Ziyech and kovacic injured just perfect

I think the situation is a bit more complex. the club aka Chelsea FC plc is owned by Roman's investment holding Fordstam Ltd. Both are Uk assets, so could be seized. But since fordstam is the parent company it would probably be seized first and placed under administration. The club would then be at the mercy of that administrator. They would probably still allow the club to remain in operation and as long as we are financially stable and not acutely in need of financial aid from Roman, we could live on without him. But as Fordstam also carries our refinanced debt the club could be forced to pay that off which would be problematic. The club has existed before and will be there longer than Roman. What bothers me most tho is that the whole situation will probably drag on forever wihch will leave us in uncertainty for ages, will find it hard to attract a new buyer etc.

That looks almost certain now... the tanks just started rolling

Lukaku may suck and probably is mostly at fault for not playing his role better. But the question does remain. why does TT not relieve Lukaku a bit of his focal point role, let him share it with Kai and roam around his favourite space, the right channel a bit? Lukaku is quite obviuosly unable to be a focal point. We do look very static at times, so whilst lukaku is making an absolute meal out of it, heis not 100% at fault only.

His opponents tmrw will be 38y.o. Jose fonte and the giant Sven Botman who is porbably the only player in the competition who is even less mobile than Lukaku lol His chances are quite decent i would say. Still will have 0 impact on our play even if he scores 2, he will contribute nothing else.

only 7 weeks out but feels like we have been playing with Azpi as rwb an absolute eternity

Yeah, got me fooled with that too. Needed more than half the match to figure out we were playing a back 4 with 4 CBs, 2 of which out of position bc it was shown as a back 3 in the build up and Ziyech and Sarr were our widest players. TT also confirmed it as 4-1-4-1 in the post match. Ziyech is a very unorthodox winger with his lack of pace but you can see why he prefers the wing over an AM position. His left footed whipped crosses are just more effective from farther out, a position which also gives him more space to execute said balls. Just a shame Lukaku is oblivious to them. Wasting Kai on the left wing is something i do not understand so far as well. By far his worst position in attak. Pulisic on the other hand gets felled far too often down the middle and has more space on the left wing, by far his best position. Maybe it is a tired attempt to confuse the opponent. Sarr was terrible but he did create that one Kante chance which should have been a goal already. His performances are quite a bumpy ride but you can see how he learns something new every time at least. Still why did we bring back kenedy and allow harvey vale on the bench if we are never gonna play them even in these kind of matches and rather switch formation?

Just knew you would research that and come up with some visual undergird lol Tbf there even is some similarity ^^

yup https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/06/sport/kyle-walker-coronavirus-party-apology-scli-gbr-spt-intl/index.html did you honestly think i made that up lol?

This rumour is extremely stubborn. Despise the guy as a player. Absolutely useless. Eder is a very fitting name for him tho. Eder is also the name an old bumbling carpenter who befriends a goblin in an incredibly lame German children's book. Both Eders are roughly equally good centrebacks.

You can't compare him to a player from the 70ies either. BAck in the day striker would get away with being only a goalscorer. More recent guys like Roy makaay, Pippo inzaghi were not much more either but today strikers are supposed to do more. Sure he is playing bc of the price tag. But at some point we have to try without him and will miraculously look improved. Also I have never written him off. He is not underperforming based on his ability, he just is not any better. I don't doubt he will score another 5-10 goals, maybe some important ones. Counting non-penalty goals only it is an average scoring season for the player. But thinking he will suddenly become a well-rounded footballer and provide more than just goals at almost 29 when he has never been one his entire life is just delusional.

Those are two different cases tho. Rooney and Kane would still contribute to their teams overall play. Their quality as footballers and team players has been proven before. Even without scoring, there was value in playing them. Those two in particularl are/were decent playmakers besides being goalscorers. Lukaku however has only ever been a half decent goalscorer and never really a good footballer. His problem is not scoring enough. Not even now when he has scored his lowest in half a season for almost 10 years. His contribution besides goals goes to 0 and that has always been the case. He never really developed enough as a footballer in youth and only got scouted bc his natural athletic ability. when Rooney and Kane were in a rut, they might have stopped scoring but were still decent footballers in a rut. Lukaku right now is not in a rut. He is being his regular self in regular form. The player we are seeing now is simply the player he is. if he had scored that one shot were he was offisde he would have still maintained an ok goal record despite playing awful and just having 7 touches. Maybe next game he delivers the same performance, scores one goal and will feel vindicated. Goals or no goals he never was and never will be any better than what we are seeing right now.

what a game thats why i try to not miss this fixture, let alone a conte pep clash spurs show what you can do with excellent attackers despite average defenders.
-
ridiculous defending by walker really should move to breaking lockdown to meet prostitutes full time
-
kane with the winner
-
great pen. took his time and lashed into the corner 7 pens in 11 for city now this one i woul dhave given too tbh. he literally beats the ball away with his hand above his head.
-
its amazing how many big calls AT gets to make
-
what a stupid handball should be a pen
-
and kane looks like he has cracked a vertrebra
-
would not be the worst in the long run. spurs will win a league cup at best and kane and son will wash away their last prime years at a mediocre spuds side till they eventually implode
-
Kane is slaughtering city the 3-1 has to be offside tho
-
too much has been made out of their comparison. As player types they are different as night and day. Drogs was a very technical striker who could score from any distance, with either foot and was paritcularly dominant in the air and on big occasions. Rom is the complete opposite, has terrible technique and ball control, only shows up vs relegation fodder, hardly scores from outside the box and is average in the air.

TT must be absolutely trolling the reporter blaming the time difference (4hrs) and temperature difference. He says 30 degrees difference when in fact it was more like 15degrees. Azpi and CHO having missed training and not made the bench however is true and probably would have changed our approach to the match. The Cup final is where i really want and expect us to turn up, esp with liverpool playing on wednesday and having to make a longer trip to wembley.

I do think we can actually play well without lukaku and chilly and Rj back, we had quite a good run even against half decent teams like leicester and Juve. Even lukaku looked ok vs aston villa and arsenal when our flying wingbacks played. He will still be a liability in most matches ofc. That being said, i dont mind playing poor attacking football as long as the defence is solid and we keep winning. I have watched 10 years of SAF having his ugly manUre teams playing an absolute abomination to the eyes and still win a ton of league titles in that time. I think all of out attackers are very much dependent on a coherent system tho. When you look at City, players like Bernardo, Mahrez, Stelring, they played in very different systems at their prior clubs before and still looked quality. Bc they are great 1 vs 1 and can create chances on their own and from nothing. all our players rely heavily on guys making good runs around them or playing accurate passes into their stride. City play nice intricate passes until they reach the box and from then it is more improvisation and individual talent to create and score goals. Pep said it himself. his philosophy is basically built around faciltating great players do their thing. He would suck with our personnel as well. If our board were competent enough to buy proper attackers instead of so many nearly players who are just this little bit lacking in those very important qualities, i think we would be looking at this differently.

Lukaku had just 2 touches in first half and one was the kick off lol cant count more than 10 in second half either.... Well, lets see it positively,he did not cause more than 10 turnovers then either.
