As much as I rate him, if he played for us in the way we utilize Fabregas in the big games I think he would struggle. PSG play to his strengths while in big games we don't play to Fabregas strengths in big games.

Much better football! This is what we were waiting to see.
-
Just seen the stats: PSG 10 shots on goal. 5 on target. We have only had 2 shots. 1 on target. 57% possession for them compared to our 43. Think our fans have a right to be disappointed. Those who think our fans are going OTT and stating that the ones who are criticising are being ridiculous etc, just don't comment then. Every fan is entitled to their opinion on how we play. Yes, even in pre-season.

Second game of the season against City. You know this will be the same outfield team bar Willian coming in for Moses. Basically going to sit back, get dominated in possession and look for Hazard on the counter. It may work sometimes but it is bloody frustrating keep setting up this way in every big game. We even do it at home. We are an elite team and in a friendly game we really don't need both Matic and Mikel. You know you are going to get outplayed. Wish we would have a strategy bar sit back and let the other team dominate. Pre-season or not, this is what will obviously happen when we have big games in the league or UCL. So frustrating.

Remy had a good game. How was he bad? He scored a well taken goal, ran the channels well and generally looked lively in his 45 mins. Job done.

I don't think he is better. Ideally, I would want Betrand as our starting LB here as he has all the qualities and came through our academy but because Mourinho was/is not going to drop Azpi from LB anytime soon Bertrand did not want to stay here to play second fiddle. He made it firm that he wanted first team football. Rahman on the otherhand is probably prepared to join a much bigger club, get increase in wages and be backup and play cup matches and sometimes start a few prem games.

You replaced my emoticon you cheeky sod I never had the Chelsea flag there, I had the laughing sign. Don't get me wrong I agreed with a lot of what you were saying about his big game performances but the fact that you listed getting Ibra sent off (which was not a red btw) as a reason of a big game player just made me laugh. You can't actually use that as a reason, now come on

Seriously mate, I get along with you and so on but I have nothing to hate on. I find the way you got into the final embarrasing. We got to the final legitimately without the influence of the ref or any form of cheating. Just look at your games in the quarter final and semi-final. You got through both games without scoring a goal from open play in normal time or extra time. You needed the ref to bail you out by giving 3 dubious penalties. Worse is the fact that he sent the Panama player off early in the first half which was again a ridiculous call and you still could not score against them and were losing the game somehow LOL and you were made favourites after USA to win the tournament. But you got a ridiculous penalty call in the last minute which saved your ass. Even in ET you could not score a goal from open play against them with the 10 men they had and once again needed another dubious penalty call to give you the win. So basically you got through 2 matches undeserved because of ridiculous refereeing. You really don't deserve to be in the final. I have seen some Mexico fans admit they are not proud of the way they got into the final. Costa Rica got cheated as that was never a peanlty and Panama should be in the final because that was never a red card or penalty. The ref was a shambles. No hard feelings, I value your posts on here but like I was saying I have nothing to hate on when Jamaica are in the final and I feel the way we got to the final was legitimate and we beat the favourites and tbh if we got to the final the way you did and the playacting of some of your players, I would be embarrased. Anyway, good luck. I am sure you will not need it when you have the ref and assistants backing you

Can't believe some people are actually saying we should have Ake as our back up LB. It is like because we have not made major signings, some people have become too engrossed in this and think we are becoming the Ajax of England. Ake has rarely played LB for us bar few friendly games. His best position for me is definitely a DM and that is where we should look to develop him. He has similar qualities to Matic really, but obviously just not as good as him. Why do people want him to be our back up LB? We are a team who are fighting on four fronts and look to realistically win around 3 trophies and we want to have a player who has rarely played there as our back up. Are people actually serious? Just look at our rivals. City: Clichy/Kolarov. Arsenal: Monreal/Gibbs. United: Shaw/Blind/Darmian. On top of that Ake does not really the pace to be a LB on a consistent basis. Rahman has been playing in a competitive leauge for a good team on a regular basis. He is a much better option than playing Ake there. Pace, stamina, good defender as well from what I have read and ultimately a natural LB which Ake is not. Are people actually thinking it is necessary to go with Azpi and Ake as our LB this season? Be serious.

I am on one of those who acknowledge Oscar has been very inconsistent but I am not in the camp calling for him to leave because I think he will be a big player for this season and hopefully many more however I do not see how he fits in our system better than KDB. I can understand you saying that about Mata because he cannot run and track back however KDB has vision, dribbling, stamina and pretty much everything. He would have been perfect once he got into his rythm. He is like a complete no.10.
-
That makes him a big game player does it?

