  1. Let’s hope this is just temporary. Sarr has only played a few games as lb the last few years, so no problem if he is focused on getting the basis right first before adventuring more forward. He does not need to be brilliant at it. If he achieves the level of azpis or ash‘s contribution I will be more than happy
  2. So does süle in more games What I mean is, Kounde is flashy but he often causes danger instead of preventing it. He often dribbles when he should not and attempts unnecessarily difficult passes when there are better options. It is good he trusts his own skills but he has a history of making rash decisions, has lapses of concentration, easily gets provoked. I would have fewer problems if he was a fullback or midfielder but as a cb i look for players with a more composed mindset and mental control
  3. You bet he is its not even close kounde is a mink David Lutz, an add kid who causes red cards and pens Süle is as calm and collected as it gets
  4. yeah but why can Süle not replace Azpi first. Süle is just as versatile. has played RB for bayern a lot when their actual ones were injured. i don't see anything relevant kounde can do that süle can't do better. If we don't snap up Süle he might go to real or Manure.
  5. Let’s hope the first one is BS süle makes too much sense shedding out 60m for kounde over getting a far better defender for free would be absolute madness
  6. Not good he fits them perfectly let’s hope the step up is too much for him
  7. I am not sure about Everton. From the outside it seems like a very toxic place with a trigger-happy deluded board. Invested lots of funds without any proper system in place. They used to bring out quality young players but recently only the ok-ish DCL. He really is not a bad manager. I do not say this as a big fan of the player. Overall achieving top four in his first season with the ban was quite a feat. Some of the football we played not only in those magical few days when we beat everton and liverpool with billy gilmour playing out of his skin but also the first few weeks with timo, kai, chilly and thiago were great. we demolished all those relegation fodder teams with great swagger and pinged the ball around like prime barcelona at times. Additionally, he made RJ one of the best rightbacks in world football, Tammy and Mason also turned out decent enough, Chilly and Kova also made immense stepsin their development under him. He just had no answers when the attackers lost form and we were still conceding goals. If he at some point manages to patch the defense he can still become good. The thing is I am not quite sure he is the type of character to excel at coaching tho. He surely is smart enough but he lacks that natural intensity and extraversion to motivate young players. Like most introverts, when things go bad he turns inwards and that sends the wrong signals in a team sport. He would be a great politician with how articulate and diplomatic he speaks. Hence, I would gladly have SFL on the board or in an adisory role. His signings, even though not every one has worked out so far, were all pretty spot on in terms which kind of player were still needed in the squad and we are still reaping the benefits. Plus few ppl are as well respected and connected within the club.
  8. Tottenham were in contention to sign Adama traore but he stalled until Barca got in. They also reportedly made an offer for Luis Diaz but he said no thx on the spot. Great thing is both would have improved Tottenham and given them more tactical options so it is awesome they got neither. well we signed dylan williams and got Kenedy back - close enough for the board....
  9. Everton coach interview process has more rounds than the 12h assessment centre at fkin deutsche bank lol
  10. True . We might get away with it if our system change to 4141 bears fruit. apparently this is our solution now. Instead of signing quality wingback back ups like city we shift the system once rj and chilly are out. Would be ok for a small club but really disappointed with the board and their ambition. If we had only signed an upgrade on Alonso we could have still salvaged an outside CL chance
  11. I really hope you are right . Hate that club since their players literally beat our youngsters up in the carling cup in 2010. now even more So far they have only signed trash but if they get genuine quality like guinaraes they stand a choice. Watford are in chaos and Burnley is well Burnley. I do think they have a realistic chance but will dance on their grave if they fail
  12. Yup. maybe not quite as fast as he was before, but he was one of the fastest players in bundesliga in terms of top speed before and still is very quick for a defender. I think he recovered better than Zouma and quicker. But it is no coincidence he has a lot of niggling injuries. Mostly back and knee problems. He is not naturally built to play an endurance based sport on a top level. If he was born in the US, he would probably be an NFL tight end or offensive center now. That is why i said slight and not definite upgrade. The player himself, yes, is an upgrade but i do have doubts about his career longevity. At leas the had covid twice already so might be immune for another few months^^
  13. really disagree. of all major italian cities, turin and milan are probably the worst industrial while insignificant shitpiles London is a global capital. Probably the most international city. The leading financial and cultural hub. Nothing compares to it. It's beyond beauty or ugliness. A lot of the appeal of Chelsea FC is that it is in London from the best part of it. Greaves said it best. " It’s probably the greatest name in the world: Chelsea. You think about it. What does it conjure up? It conjures up the best part of the biggest city in the world. It’s magical.’ "
  14. Yeah we should not keep hold of him long term. but we will lose 2 or 3 cbs in summer and need a bit of stability there. Don’t mind him staying till 2023. He ultimately is not good enough to block a place for a really talented youngster but I currently don’t see who that would be yet. Esp not at lb
  15. Süle for Christensen is a slight upgrade far stronger physically, faster and equally good on the ball. The injuries are a concern ofc
  16. I disagree, international football sucks and ja rightly shunned by more and more viewers most ppl I know don’t bother watching qualification games and friendlies anymore . the World Cup is still a hit sadly but apart from that not exactly prestigious Messi did this in 2016 btw. Temporarily Resigned from the nt till wc 2018
  17. yeah but he could make a deal with their coach that he can play the world cup but sit out those meaningless fixtures till then. i think he is just a driven man who still wants to play as much as possible and not every coach manages to save him from himself.
  18. I mean he is not terrible has had 2 torrid games last fall but apart from that been ok. 100 times better than having the lanky liability on the field also sarr turned 23 yesterday, still quite young for a defender. Can surely pull off being a conservative left back and lcb. Pacey, reasonable on the ball and in the air. Should be able to improve his upper body strength will never be a great footballer but as a squad player for the rest of the season …Fine by me
  19. Nah we are stuck with him he will continue to do a winston Bogarde but on the pitch
  20. Never was a fan of his in the first place he showed a few nice glimpses but i stay with my assessment that he will not become a top player here
  21. Doesn’t matter if we win or lose, if we play well or poorly, if he gets a lot of balls or few - he is shit
  22. It’s a 7.5 hours flight. I don’t think you can do such a long flight one way within Europe but the main thing is they have to get adjusted to the climate, the time difference and rest after the travel
  23. I do hope we have a two squad solution for this. Let the main guys go to the Emirates already and play the reserve’s vs Plymouth
  24. He still has age and time on his side but it was apparent he needed to be told to take on a slower fullback tonight. With his experience he should know that himself just needs to get his confidence up. We need 1vs1 players and him to realize he is one
