  1. Genuinely don't think that will play a part in his decision at all. They can communicate in so many ways these days and seeing each other, when you are living in England. Also Richard Olise, probably won't even be here in a few years time. He will make decision based on football possible financial too.
  2. Don't buy it. They already have Romero and Van de Ven. Bought Dragusin in January who was wanted by Bayern and can't get in the team. He can play as cover for Udogie whilst injured but either way wouldn't make much sense.
  3. Whatever happens, I hope we don't get rid of Madueke. Although he needs to improve on consistency, there was several games last season where you can see he will grow into a really good player and was a complete menace for opposition. He offers something different and should be kept in squad regardless of Olise's possible arrival.
  4. United need him more and will pay him more. We have the London factor, but like how Palmer is our main man, Olise is practically the same if he goes United. If he comes us, will be very exciting to see but I am sure Olise has been targeting United for a while and while they are in a mess, if they sell their future project to them and pay him massive wages (like Sancho) I think he goes there.
  5. I don't think Olise's first choice is us. I think he will go to a team where he sees himself being the out and out RW for years to come. United, the position is made for him. They desperately need a RW there. Although we could do with him, I would say United need him more and would pay him higher than we would as well. City, I think may be in for him too as their team is ageing sliglty and could do with another RW. Bayern have been linked and he would thrive out there, but is he ready to move to Germany right now, I am not sure. My money is he ends up at United. Let's see.
  6. There was about £10,000 difference between wages offered. Arsenal did not offer half what we offered. Arsenal fans and pundit based Arsenal fans were bitter that he chose us so wanted to say that he went for money, when that was not the case.
  7. The manager will implement a more possession based side, but ultimately we want to score goals and while Alvarez may be a goof fit for that, he just isn't the guy we need for our no.9, how I see it. We want a CF to score goals. I feel we need a target man kind of striker who is good in the air, can hold up the ball and score. Alvarez wiill not do that. Like I say for me, Alvarez is best suited when playing off a target man. That is because the club knows Ederson will go abroad. Either be another European league or Saudi. Would not make any sense for him to from City to us with all respect.
  8. Well Haaland's goal record speaks for itself. Alvarez doesn't. Like I say. Alvarez, more times than not, was underwhelming up front when he played for City. I think he actually looked better linking up with Haaland rather than playing alone. Most of Alvarez goals last season were against relegation fodder. Haaland was rather poor in the big games last season, yes but he still easily ended up top scorer in league despite missing a few games too. Alvarez on other hand was outshone by likes of Foden when he played up front. He struggled up front on his own. I just don't think he is worth the reported fee at all.
  9. Assists is good but if we are wanting him to be our main man, he isn't the answer imo. He had several games last season where he played up front and he was underwhelming in most of them. If people are clamouring for Alvarez as our main man ahead of Jackson, clearly did not watch him last season. I watched him a lot last season and he was really underwhelming based on the team he is playing for and considering he got several opportunities up front as Haaland had a few injured spells last season.
  10. Totally disagree. I think he has been bang average this season. I know he is behind Haaland but the few games where he has played up front, he has not convinced at all. I think he would struggle in a lone striker formation for any team bar City. His first season at City he looked a lot better. This season, he has been underwhelming. He may be a better finisher than Jackson but I don't think he is ready to lead the line for us at all. If we are going to go for a CF, defo think we should look elsewhere.
  11. It would be nice for us to actually give him a chance. He has excelled on loan and played a huge part in Ipswich getting promoted to PL. He is not as good as Olise (yet), however he has very similar qualities and a lethal shot on him. He was considered a real prospect at Arsenal. His talent is there. Yes, Olise is a top player but there also remains concerns about his injuries. Not an essential signing. If we want to target a player, should be more looking on the LW and maybe go for Eze. Will be a kick in the face for Hutchinson as well. He made a big decision leaving Arsenal to come to us. Hutchinson will get better and he genuinely looked quality at Ipswich towards second half of season.
  12. He is right though. I take that as constructive criticism. Palmer definitely could of pulled the trigger in the second half but hesitated then shifted it to his left again then spurned the opportunity.
  13. If the move happens as being reported by Romano, it is astute business. Sad to lose an academy product but if Chalobah goes, we have a ready made replacement with PL experience and suits Maresca’s style of play and helps us with FFP. Tosin is a good defender. There is not much difference between the two as well, but Tosin is more experienced playing in a back 4 over a whole season.
  14. I am pretty sure he was on 10 league assists before today's game. He assisted Sterling's goals today, so that will be 11.
