Lamptey did not have the patience so there was not much we could do about it . Also he is hopelessly overrated by our fan base. Mainly bc we let him go this cheaply. he has a flashy burst of pace and looks like a little kid but that’s were the eye catching stuff ends. He has contributed 0 goals and 1 assist as a very attacking fullback. In short, he is a midget Adama traore. we have a buy back clause on Tino who is twice the player About Kennedy I doubt he will be in the squad already. Probably has the rest of the month to learn the system and to convince TT to warrant a place in the squad instead of being loaned out again.

Also, honestly, when you are willing to spend 115m euros, there is not a question of who is on the market. There was not just Vlahovic, Haaland, Lukau or bust. We could have gotten Schick who has been making strides for year now. already has 18 BuLi goals again and played an immense. 115m would have gotten us anyone probably even salahexcept maybe 5 or 6 players on the planet. so surely it is not as if lukaku was the only choice.

At least 50% of the forum were against Lukaku while I among others have always called for Alonso’s sale. When we failed to get hakimi, who would have been huge given out I juries, I we were not in the market for an alternative again and now stand here with the same problem again. True, It is TTs system that makes defenders shine and attackers stagnate. At psg it did not really matter cos he had Neymar and knappe. At Dortmund he had very poor defenders which looked somewhat alright. But compares to the defenses Dortmund faced his attackers (prime mikhitaryan, Reus and auba) were still better than ours vs average epl defence. In our formation bc the cm/s don’t join the attack the AMs and the ST will always be outnumbered when going inside restricting their goal output potential. The wing backs however will be afforded more space either out wide when our AM/winger has dragged the opposition fullback into the channel or inside when there is an overlapping run. TT made use of this by encouraging RJ and chilly to make those high runs to get into scoring positions. So the attackers are actually the water carriers creating space and wearing defenders down. Now we basically lost our most valuable atttacking threats. without changing formation we are effectively 2 attackers down as Azpi and Alonso just are not adequate back ups. Playing Cho and pukisic as wing backs has not really worked cos both are out of form and confidence. Unsurprisingly, our best performances after chillys acl year have come with a back 4 when we create and overload in midfield which leads to more spaces between the lines. Unfortunately our profligate attackers have spurned most resulting chances but at least they were created .

Kilman i don’t know that well but coady is terrible imo In the first Lampard season he was skinned by Tammy twice in the away game and then outpaced by Giroud in the home one. Also was at fault for two more goals I think vs manure and Liverpool that season. Whenever I watched him he cost his side a goal. More of a club mascot spared blushes by his cb partners

Never looked at him as a target for us and Bundesliga is not exactly rich in top attackers but would not mind him. He is a bit like a young Gary Cahill in built and playing style. Athletic but conservative in his tackling. Good in the air. Alright on the ball and usually looking to progress it cleanly. Slight Deficiencies in proactive defending and balance . He is in only his 2nd season of regular pro football tho. Not sure he puked be up for the challenge to play for us mentally. Would be a gamble but not an expensive one. Contract runs out next year.

I respect your opinion but your claim Diego better than drogba is right up there with your ‘Alonso is not the problem, Chilwell is’ line drogba was clearly better technically. His first touch, passing, variety of finishes be it in the air, from distance, on the turn. Thats not even up for debate. Technique wise Diego was basically Lukaku with better work rate. A mean aggressive poacher. He had like 2 20 goals seasons for us and 2 more good seasons at Atlético. The rest of his career he did very little. Despite drogba always being touted as not a consistent goal scorer he has far more goals On a higher level than Diego drogba also decided numerous big games for us. Diego was quite anonymous in those . sorry there really is not an ounce of truth in this. drogs clearly the better footballer.

Harsh on Bosingwa. He was terribly unreliable at times but usually rose to the occasion. Pocketed Messi in 2009 and Ribery in 2012. 2 times Champions league winner but his best moment will always be when he front kicked benayoun in the back right in front of the linesman and got a free kick for it
