  1. this is so stupid. The ref's have a mic on, get the recording form that. listen to it, get his opinion, get witnesses opinion, sentence. done. get it done in 2 days tops. sorted. to prevent this, and any bad decisions by the refs that can lead ot tempers being raised, lets get some video technology, they have it in nearly every other sport, lets get it, the games will be fair, and then we can see some quality football. WHAT a game it would have been on sunday 11v11, would have been a great advert for the league. even 11V10 which it should have been, would have been a great game and still fair. Wrong decisions by the ref isnt entirely their fault and i personally feel for them, human error, you can't help it, its a hard job. give them access to replays and all this will stop. it may add an extra 15minutes to a game, but every game will be fair!!! Racism aside, Clattenberg did what he thought was right, and thats his decision and its what hes employed to do. he has to stand by it, if he had access to a replay he could have altered it. maybe introduce a challenge process like in tennis. about the racism, it's mental. its hard to belief a ref would say such things. especially during recent times when racism in football is hugely in the public eye. its hard to believe he would say such things. but if the club complained and hte police are involved, there mut be something in it. if its just a complaint made by the players and chelsea in the moment, then this could end up horribly - club fines, player suspensions (Mikel and Mata - assuming it was them who complained). this must be dealt with quickly else its going to get silly and there will be stupid rules put in. like the recent FA rules, where one of the rules is to employ black people and other ethnic groups at senior roles in clubs... mental, i think it was sam allerdyce who was saying how stupid it is, the jobs should be given to people based on that persons skills and qualities, not the colour of their skin.
  2. We would have won with a 11. Even with 10! We played well once we settled. Ref is useless, nothing we can do now so let's Fuck them on wednesdays with 6 dirty goals. Another slight positive: sturridge has to play and we'll see more of azpilicueta. Stick this game behind us, we still came out looking the better team and a true title contender. Chelsea!
  3. This is going to be another good game to watch for a neutral just like hte Arsenal and Spurs game. there will be goals in it. Torres will start, but it will be nice to see sturridge for al ong period of time. with our attack we should bag a few goals so its just down to our defence to keep them out. if United go with De gea in goal we could see Torres getting a header or 5. I honestly believe this is a game we should be winning. we have looked the best team in the league at the moment. It's improtant we dont panic and lose our defensive positioning as we saw in the game last night. Mikel and Ramires need to primarily be in defense mode. 4-3/2 Chelsea.
  4. just finished the game. Shame Sturridge didnt get much of the ball whilst he was on. hope he starts a couple of games int he near future. my main observation was defense. and specifically the 2 defensive midfielders. for some reason they were both getting forward for too often. even Mikel was roaming forwarded. and for this reason it left too much space open. when we were 2-0 down it happened a lot more, obviously because we needed to get some goals, but saying that, against Spurs we kept our cool and stayed strong defensively and our patience paid off... Hopefully it was just a poor choice of tactic and we will see our usual defensive discipline agaisnt united. We had many corsses (like the one Oscar scored) in the first half, and a lot of the time it comes down to fortune with those, but we could and should have bagged a couple of those. Luiz had anoter one of those games where he likes to become an attacking midfielder which agian left us open, and Terry was way of the pace, but to be fair he shouldnt have to combat with an attacking player with 20 25 yards of space behind him. Ramires needs to get in to a defensive mind, Mikel needs to stay put, as does Luiz and we should be fine agaisnt United. we;ve got hte quality in the final third, we just have to be patient and keep our defense tight whilst we wait for the goals. second half wasnt too bad, its a shame we lost, Shakhtar deserved their win, they were a very good side. its a good thinh Juventus drew. hopefully we can beat Shakhtar at the bridge (will be the first game this season ive seen at the bridge! cant wait!) we'll be alright. just want to see sturridge start a few games.
  5. you're probably right. god I miss Drogba. Drogs is a perfect example to all ageing footballers to how they should play their game. he had it down to a tee.
