He is second top scorer in league. He has a few odd games where he does not perform. It happens. Overall he has been a big plus for us. 1 goal away from double figures already. I agree on buying another striker but to supplement Tammy at this moment of time. If Tammy goes on a barren run for the next 20 games or so then yeah but right now, harsh to say we need a new starting striker.

Do you honestly think he would have been signed had the ban not been in effect? Probably. Because the market is so inflated and getting a player who is better than him would cost nearly double the price in this day and age of football. But, yes I think Lamps would have given the go ahead either way.

People were against the price off his showings last season. As of now, it seems like great business. He was coming from Real Madrid and is young. It was a high but understandable price, especially with the ban too. And like I have always insisted, he was not awful last season. He done things well but was frustrating due to his lack of productivity in the final third.

I have always rated him and was quite vocal last season, about despite his shortfalls, he is a very talented player. Good to see him replicate that on a more consistent basis and get the credit he deserves. If you look in hindsight, just imagine we did not take that offer to buy him permanently. We would be in a lot of bother, as Kante has had several injury problems this season. It was a no-brainer. I was shocked that several fans were against us buying him, when we were under a transfer ban.

Terfiffic. Another game where Jorginho and Kovacic especially bossed that game. Their ability to retain the ball is fantastic. Puts the younger players at ease too. The two goals we conceded is annoying, because Zouma and Tomori did a really good job. Zouma is growing more and more on me tbh. Is really dominant and fast and I see improvements in the passing. Pulisic. What a way to get his first goals for us. Not just the goals. He just look a genuine threat and showed signs of what is to come. Is dribbling and pace is going to cause the opposition nightmares. James put in a fantastic cameo too. Looked really bright. It is amazing how we have not really missed Kante. Kovacic and Jorginho are really blossoming together. We have a good set of fixtures coming up too, which we should win before that City game. KTBFFH!

Pulisic ability to knock the ball ahead a bit or two and pull of a shot is amazing. Brilliant balance and turn of pace. Let's hope he follows Ayoze Perez example and his first goals for the club will come as a hattrick.

I am surprised a lot of people feel that Mount needs to be rested. We can rest him in the cup game against United. Abraham too. Bats is a good option from bench. Mount was better tonight and after this game, can have a week's rest, assuming he does not start/play against United. Lamps already indicated that Rudiger will not be available.

Wow. Elated. Deserved win and top credit to Lamps once again. If you had said to me 0-0 before the start of the game, I would have been very content, however after the game turned out, I would not have been happy. We were the much better team and we were carving them open but was just wasteful. I actually thought Bats skied that, but then I saw it went into the net. LOL. You sensed a goal coming but we just didn't have that final touch until then. Pulisic, what a performance he put in. Came on at the right time and put in MOTM performance. Zouma nearly cost us dearly, twice. One with that stupid backwards header and the other with that sloppy pass but in terms of actual defensive performance, him and Tomori were fantastic together and they worked really well as a defensive united. Azpi struggled against Promes initially but as the game went on, he was fantastic. Jorginho was fantastic once again. Kovacic, good. Every player put in a fantastic shift. Alonso was not really troubled by Ziyech too. Probably best performance under Lampard when you consider the team we played, away from home, clean sheet and the fact we were simply the better team against a team who had their full squad available.

If this was 2 years ago then yes, but they are a force once again now. Even with the losses of De Lijt and De Jong, which are blows they still have fantastic players. Added Promes too who is a good addition. I am not surprised Ajax are favourites. We lost to Valencia at home 1-0, while they dismantled them away from home 3-0. They also have a known system they have been working on for years while we are a team in transition despite the excellent work we have done this season.

WOW. What a win and an emphatic one. Willian MOTM by far for me. Brilliant defensive work, constantly chasing back and regaining possession and also setting up Mount superbly for our 2nd. Should of had another assist if CHO scored too. That was a brilliant solo run. So many positives to take out. Another game where an academy player sets up another academy player (this time CHO for Abraham). Mount scoring. And we are in 2 points of City. If someone said we would be in this position after the 2nd game of the season, I would have laughed my head off. We got a nice set of fixtures coming ahead too. Good to go into the international break with a win for a change. Lamps has won me over already, must say.

Hope people always talking shit on his name finally give him the credit he deserves. The amount of times he tracked back and regained possession. Arsenal keep letting these talented youngsters slip from their academy. Gnabry and Malen. Malen got 5 goals in one game the other day IIRC. We have gone through the pain with KDB and Salah, but at least they weren't from our academy and have gotten over that now. That is why I was so relieved when we spurned Bayern's attempts to get CHO.

Well if you read their comments you will see they said he was a threat all game. Skysports also gave him a good rating too, despite giving MOTM award to Tammy. I think we are cherry picking if we are still looking to say he had a bad game I am pretty sure Lamps will have him in the starting 11 next game, if he is fit...

But Willian did put a good cross in the box which was well defended IIRC. Also there was one where IIRC, the ball just evaded Tammy. BBC also gave him the MOTM too. The set piece goal they scored should have been defender better either way. Willian provided the winner in the end of the day. More positive than negative, of course. But not surprised with Willian, when people rather focus on the negative than the positive.
