He was feeding on scraps. I don't get how any striker in our set up would thrive yesterday. Maybe put him in a team where we actually create chances. The line up was poor. Football was poor and the team just clueless. Any striker would have struggled yesterday. There was no width, no creativity. Harrsh to blame him.
-
Very pessimistic about this game but let's see.
-
No Sterling... the lack of width is concerning.

I always was pessimistic going into this game with our injuries and the way we have been playing and the way Arsenal were playing. Thought Potter got his tactics wrong from beginning. Went way too offensive line up without defensive cover. Jorginho in a 2 man midfield against Arsenal with the way they play was suicide. They honestly battered us all game and the scoreline should have been a lot more. We were lost in defence and attack and was only for Arsenal's profligacy why the scoreline looks respectable. I know Potter will take time to get his methods across but I don't know what we have been doing in preparation for this game. The team was lost. Kovacic should have come on first half immediately and Aubameyang should have come off earlier. He was a ghost. Broja did more in his first 5 mins on pitch than Auba did all game. I feel that sometimes Potter is starting Auba on rep and not actually anything else as I struggle to see how Broja cannot get more than one start this season. Sterling barely threatened them at all but what was so depressing to watch was us succumb to Arsenal and look so inferior. We let them run all over us. Mount ineffective. Cucurella's weight loss is obvious as he looks so feeble out there. Newcastle winning topped of bad weekend. If they beat us next week, which I think they will, we drop 9 points behind them already. I normally have some form of optimsm in posts, but not today. Shocking. Injuries played a factor and I thought Arsenal would win but it is the manner we lost which hurts me the most. No urgency and three seasons in a row, Arsenal have now beaten us at the Bridge.

Positives: Mount looked really good. Thought he was our best player on the night alongside Chilwell who got that unfortunate injury. Zakaria looked very good too and I know it isn't against a top team necessarily but very surprising that he has not managed even one minute. Has a good physical presence about him and glad he took his opportunity. Sterling getting back on scoresheet was bonus too. Thought other than the goal he was quiet but a goal is a good way to get back his confidence. I hope he is playing LW against Arsenal on Sunday as if he is up against White, he will cause him massive problems. Cons: Injury to Chilwell and Broja not starting then using him out wide left then wide right. I did not understand what Potter was doing with Broja. I was annoyed he was not starting in first place as he started against Brentford and got subbed (not due to his performance) where he looked a threat but because that was his first ever start, Potter said he always planned on giving him around 60 mins. So I would have expected him to start another game since then and he has not and not as if our attackers have looked great in that period. What was more annoying last night was that he did not even play up front. He almost looked like a LM/LW then a RM/RW and we had Mount at the same time in the CF role. Was really confused. But a small confidence boost before Arsenal. Annoyingly worst fear have arisen and Saka has returned to full training so will be starting on Sunday while our LB who would be most likely marking him that game now gets injured. A shame but hopefully Cucu steps up on Sunday. Bring on Arsenal!

Yep, I actually was relieved they lost to PSV in week as now some of the players from their best 11 will start Thursday. If they had won that and had been guaranteed top spot, I genuinely was fearing next Sunday but now with them needing to guarantee top spot and Saka getting injured today gives me more hope. Albeit Nelson stepped up in his absence and scored 2 and assisted. Perfect game though to motivate us to get some form back and revenge against a bogey team in recent seasons.
-
Yep, doesnt get score much but wreaks havoc with his all round play. Big, big bonus with him out. Allows us to effectively play high line and dominate the ball. It will be a tough game and can see why some think it will be tight, but surprised at how high odds we are to win the game by bookies.
-
Welbeck not in squad. Big bonus for us as his height and pace would have caused us issues.
-
Nice birthday treat for him. He turns 19 today.
-
I expect will be wholesale changes. We already have topped the group and have a massive game few days after. We have the squad to rotate too. I expect to see likes of Broja, Pulisic, Ziyech, Chucky, maybe Zakaria starting. Assuming it will be Auba/Havertx starting against Brighton later, whoever is the sub will start against Dinamo I guess. Gallagher most likely too.
-
Arsenal losing tonight is good for us as now it means they are not guaranteed top spot unless they win their last game of the group. They will win that game but after losing tonight, means they have extra work to do and that is 3 days before they play us. So they will play a mixed team of fringe players and regulars while if they drew or lost tonight, would have completely played a whole back up 11, while we have guaranteed top spot so can rest every player who will start that big game few days later against Arsenal.

