  1. Mate have to disagree - The only place to be is right here - Mourinho needs consistency and leadership. Prime example Utd last night - dropped Januzzi (spelling?) arguably their best player this season, but not experienced enough, so he didnt play and Utd could have won that game... Same with our players. You only have to read the matchday threads and listen to the uproar of losing at Palace - now what would it be like if he had selected youngsters with little or no experience? I have said for the past 3-4 seasons, we no longer have a style of play. Jose is trying to build this - then younger players can step in and play, guided by the more experienced players. We have too much to lose - gambling on these players... I know you don't buy that - but as a Director, responsible for lots of moving parts in a multi-national, multi billion dollar business - I would never drop somebody into a critical situation without ensuring proper grounding - it's just irresponsible. Jose is doing just that. Is Chalobah ready? Not yet in my opinion Is Kalas ready? Again not yet Lukaku? Drifts in and out for Everton, is he the answer to Chelsea's problems? Maybe - but he needs to accept 2nd place for a while and learn, can we afford that learning curve? Not really... So it's never an easy decision - balancing opportunity with risk and I think Jose has done well. I mean seriously nobody called Azpi as potentially the best LB in the league - except Mourinho...
  2. Hi, Anybody that requested to add me as a friend - I seemed to have deleted you all instead of accepting I know I'm an idiot on an IPad and couldn't figure it out If somebody can tell me how to do it on an iPad and resend that would be great Or maybe @Jim can un delete what I just deleted - lol Mods - if this needs moving please move
  3. Here's players that have played for Chelsea recently that define Guts: - Terry - Lampard - Drogba - Essien (pre-injury) - Ballack - Zola - Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (spelling? Been a long time since I wrote that) - Cech - Ed de Goey (spelling - see jimmy comment) - Wise - Le Saux - Vialli - Flo (massively underrated) - Poyet - Makalele (Legend!) - Ferrer (Albert) - Dan Petrescu - DiMatteo - Gudjohnsen (90% last season here he tailed off a bit) That's enough for now... These players gave everything the minute they stepped across the white line, until the Final Whistle... We used to have some amazing Strikers - who gave everything fr the club - now I'm struggling to find one! Even with summer signings, we need a 'worker'. As @The only place to be suggested - Peps teams work hard to create space - we don't at the moment and that WILL change... We need some dead wood shipped out in the summer and some strategic investments and we will be good for 14/15 Title
  4. Yeah but what's a Strikers main role - making runs in behind te defence, creating space - for people to move into... We have a donkey leading our line... Hence no space, no movement and long shots... Honestly. Striker is such an important role in the team - we so badly lack... Sure our midfielders can score - but not all of the time...
  5. Ok shots / chances - then it's the players fault? Why are they taking unrealistic shots? Or did Mourinho tell them to do that too? Look - Mourinho makes mistakes, all humans do - I'm not saying he is infallible. He's working with the players he has - and they simply aren't good enough to 'do if on a warm afternoon in crystal palace' I don't know why that is - it pisses me off considerably, but I know it pisses Mourinho off more! So that's why I'm expecting CL qualification, summer re-org and title champions next season. Anybody critical of Mourinho - answer me this... If we had Suarez up front - would Palace have beaten us? The answer as we all know - is 'No' There's the issue a massive lack of a striker. Occam's razor - simplest explanation is usually the correct one.... Not aimed at you Strike, and apologies to The Skipper if you felt I was being personal - I'm not, just stating my opinion I just hope, come next season I am right. Feel free to quote me if not - and I will apologise.
  6. I normally agree with you mate - but you are asking for the impossible here Our team was shipping in goals faster than Spuds last few seasons. Jose has addressed this - knowing we don't have a quality strikeforce. To return to open football - will likely see us get the pastings that Spuds have. We can't have everything at the moment and losing by the odd goal in a game we should have won is fine by me - knowing the limitations that we have. 20+ attempts on target and NO GOAL - is that really Jose's fault? Seriously? If we had of created 2 or 3 chances - sure I could levy some blame at the manager. But 20+ chances is a lot not to convert even 1 of them! We have to be realistic. 1st season back for Mourinho - we are challenging in the league and in Europe (CL not Micky mouse stuff) - if we can't be happy with that progress then it's a sad day. We are a Ferrari body with the engine out of a 1.1 Fiat - looks good, but does fuck all when it counts. This will be rectified in the summer - of that I have absolute faith
  7. Man I'm going to avoid these forums until the summer... Jose said himself - we are a long way from being Champions. We have no Striker at Chelsea and this will cost us, as it has cost us since the arrival of Torres... Sure you can get lucky in Cup competition- but over 38 games the best team will always Win. Please face reality - we are not the best 'Team' - sure we have great players, but it's not a 'Team' yet. To expect Jose to fix this in 1 season, which has been undone over the past 3-4 seasons is crazy talk We need a summer, a striker and then lets see the real Chelsea step forward. I'm happy with the progress to date and this childish bashing of the manager and players is just crazy. Last week 99% of you were this is brilliant blah, now 99% of you are 'we are shit, everything is shit' - it's almost bordering on a psychotic mentality. Please be more realistic and appreciate the steps forward. Look at Pool under Rodgers - he needed 2 seasons before they started looking better... Moyes and Mourinho should be judged together. I know which manager I would rather have, and which manager has done the better job in his first season... Mou can perform miracles. But the impossible takes a little longer.
