Agree, but Central Defenders need a good relationship/understanding Normally it's Terry +1, so Cahill and Luiz will need time to understand each other properly - unfortunately this is being played out in important matches, but is all part of the transition to a new team. Luckily we're still winning the majority. Hopefully Terry can steady the ship and get these guys confidence back and then it will allow them to move on and forge a relationship. Also Cole/Iva didn't play and none of them know Bertrand/Azpi well enough. Luiz is talented - but to say he's the best at Chelsea is pushing it. Dude - Danny said himself 'Training is not like a real game' It's called Match Fitness - EVERY player in the world suffers from a dip in form when they have been out injured. Example, go play pool on your own, easy to play brilliant shots and own the table, now jump into a professional game - it's not the same! I normally agree with your views, but really think you are being a bit harsh on him, give him at least 4-5 games, full 90 minutes. Worst case, you can tell me: Told You Best case: Danny proves he has a future at CFC I agree we still need a big-game Striker (see my posts on Falcao) Whatever anybody says about Danny, at least the guy gives 100% and is not scared to keep getting the ball even after horrendous efforts on goal

Look Danny himself said this was like the 5th time he has started as a Striker, the other appearances where as a Sub. You cannot expect miracles, he did his job to the best of his ability, he has potential and like our other players, if given time will improve. Do I still think we need Falcao, yes. Do I want to see Danny playing more? Yes Can we realistically compare Danny to Torres after 1 full game? No! So lets chill, use the COC to assess Danny further and then see where we need to be. One thing I do admire with Danny though, no matter how bad he fucks up, he never hides and will always want another go, this is a big difference to Torres and makes me believe this boy old be something special in the future...

Ok let me try and sum this up, next morning and all that... I absolutely LOVE our never say die attitude, who would have thought the influx of new players would have allowed this attitude to continue, it's absolutely amazing! This is still a new team, imagine what they will be like in a few seasons! Now defence - really, really, really concerned. We just need to work harder and be more focused, BUT we are in transition, so cannot expect perfection immediately. I was harsh on Luiz, but I can only reflect on what I personally see - and he needs to sharpen up. We definitely need another world class defender for when JT retires. Apart from that, I'm happy, we have true grit and determination, from players we were told would be too lightweight Way to rip up the rule book! Now lets beat Swansea, win the World Club Cup and Capital One Cup - Arsenal look the only real threat...