  6. You may be right, manpe. but the way i see it he still lacks confidence. i think he doesnt understand he needs to adapt his game, im watching the game now and hes making touches that give away the ball and we see a lot of that from him, BUT we also see these nice touches that completely rinse a defender or two and he pops a cross or pass in the box. the problem is he shouldnt be getting pushed out wide where he needs to put a cross in. I think he needs to understand he's ageing and needs to work on adapting his game. how many times did we see drogba last season literally taking a touch then shooting. drogba rarely took on defenders over 10 yards. anyhting under 10 yards drogba could take a touch, decieve a defender and either shoot or lay it off. Torres needs to start to do that and we will see a lot more goals. hes trying to hard to take on defenders, out run people, and dribble for too long. he's not got it in him physically to be able to do that all the time. if he can adapt he will become effective. I realise im saying he's ageing and i know he's not THAT old, but he appears to be in rapid decline with his physical attributes. Maybe he cant adapt and we will never see a class season from him. i hope he does improve though...
  7. I was always one to say it was the system letting Torres down. and i still stand by that for the majority of last season and the first few games of this season. but recently hes been getting the ball a lot more, and when comes to doing his job e.g. scoring or at least breaking free and getting a shot off, he doesnt, he's too slow on the ball, seems to look for the pass more instead of the shot. and he seems to be getting tackled far too easily. he's lost pace as well. it's almost like hes a typical awesome striker... at the age of 35.... Sturridge needs to play there, even if its just to kick some sense in to Torres. I still have hope for Torres and think he can return to his old self, he needs to become more selfish. the problem with Sturridge is I think hes an opposite to Torres. Sturridge tends to be very selfish, which is good when he comes to having to break away, or take on a defender to score, but when theres a pass on that will lead to a shot on target, he rarely seems to pass it. but hes had plenty of time to mature and make these passes, he just needs some game time!
  8. I think With Terry's ban and Lampards injury, it could be a gift. We will ahve to see more of Cahill, and we will be able to bring someone else on as a sub in midfield instead of Frank. for the next few games I think we will be ok. I agree with 'Reddish-Blue' on that sturridge needs to play now he's fit and i think against United in the capital one cup is a great chance for him. and against swansea. then hopefully his performances are good enough that we start to see him a bit more, im certain he can do more than Torres. the only worry i have is htat he isnt as creative as torres, torres creates a lot of chances and a lot of good passes (but does give away the ball a lot as well...) I would like to see Azpi as well in the very near future. In this game, im only 20minutes in, and to be honest, its nothing special from us so far, but its nothing disasterous. Donetsk first goal had a fair bit of luck on it combined with some sloppy defending. by the sounds of it and what ive seen so far, it was a below par performance and we should have at least got a draw from it. the formation is a little bit different as well. its very very narrow. Ramires is being pushed up further and its leaving us open at the back. seeing more of a 4-3-3. Hazard has just come on and i assume the formation goes to the usual 4-2-3-1. Would have been a lot worse if Juve won. I shall carry on watching but i doubt ill need to change anything ive said. Cant wait for Man United. Im sure we will beat them. 3-2/ 4-3
  9. anyone know the financial rewards for this competition? I would like to win it. i cant see us not winning it, even if we go and put a 'weak' squad out we will dominate, our 'weak' squad can give anyone a battle.
  10. Solid performance from us. The first 10minutes of the second half wasnt all that good. but its exactly what spurs aimed to do, and they did it well, they just couldnt defend the quality we had after that. we are playing very well, very calmly and patiently and its beautiful to watch. Man city were lucky to get all 3 points today. hate that. Arsenal losing at the moment. If we can keep this up all season I dont see us losing a game! we seem to be getting better with every performance. CHELSEA!
  11. good half. can't really complain about anything. Torres is always a talking point, and he's done alright so far today. Fair scoreline at the moment. i expect the second half to be harder as Adebayor is likely to make an appearance because Defoe is doing nothing. Spurs looking alright in defense to be fair, but HOM doing well to thread through them. hopefully another goal in the second half will sort it all out. Spurs could easily pinch a goal though, and if that happens i can see it being a very firey game with a red card in it. BLUEEEEEEESSSSSS
  12. feels like christmas. Stupid International break. time to do some accumalators, a scorecast or two, and sort out my fantasy team. welcome back club football! looking forward to this game, its a great game to start the day off! having said that, if we lose i will be in a foul mood allllll day. Hopefully Mikel and Rami in the holding positions with HOM infront. anyone know if Sturridge is still injured? he wont start, but may be nice to see him come on as sub for torres for the last 20minutes.
