Hmm - trouble is - where in the 'Premiership' do you get 'time'.... The only chance we have is if we blood the youngsters during the 'worthless cup' - like Arsenal do... Man City also have a relatively (for them) settled squad and WILL hit the ground running IMHO - we need to be firing on all cylinders come the first game against Wigan! Just don't see where we can 'risk' playing him any further - a loan spell to a decent championship/lower premiership team might be the only option.

I thought his Grandad had died - hence the extended leave? I lost my Grandmother last month (now at the age where all relatives are on the slippery slope), and IT IS not a nice thing to happen... So maybe check some facts, before jumping to conclusions... EDIT: Just checked, his Grandad died on 15 July, so at least a week etc needed for funeral...

Must be a cultural thing - USA demands instant success and anything else is shite... Torres may not have scored as many a he should, but you can't deny that he has been a 'team' player, providing some great assists. That's what I repect from a player - not just goals. Like I say could be a cultural thing, in England we are not so cut/dried on things - hence having 'draws' in sport, where in the US has to be a winner / loser. Well he did win us the corner Drogba scored from to level the CL... So in my eyes he's contributed something positive, like all CFC players. Singling him out for hate is unnecessary IMHO...