  15. Fans are too impatient that is the problem. The amount of stick he was getting for a young player settling in his first season in a dysfunctional team was beyond belief. It is not his fault we paid so much for him, but now we are seeing real quality from him. Finally he got his first goal for the club and in stunning fashion 🙌
  16. I don't think he is that good. I have watched him closely this season and even when he has played up front in place of Haaland, he has not really stepped up. He may be a better finisher than Jackson but don't see anything particular in him as to how he would lead the line better. I personally think if you stick him in another team apart from City, he would look more out his depth.
  17. People were saying previously that his passing is poor and Gallagher’s passing is better. Caicedo is no Fabregas but I had literally provided proof of games where he has completely dominated the passing game. Despite his passing not being great, he still had a pass completion of 92% and yes like you mentioned his pass for Palmer was brilliant and should have resulted in the game. Kante was brilliant but I just disagree with people who say Kante was a better passer because he wasn’t. Caicedo long range passing is hugely underrated and some fans was not seeing it. He has given the ball under pressure but that is also due to the team set up and not enough protection around him. When he was at Brighton you rarely saw those mistakes at all. Even asides from his passing, his tackling is becoming a lot better and you can see once the team settles, he will be a key player.
  18. If anyone is or still downplaying his passing, just look at his passing range yesterday and the winner was all because of his fantastic pass for James. His passing is underrated. May I must add, another solid game from him. Looking better and better.
  19. A lot of the top wingers are very one footed. Look at Robben and Saka for eg. You always knew what Robbem would do but he was just too difficult to contain. Saka is similar too but he is too difficult to contain. Madueke has a very similar style. If he continues to work on his productivity in final third, he will be a really good player. Part of that has to become from his own work and willingness and part of that has to come from the club trusting him and giving him that game time, which he is regularly getting now.
  20. Hopefully we see that against Forest now Gusto is back and Madueke has got a deserved run in the team. You have egg on your face now.... LOL What is your opinion on him now?
  21. See, that is where I disagree. I looked at Caicedo closely last season, especially in Brighton's big games. Last season against Arsenal, he played this hybrid role between RB and DM and he was absolutely fantastic. I remember thinking, this guy is a total baller. They had so many standouts that game but he impressed me the most. They had a game against United last season in the FA Cup which United luckily sneaked through and again thought he completely controlled the game. He might of had one little mistake, but other than that he was brilliant. Then under Potter the season before last, they beat United 4-0. Caicedo probably was 19/20 then. It was a 5.30 game I think. Two now Chelsea boys were on the scoresheet but Caicedo ran the show. Scored in that game too. The potential was clear. As well as being an enforcer, he also dictated the tempo of the game. You only need to see the match report to see why he got MOTM and the stats: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12606328/brighton-4-0-manchester-united-visitors-worst-premier-league-season-confirmed-after-amex-thrashing ⭐️ Man of the Match, @OfficialBHAFC’s Moises Caicedo 🇪🇨 48 touches 31/34 passes completed 5/8 duels won 2 shots, 1 on target Club’s 3rd youngest PL scorer 7th Ecuadorian to score in PL pic.twitter.com/assErDDUZQ — Sky Sports Statto (@SkySportsStatto) May 7, 2022 My point being is clear, let him settle, give him time and get the team to understand the system properly, he will cook. He is able to control games which he did several times at Brighton. If anything, it was when we went to possession football, when Kante sometimes did not look as effective and I thought sometimes especially against teams with low block, I preferred seeing Jorginho and Kovacic together.
  22. We signed Caicedo at age of 21. At age of 21 Kante, was playing in Ligue 2. Caicedo will improve here. I am sure. So if you ask who the better player is at aged 21, Caicedo definitely is. Kante joined Leicester at age 24, but problem with this forum is they treated young players as players who have completed their prime of football. Caicedo is still learning and will get better and I am convinced, majority of people will be changing their words on him. He was fantastic last season. Yes the price tag was high but along with MacAllister and Mitoma, were their best players. But of course people are going to ridicule him and not give him a chance. First season in a disjointed squad. Give him time.
  23. Having more assists does not mean you are a better passer. You can make a pass to a player from 30 yards and it goes down as assist if he scores. I would say Caicedo is a better passer. Gallagher may have more assists but can't remember how many I would actually say was 'astonishing pass'.
  24. Really, Semedo should have been sent off there. Was a clear foul with not really a genuine attempt to win ball. Lucky or this could of gone into double figures.
