  1. About time he started, especially with Odemwingie suspended for 3 games. Big chance for him to prove himself
  2. Will be funny if Torres scores and we get the stupid comments such as: "What are the Torres haters saying now?" Doesnt really prove anything, we are at home and these are games he should be scoring in. The scrutiny will still be on him, but if he has a shocker today I will lose literally all my patience with him, especially with Arsenal coming up.
  3. He is fine and doesnt look tired at all. He has got a good week's rest after this, presuming he don't play against Wolves.
  4. Like the lineup. Good thing is if we have struggled to breakthrough or want to finish of the game he is our best option to bring on due to his pace, trickery and dribbling ability. Look how dangerous Moses was when he came on against QPR. Hopefully we take advantage while Man City and United face Arsenal and Liverpool.
  5. Falcao won't stop scoring. That is the difference.
  6. Goal.com can stir a little and make stories up but if true I can understand Sturridge attitude. He deserves to start much more upfront but has not been given the chance to so far. All subsitute appearances and he should be given the chance to play more upfront which is his favoured position
  7. The real problem is that he is history. He is not good enough anymore, like Owen they were both brilliant at Liverpool but they are not good enough to replicate the same form at any other club
  8. Regardless, this talk of working hard needs to stop. It is quite ridiculous. Kezman use to work hard and drop deep but he was awful at us. Does that mean we should keep him? Not at all. Torres is here to score. I hope that if you and the other people who like Torres for is work ethic are not the same ones wanting Malouda out because it is horribly contradicting. Malouda works hard but many people don't appreciate this and think he is a crap player. I don't think Torres is awful but he is not good enough to be our no.1 for a whole season. But I find it a concern that in our last 3 matches: Atletico, QPR and Juventus Torres has been a mere spectator. Not good enough for a £50m striker, regardless of how much effort he puts in.
  9. To be fair in an aerial battle no Chelsea defender will deal with him. It is just about which player has the better anticipating. We rarely concede to Stoke at home despite their huge strikers so I am fairly confident either way which CB RDM decides to put out
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt19y30B5sc&feature=related The day I see a goal like that from Torres here would make my day
  11. Ok but the goals against Sunderland, Blackburn and Arsenal were all goals of a difficult angle and worthy of a goal of season contender to be fair mate. The technique was class
  12. No it wasnt. Look at his goal against Blackburn which was out of this world and his goals against Arsenal was from that range mate. When Liverpool beat us 2-0 I am sure his second goals was from a distance but even if it wasnt I know it was a very clinical finish. Has not scored any kind of goals here in the same calibre of his strikes at Liverpool
  13. Arsenal in the Champions League quarters/semis where Liverpool won 4-2 IIRC, Liverpool 4-0 Blackburn, Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea. There was quite a few more as well but look at some of his compilation of goals and you would see that he scored some fantastic goals at Liverpool
  14. http://www.westlondonsport.com/chelsea/di-matteo-expects6-quick12-sturridge-return
  15. Sad to think of all the 20-30 yard screamers he scored for Liverpool yet he has not scored any such goal for us. Even Sheva scored the odd screamer for us
  16. Thank you and some others (well one in particular) thinks me making that comment that they are rough is ludicrous. At least someone shares the same viewpoint as me
  17. I still don't take my comment back that maybe he should be a sub against Stoke due to their physical nature. If he starts on saturday fair play to him because he has earned it but I would understand why RDM would decide to drop him to the bench
  18. Yes, but one brilliant goal against Juventus doesnt make him all of a sudden Lionel Messi. We all saw what happened with Deco when he came. Oscar is younger and still has maturing and buliking up to do and RDM is wise to slowly introduce him into the starting 11 for every game. If Oscar had not scored that wonder goal yesterday many people would have expected him to be a sub. We still have many other wingers/attacking mids who deserve to start as well. I would have no problem seeing Hazard-Mata-Moses
  19. What kind of fan wants us to finish second to another team? How you have come up with that conclusion I do not know
  20. We have beaten Stoke every single game at home since they returned to the premiership. I expect another win here, last season we were quite fortunate to win but regardless this should be another 3 points and the history goes in our favour. Oscar had a brilliant game against Juventus but I think RDM might be wise to rest him for this match due to the physicality of Stoke City and due to his slight build and not being in England for long may be best if he was a sub as they will really want to rough him up. I was watching the matchnight phone in after the game yesterday night and they made a good point in saying that because of one brilliant performance for Oscar, everyone will start labelling him the next so and so. He don't need that and now Mata is fully fit and I would say this is a game we need to take advantage of due to the other big teams fixtures. Also play Hazard as he is a key player and we need him playing and rest him against Wolves and also give Moses a start as we can get at Stoke's fullbacks for pace. Cech Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - A.Cole Ramires - Mikel Moses - Mata - Hazard Torres/ Sturridge (If fit)
  21. Thing is we conceded 2 goals but the annoying thing is that there was no striker who was quality enough to replace Torres and we could have easily bought a striker to add competition to Torres but we did not. Had we had someone on the bench week in week out with the same quality as Torres, no doubt he would have been taken off but there wasnt and that reason Torres played whole match but did not show any signs of a striker to fear. Ivanovic was more threatening going forward than Torres. We need our strikers to stand up and Torres is not doing it. He had one good game against Newcastle, the rest he has been awful. The sooner we get a world class striker such as Falcao will help us along way. Yes Mikel played shit and Terry should have done better but it is worrying that Torres is a mere spectator in the match and I am sure it is starting to piss everyone off here, including RDM. I hope Sturridge is fit for saturday because he puts twice the work ethic that Torres does in a match
  22. Torres has been equally shit. Doesnt deserve to be number 9 here, he should be getting goals but does fuck all, I have had enough of him. If Sturridge can't make it for Stoke I would even rather see Moses up front than Torres
  23. Ok fair play to Oscar, scored 2 good goals and has been good this match but now is the time where I would say bring Mata and Moses on for maybe Oscar and Ramires. Sometimes RDM is just takes to long to make the change IMO Edit:Ramires off for Bertrand but I still want Moses on.
  24. Lampard has had a very good game: agreed?
