chilwell I said top 4 would be a breeze but with Alonso we will be struggling big time.

Tied with Mount tho who has played fewer games. This year I am confident we will get someone else as top scorer, albeit we seem to be getting uncharacteristically many pens... not that I am complaining, long may it continue.

I can only speak about what he was good at in Bundesliga. There he was a good finisher, excellent aerial threat, master of simple dribbling, quick decision maker. Basically a direct output oriented attacking Allrounder. In Bundesliga he could have become anything l. Flick thinks of him as long term striker partner for Adeyemi. In PL, best I can think of is someone in the firmino mould. he will never be as effective here as in a less physical league unless he puts On a good 10kgs of muscle. He just can’t keep hold of balls into space which is what he needs for his game. In fact he will remain a peripheral figure irrespective of his talent as long as he does not improve physically and also gets tougher mentally

So? We have seen now that we implode as soon as a couple of midfielders are out. We had to play RJ there just a few days ago. We have to make sure we have the position covered over and over before we sell a cm

From Watford i would prefer ismaila sarr, looks more complete technique wise Defensive stats have been somewhat fine. Still he never looked convincing to me but is at least as good on dead balls as Alonso so we would not lose anything in comparison. He surely is more comfortable on the ball under pressure than Alonso but also not my favourite kind of fullback. As a back up Digne would be quite decent tho.

Only works in a 3 man midfield it seems. Probably too limited to keep around but we would need to integrate players like Gallagher first given how light we are in numbers on midfield