Not much mention on Chalobah but he is going from strength to strength each game. He has made massive strides and had another fantastic game. To think that there was talk in summer that he may go out on loan. Thanks God! He's brilliant.
-
Annoying. We weren't great tbh, especially first half. Improve second half. Auba should have come off for Broja imo earlier. He did not have much chances but he did not help with the press. Chalobah was brilliant though. Has been putting in consistent performances regularly now. Brilliant game he had. Happy that Arsenal dropped points finally. Made me a bit happier this wekend.
-
I think he accepted that already. He knows he will never be a automatic starter. He has started a lot more games than I imagined and he probably himself would have imagined.
-
Kepa has been brilliant last few games and deserves to be no.1, but sometimes I am of thinking that you sometimes have to play the team that suits the opposition. Brentford targeted Martinez in their game against United earlier on in season by constantly lumping the ball forward and getting set pieces. Kepa will start, but Brentford are a team that have switched their style of football since being in the PL and now very direct. They will lump balls forward and target a lot of set pieces. I noticed against Villa, that even a lot of set pieces they won but a lot of their headers glanced wide. Brentford will be even more dangerous on set pieces and part of me is thinking that Mendy may be the better choice for this game. Even I know this won't happen. He just is a lot more commanding in air than Kepa.

Mount is getting back to his best. Our best player in our past 3 games now. Brilliant free kick. We rode our luck sometimes. But fairplay. Kepa was brilliant too. He does scare me on corners though wow 😄 Also special mention to RLC. Thought he was brilliant. He bossed that game. Rarely lost the ball and was an engine all game. His physical presence was really useful. A big, big win. Another clean sheet too. 4 in a row!

Really lucky to be going back in the lead. We have bene outplayed bar the first 15-20 mins. Please take off Chilwell. We have already seen what has happened in games this season keeping players on a yellow eg Koulibaly, Gallagher. Need to assert ourselves more second half.
-
That was so selfish from Allsani. All he had to do was square that for Goosens for a simple tap in.
-
Barca are out! 2-3. Even a draw they practically out.
-
Barca currently out. I think I count for every Chelsea member in saying that they will be delighted to see that with they way they conducted themselves this summer. Just deserts!

Impressive performance. Two B2B 3-0 victories and good to see many of the academy boys integrated once again. 6 in total once again. Nice to see Chucky get a run out too. There was a lot of surprise when he went to us as people thought he went for money because apparently a graveyard for young talent even though we have been developing and giving young players chances for a while now. I thought Mount had a very good game. 2 wonderful assists which will give him a huge boost in confidence. Seems to have gone under the radar but I thought Chalobah was excellent yesterday. Bossed that game and looked very comfortable. Glad for Pulisic too. Wonderful finish. When we lose, the usual 'we miss Kante was brought back' but all we need is an identity for the team. These home games I have always said we can take it to the opposition and boss the game and good to see we have won the lost 2 comfortably without him. RLC is getting better and better too. I use to sigh when I saw him on the team but he has a renewed sense of energy and is dominating games. Interesting that Potter has followed Tuchel in playing him so he obviously is impressing the managers on and off the field. Big game on Tuesday to focus on now and some key players got a rest who will be in the team against Milan.
-
Playing Wolves at a good time. No Neves, Neto or Collins. Collins is their best defender. Neves is their best midfielder and Neto is their best winger. Traore isn't 100% yet also as although he has poor end product, is always a threat. Also won't have a new manager in time for the game.
-
He is referring to Kepa, not Mendy 😄

Always been a fan of gold kits and like what I have seen from leaked images and want to buy one once it is announced officially.

Dull performance so far. Crowd completely flat at our game and City game (probably to do with Queen) but no coincidence that both us and weirdly City have no tempo whatsoever. Fans make a big difference. Need to up the tempo real fast second half.