  13. ok ya, granted, i mean more in the sense that once you see the line up you can tell the tactical approach of RDM. if Rami and bertrand appear on the wings, we arent going to score too many. but if HOM are behind torres, you know we will likely score more goals and it'll be an exciting game of football to watch like Vs Arsenal and Vs Norwich.
  14. can't wait for this. International breaks are so annoying. got a feeling we might see Ramires on the wing for the sake of Bale. however, i really hope we dont see that, having Ramires in the DM role can still pick up Bale and leave us to have Mata, Oscar and Hazard on the attack. I'm happy with Cahill coming in for Terry, i even think that it may actually be the right move. Defoe is very good at running through defenders and i think JT would have struggled. This should be a win. Yes they beat United, but united aren't exactly playing well. they are doing their usual "we play shit and still win in the 90th minute" football. we've got this. This is one of those games where once you see the line up, you'll know if we are going to win it or not!
  15. I think we all knew even if he appealed that he would still get the 4 match ban, but dont know why they didnt appeal so he was available to play against spurs. Oh well, Cahill's time to shine. may even see Ivanovic back at CB and Azpi getting a run out at RB.
  16. I can see Cech being our captain, but this would only be for a couple of seasons. i totally agree with Cahill. I can also see Mikel getting it. Romeu would be interesting, but he doesnt seem to have that verbal confidence just yet - but could be in the future depending how it goes. it is a tough one! my bet would be: Cech then Cahill.
  17. couldn't think of someone better. not only is he an absolute laugh, anyone that follows him on twitter will see he is always playing with his young relatives. also his passion for the game is very present and he will be great at that role. hopefully itll be a long term role. when his playing days are over he'd be great at youth promotion
  18. My love has grown if anything. i've been a supporter of chelsea all my life. but id only watch the games that were on TV IF I was available (but i would always keep up to date by checking scores online or on my phone) but never really cared for reserves/youth. last season i was really excited and got in to it. the last quarter of last season i was all over it. and over the summer i signed up to this forum and i've thoroughly enjoyed myself. its a great community here. I moved to somerset when i was young and chelsea fans are sparse, so its hard to strike up a detailed conversation with any other fans. but here its decent! i love it, i study it, and i love reading peoples views and seeing what people see about my points. over the summer i was well in to all the transfer gossip and the signings we made may have boosted my excitement because so far this season i have seen every single game in full either live or a replay online. I'd like to add, im greatful to those who contribute with payments to this site. i will in the future, but as a 3rd year uni student i have below 0 money. but i am greatful for this site and i enjoy it. id say over the last 3 or 4 years my passion for football in general has grown. I follow whats going on at other teams, not to great detail, but im up to date with injuries etc. but to the thread starter, its obvious other things are going on (congrats) so its natural that you dont have time for hobbies and interests. dont worry bro, you'll find yourself in the near future, after not seeing a game for a while sitting in front of the TV on a sunday with some time on your hands and see a chelsea game is on and you will thoroughly enjoy it!