  8. Oscar is creative and will be a for e to be reckoned with The only issue here is that he is maturing and adapting at a different speed to other players around him. Impatience of keyboard warriors is the only real issue here. The lad gives 100% every match. As a fan, I can ask no more. Those doubting his creativity will see in the National team - how important he is. Jose has tightened up our defence at the expense of attacking football - likely due to the need we can win by a single goal as we do struggle to score (usually) - last few games have proven this, nothing against Villa and 6 against Arsenal...
  9. A deal with Southampton for Shaw and Bertrand + cash going the other way makes a lot of sense
  10. Ipswich - wow I'm always there at the Salthouse Hotel or Frankie & Bennys eat all you can breakfast for 3.99 The 'Tractor Boys' loved Sir Bobby - so many things named after him around the City
  11. Indeed - at the end of 38 games, the best team wins... I think we have showed some brilliance, but are a long way from a finished product - next season with a striker (how many years have I said this?) things will improve again Just wish we had got 1 point against Villa - can see City dropping points - but 4 - that's unlikely - maybe 2 points, getting a draw at Anfield..
  12. That is true... But that relies on us winning all remaining fixtures... I'm confident we will finish in the top 2 - just not sure which position This alone is a great achievement from where we were the past few seasons (excepting the CL win)
  13. People were annoyed he kissed the Spurs badge at the bridge I like Gus I can forgive him for a minor indiscretion Knowing the Yids they probably wrote that 'he has to do that' into his contract, as is now, they were desperate times at Chicken Lane...
  14. Still think the Villa game will cost us Just can't see City losing at the min... Amazing performance though and glad Azpi got the MOTM
  15. Slightly off topic I have been to Paris about 20 times (not exactly an expert) But - as I get the Eurostar - I always start in the worst area Gare du Nord... At night - Dubai has to be up there - it looks amazing. Budapest is also really lovely, as is Moscow (seriously!) - then you have many other places - like Prague (architecture is amazing) - Cannes is also amazing. You also cannot rule out Venice (except the smell sometimes). Or even Ljubljana (Slovenia). It's all down to personal preference - I agree. Hence it's hard to claim an outright winner... Europe and EurAsia is blessed with many wonderful cities - we are all very lucky
  16. Agree with everything (nearly) but saying Paris is the most beautiful city in the world? Having travelled around a lot - I have to disagree
  17. When I see him I just want to punch him!
  18. Wow your ignorance and stupidity STILL astounds me... We have very few midfielders eligible for the CL. Lampard is 35 - he has to be used sparingly - from your posts I assume you are around 11-12 years old (mentally) - so have no concept of what age does to your ability to recover. Rest assured though, even you will eventually mature and we will see how you get on
  19. I thought Lampard was easily MOTM - he was sharp, quick and kept the ball moving. If Matic had been next to him instead of Ramires - we would have bossed the midfield even more. Ramires had an awful game, sloppy in possession and distribution. Hazard, Oscar, Willian and Eto'o were all guilty of 'poor' decisions in the final third. I kept thinking if this was City or Pool, they would have scored more... Don't get me wrong - I'm delighted with the win - just think it's abundantly clear (to everybody) that we need to work on the final third and ensure the players make better decisions. Times where they could have slipped team mates in, they chose to shoot and vice-versa, passing again, instead of shooting. I'm confident this will be addressed when we have a striker that can play week in, week out - to build consistency and players will know where the striker wants the ball. Both City and Pool have this - we are rotating heavily up-front and it's not helping (but we have little choice). All positive signs for next season.... Again - thought Lamps rolled back the years last night and looked great.
  20. He has been playing non-stop! The kid looks burnt out! Trust me I've worked in Stockbroking and Games development - I know burn out - seen it and experienced it. Whilst we should have more cover (poor decisions on loans) - we are having to rely on him. Fatigue is not just physical it's mental too. Mourinho is an exacting coach - these players are having to think a lot more than just playing football - it's a combination of mental and physical - plus he has a World Cup to come. Mata finally earned a rest and he didnt exactly pull up trees... We need to support our younger players - they are the future... Even if you don't think he's a great player - can you question his work ethic, effort or desire? Thought not - and as a fan, I appreciate that the most. If he was playing shit and acting like Vertonghen I could see the problem, but he isn't.
  21. Oscar has played a ridiculous amount of games in 12 months. The guy needs a rest He's a young lad.. Yes his performances lately have suffered - BUT he was single handedly carrying the team at the start of the season! It's a steep learning curve for him, Hazard and Willian - another summer will help... Please lets stop bashing him - only 'your' unrealistic expectations of a player are making him look bad...
  22. Nobody likes to be down on their team - but Jose has stated it, numerous others have - we don't have the quality up front... This season was always going to be a 'springboard' for future success and nothing has changed - sure we occupy the top spot - but don't let that fool you...
  23. I called it weeks ago - Liverpool can win this title They have some average players playing exceptionally and some great players consistently performing... It's between them and City. I'm happy with Top 3 and a continuation of the rebuilding in the summer.. We just don't score enough from open play or set pieces compared to those two teams... Firepower we lack...
