We don't need a striker to score? Then why play with one? This false number 9 shit has got way out of hand since that fat twat in charge of Spain used it. Goals win games... It's like saying in F1, we don't need a driver, just some great tyre changers... All of them are important, hence the moniker of 'Team' But to say our striker doesn't need to score is ridiculous... Please show me where I said he will score 3x as many goals? Also, what you are failing to understand from my post - is that if the MAJORITY of his chances come from crosses, then sure his ratio of goals will be higher... That's the fallacy of statistics - they can be manipulated easily to fit any argument... Surely you've heard the term: "Lies, dam lies and statistics"... Do I think Mikel has improved enormously this season? Yes... Would I still replace him? Yes. Stats can be presented to favour an argument - we are not comparing Apples to Apples, no two football games are the same, all teams have different players, different patterns of play for attacking & defending. Can stats alone prove everything? No... So let people express their opinions, if it offends, ignore it - that's what I've been doing and it makes it a much better forum

Of course nothing is guaranteed, but we offered little attacking threat and we had a few chances where another striker might have nicked a goal, would have changed the whole game. Not blaming Torres entirely, 9 other players (except Cech) also didn't turn up, just think if we had a true goal scorer, we would do better and not struggle so much when other players have an off game...

Oscar had one poor game... As for his defensive abilities he works hard and had done a great defensive job in previous games. It's a new system, it's not FIFA or FM, it will take time to iron out the kinks and Shaktar can say what the fuck they like, if we had a striker of any quality, we could have won that game... Instead we have the super Spanish flop, who even manages to tackle himself, spends more time on his back than a cheap whore and has all the physical presence of a 5yr old boy...

Excellent point about our defending of crosses. We defend too narrow and allow the ball into the box - this is bad!!! If we don't address this we will be punished
