  1. I don't get why people are criticizing him for rejecting a move to Saudi. If he does move, then he is called a 'moneygrabber' and mercenary. It would help the move financially, but neutral wise, it is good to see that not all players are after the big paycheck.
  2. Neves moving may change things. Even Mendy going there is young for a keeper's age. Ziyech is 30. Still has a few years left but almost has decided to go there now. As much as people hate Lukaku, at least he has football reasons ahead of money reasons, otherwise he would have moved to Saudi.
  3. He already has agreed a move to RB Leipzig this summer.
  4. He is much more complete than Kante in his overall game. His technique actually is very good. He rarely gets bullied off the ball as he has brilliant upper body strength too. His long range passing is very good too. He isnt a Fabregas but a lot better on the ball than Kante. Better passing range too. I think he is fantastic and will only get better and better.
  5. Disagree with this. I can easily see why, right now, the club is a huge attraction for players. Clear direction of style of football and type of player's they are targeting. London based. They need more depth really, which is partly what cost them last season and that is why they are looking to strengthen. Havertz, Rice, Gundogan etc.. Yes, you maybe right. Arteta, may not be able to keep it up next year but generally speaking, they are much more stable than us currently and have a young team. They don't need to sell anymore too so really and truly, I think they will be around the top three for a while yet.
  6. It won't. This is thing. Not just you, but a lot of people, they are too short-sighted and don't give players time. Fofana was sloppy since Lamps took over but before that he showed some of his quality and looked very good. He is still only 22 and I think the more he plays he will grow into a top CB. His pace and ability on the ball is really good too. You mentioned Ake. Last season, you probably laughed when Ake was our first choice for CB ahead of Fofana. Same as a lot of other fans. Stones was considered a laughing stock a few seasons ago too, however with game consistency and proper coaching has proved to be a top defender. Fofana, I think will be the same.
  7. Wow, had no idea about this. Really sad. Fully remember him making that brief cameo for us. I also remember when he got sacked for the smoke bomb incident. I thought it was harsh for the sack, albeit a stupid thing to do from the player himself, considering he did not bring it in to the premises. Ironically, the other player involved, Billy Clifford, completely fell off as well and plays at Conference level and in recent seasons has been playing semi-pro level. Also shows how much protection and after-care player needs after being released from a club at a young age. Mental health must go through the roof. Also need to be financially advised well too because a lot of players pursue football without any education and if there is nothing to fall back on, can be difficult. I hope he does get the best support needed.
  8. Mendy is better. Meslier is better on the ball, but I would take Mendy tall day over him. Probably Kepa too. I would like to think and do believe this is nothing more than mere speculation anyway and nothing concrete.
  9. That article was from April. No chance he moves to Leicester now.
  10. Kante is our highest paid player and is barely fit. He is on what? £300k p/w? We talk about players on high wages and for a player who is consistently injured as he is and his age, it is completely understandable why there has been a reluctance to offer him a new contract on Kante's preferred terms. Kante may be a modest player but he has virtually won every trophy possible for us. At this stage it is definitely about money and understandably too. He is coming to latter stages of his career so with them offering that amount of money, we will not compete. If he was around 26-27 with his top years still ahead of him, then yes he most likely stays but now at his age of 32, he will consider the best financial move for himself and family. Also in a country that someone else pointed out, that is Islamic, it is a no-brainer for him. Not one I can blame the club on at all tbh.
  11. Yep, very sad. You could see the agony on his face straight away. Coincidentally happened in a challenge with Ampadu who is on loan from us.
  12. They signed Adebayor on loan from City before when they had Mourinho as manager. Adebayor was out of favour at Man City at the time. So it shows a 'club like Real' can also do loans for players who may unwanted at other clubs. They may want Havertz and Kane, but will they be willing to meet the asking price? Possible not and I would not be surprised to see them explore it. He has his limitations but he would score goals over there and wouldn't surprise me if they struggle to get their main targets.
  13. Would not be surprised to see them go after Lukaku on a loan basis, similar to what Inter did. PSG too. Messi and Benzema gone so both teams will be looking for a striker and maybe might look at cheaper methods. Real may well go after Mbappe again in a year's time so wouldn't surprise me to see them go after Lukaku on loan. Might sound crazy but might be more viable for them than getting Kane who is more expensive and 30 this summer.
  14. Don't speak too soon. They have to beat Augsburg first. No Bellingham also. Last time they had the chance to end the weekend on top, they blew it against Bochum couple weeks ago or so. Hope they do win though. Would be great for football if they win the league.
  15. Parker started the season at Bournemouth, but yeah O'Neill took over them after the 5th game. Also, especially as Parker accused the team of not being "well equipped" for the PL, O'Neill did a very good job. Parker will obviously point out that O'Neill was backed more in the market for January than he was for the summer transfer window, but even before the January transfers, O'Neill had them outside the relegation zone and picked up some really good results.
  16. Even though it is highly unlikely we get anything from this game, it is good to know in an unlikely event we were to pull something off, that City would remain top anyway. My biggest fear was after Arsenal beat Newcastle, City may drop points to Everton, then Arsenal would beat Brighton and Forest and we would take points off City. Thankfully my wish came through.
  17. He was sensational. His passing was on another level. Was the reason for the first Brighton goal too.
  18. Thought Sterling was brilliant today. Not just the goals, but he was a havoc all game and was the best player on the pitch. I hope Poch can help him bring his City form back to us next season. Don't know if much people agree but I thought Badiashile was solid throughout the game. Not sure who was at fault for the second goal but his game was very composed, made very good interceptions. Out of today, Sterling, Badiashile and Chalobah can have their heads held high. Madueke showed promise, but just lacked that end product. 4 points from 2 games. Guess you have to take that 😄
  19. The 5ft 8 listings are false. He is over 6ft tall. Brentford had a free kick against Liverpool on Saturday and when Brentford were discussing their free kick routine, he comfortably towered over most of their players in the discussion and they were in close distance of each other. Also he had an interview with Ben Mee after they beat City at Etihad this season and he was slightly taller and Ben Mee is around 6ft.
  20. Odegaard is such a brilliant player. IMO, best playmaker in the league after KDB and one of the best players in the league. I remember when Real sold him to Arsenal and I was damn gutted because I saw a damn good player and thought for the fee Arsenal bought him for was a bargain. 15 league goals and that was what he used to be criticized for. Honestly envious that Arsenal got him. Brilliant player. He doesn't have much weaknesses.
  21. The odds for Arsenal to beat us is shockingly low. Seems the bookies think this is a four gone conclusion… any more motivation needed on top of that this is a London derby and winning this virtually ends their title chances.
  22. You would like to think but I also said the same thing against Spurs. I would love to dent their title chances but it's sad to say I don't see us standing a chance.
  23. Nothing will come off that and rightly so. Kompany didn't do anything wrong. Ridiculous that this is even being looked into. They are registered squad players so no case to answer.
  24. Even if that did happen, the emotion won't be the same. There fans wouldn't be able to brag the same. Our season has been shocking and couldn't come to an end sooner enough but if we managed to go to the Emirates and get something there and help City take the title, that will be satisfying enough.