  19. This is the saddest thing i have ever read on here. im getting teary reading and thinking about it (especially as over the last year and a hald my love for football has grown to ungodly levels) The good news is that I DO know a cure and it works EVERY time: ive heard the best way is to get naked, find a field with cow dung from at least 3 different cows (no need to collect them). another thing to remember is a good quality sound system that you can carry around. you could use an iPod but its better if you have a system that can emit sound to any nearby people. the track you need is the theme tune to Requiem for a dream (ill link you), this song must be played as loud as possible. now, you stand naked in the field whilst the intro blasts out. 40-50 seconds in you now need to make your way to the first cow dung. pick it up. lift it up (presentation of simba style from "the lion king") and then crush it with your hands. now do exactly the same to the second cow dung. for the third cow dung you willl need some fluid with you and a basin to mix it up in (you can prepare this before hand). you need to reduce the dung to a fine paste which you can then shower in by chucking it up in the air. be sure not to lift the basin up, leave it on the floor and shower yourself by violently squatting down, scooping up some paste with your hands, then leaping in to the air launching the paste upwards so it returns down on your body. with each leap scream "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT". again, be sure the music is playing loud enough so that people around can hear you and your soundtrack. and please do not commece the ritual for dung 3 until the track is at least 4:50 if the problem is still there 1 - 2 days after this, contact your GP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw_rtf4GlLc
  20. Anyone see us buying Falcao with Torres used as a swap? I don't see why torres wouldnt want to go back, and i dont see Athletico complaining with Torres plus a bunch of cash. I think us having Falcao and Torres and sturridge will lead to Torres getting upset, and Sturridge leaving at the end of his contract - so i dont think we can keep Torres. If falcao ends up coming to the PL and its not our club, then we would have really missed out there. the only otehr club i can see getting him is Man City, and by god that would piss me off. Only thing is surely Man city wouldnt buy another striker, they have too much quality in that position already. Im getting wet thinking of Oscar, Mata and Hazard behind Falcao. good god what a line up!
  21. when we went 1 -0 down i wasnt worried at all. i knew we would win comfortably. was a fantastic game, you cna really see players starting to understand each other and their roles now. and i still think we will continue to improve. We must bare in mind though that this was a poor Norwich team who have not been good recently. i liked hte subs RDM made, even Romeu got a few shots in (thats how defensive norwich were). Azpi looks good, still not seen much, but its safe to say he isnt a step backwards for hte RB position. really enjoyable game. could have been many more goals in it. the penalty shouts annoy me so much. i knew this would happen. I am yet to see Hazard dive (and if he is diving, he's a superb actor), i've seen him go down a couple of times a bit easy, but no diving. and this annoys me that hes not getting penalties and freekicks for them. the english referees are way too lenient. in other countires these fouls would be pens/freekicks! and teams are using that as a tactic! the amount of times hazard is fouled is ridiculous. and its because its the only way they can stop him, and they will continue to do so for as long as they are not punished for it.
  22. On tv or online if its not on tv. Probably only manage to see 3 to 5 games at the bridge a season due to where I live and my schedule
  23. Cech Ivanovic --- Luiz --- Terry --- Cole Mikel --- Ramires Mata --- Oscar --- Hazard Torres Thats my line up. would happily fit Cahill in for JT. I like how oscar runs back, almost making it a 4-3-3 at times. also if either mata or hazard are playing behind hte striker, i like how they switch around and share the position fluently during games. My priorities: 1. Premier League 2. Champions League 3. Club WC 4. FA cup 5. League Cup I would like to see Sturridge get some game time on his return, i would love to see more of Azpi, i think this weekend against norwich he should start, he wont, but he should. The formation is starting to settle and the roles of the players is looking good, i like seeing oscar behind the striker and dropping deep. I would like to see a bit more rotation, i love the depth we have at the squad and the quality of the depth and i think we should use it! Our signings have been superb, and this squad will be amazing in a few years time, especially if we continue to add some more quality young players. I've no complaints about the players that were sold, would have liked to have seen Malouda go as well, The only loaned player i regret loaning is Essien IMO. i feel we could have used him here and needed him. he may not have played much but i think he is still a quality player and can play that holding midfield role very well. I honestly see us as title contenders. we have the squad for it, theres no doubt about that. for the champions league I would love to see us go all the way, though depending on the draw, i can see us getting to the semis, would be amazing if we got to the final again - I think in a couple of years time we will be be a huge threat and favourites for the Champions league. FA cup we can and should win. I would like to see us win the league cup, but to consistently play a 'B' team in it. even if we got to the final, i think we should play our players that arent considered key players - should be a cup for them! I agree wiht the others, Marin will most likely be a squad player. Id like to see sturridge come back, get some minutes, and really contend for the stiker position with Torres and hoepfully getting a lot of game time there in the future and then hopeuflly singing a new contract! As we are at the moment, i think we have a lot of potential, and once some of the new signings properly settle in and begin to communicate with others, we are going to be a very strong team. it will be interesting to see what happens around January and i think that could be an important part of our season If we buy/dont buy anyone.