I don't get the obsession with Gotze. He is playing for an elite team playing against teams who are no match for them and his levels of inconstency is worse than Oscar. You only have to look at their forum to see the amount of criticism he gets. Why do people think he will automatically be some great no.10 for us if he can't shine on a regular basis for Bayern? If he did come here (which is hugely unlikely) he would be playing in a much tougher league and I have no reason to believe he will actually be a better player for us than Oscar is. But you can see how the players are linked together. Both players have not put in performances on a consistent level and there have been talk that both could be leaving and both managers (Mourinho and Pep) have come out to confirm that the aforementioned players are key players to their team. I will not even look into the stats of Gotze having more goals. Two different systems. At Dortmund he is playing in an ultra-offensive team and at Bayern, it is the equivalent of Celtic of the SPL. Walkover league where most players should look much better than they actually are yet he is bombarded with criticism. I do think Gotze is a talent but do I want him in the team at the expense of Oscar? No thanks.

Ermm, Coman left for Juventus last summer...

Sometimes I will exempt the team from blame if the ref has made a total cock up but Mexico's play antics were just disgraceful which further makes me detest them. Just look at this dive: utterly embarrasing. Should be ashamed of himself. We will be playing against 14 men on Sunday (players, ref and assistants) but I am confident we will cause a surprise. Hopefully we win it and not let Mexico win this.

Relax people, relax. “He was very tired. When the goalkeepers are very tired the coordination is low, the agility doesn’t exist, and the speed of reaction doesn’t exist". "Courtois made a mistake in the first half with the ball at his feet. Begovic in the second half was not sharp in his reactions but it’s a consequence of being tired from training. “I’m so happy to have him and in the next game against PSG he will start. He will play the first half. There’s no problem, it’s just a process.” - Mourinho Like, I can understand people annoyed about the result because we should have done better but the stick being given to Begovic is OTT. Poor game but some stating that this proves how good of a keeper he is etc and one or two 'apparently' Chelsea fans are laughing and mocking him. Give it a rest. He has proved season over season that he is a quality keeper and can make top reflex saves. More questions to should go out to the outfield players of why we allowed NY Red Bulls to score 4 when in reality we should not have given them all the chances for Begovic to be so highly criticised.

Yeah, there is different ways of looking at it I guess. Obviously, Jamaica is who I support in the tournament because my whole family is from there however I support on Trinidad in their games too as they are another Caribbean country and I like to see all of them do well. Anyway bring on the final. We deserve it. I feel Mexico have cheated their way into the final. 2 games where decisions have gone their way which were ridiculous has me suspicious that there is some form of corruption. The penalty given against Costa Rica was a joke and the red card for the Panama player and then the penalty at the end when the ref realised this is only Mexico's chance of getting back in the game was cheating and inexcusable. I really felt for Panama as they were cheated. Hope we beat Mexico in the final.
-
Friendly or not, this is quite embarassing. We have some world class talent out there. NY Red Bulls have a second team out there. The guy who put them 2-1 up is a 16 year old from their reserves ffs. This is not even their first team.
-
Whether people think he is good enough or not, Mikel is our back up for Matic.
-
Just seen Jamaica beat USA. So proud. So much misery for us over the years and we are on the verge of winning a trophy. Bring on the final. Now to the Chelsea game. Finally! About time. Feels like weeks. Looking forward to seeing Traore.

People always make it look like Ivanovic is the problem. I don't understand. He is more times than not, solid for us in defence and attack. He was rightly in the team of the season. I was watching Chelsea TV couple days ago and it was featuring how the league was won and picking out individual performances. Ivanovic as described by Cundy and Pat Nevin was a rock and watching some of the clips, he was a big part of our success last season. Had Sanchez in his back pocket both games last season and for the majority of it was solid in defence. 6 goals and 5 assists and not to mention the amount of clean sheets he has to his name last season. Azpi and Stones as our full backs would be so unamiginative going forward. Ivanovic does not get the appreciation he deserves. He was a key player of our team last season. Stones is not awful going forward but he would not be able to contribute what

Kompany just had a strange old season. I remember when some people wrote Terry off a few seasons ago and look now. The best CB in the league last season. I still think Kompany is a quality defender and can prove himself to be one of the best CB around next season. Zabaleta may not get in to us but would Ivanovic get in to City? We don't need Zabaleta, they don't need Ivanovic. Delph is a very good player as well and they have good depth in that CM department. City look strong next season. Will be a tight title race this season imo.
-
If it turns out that rumours are true and he ends up at City I will be fuming. They will have a very strong team. Silva, KDB and Sterling behind Aguero. That does look frightening. I know we won the league with relative ease but I don't want to see two star arrivals at City and no quality additions from us. We should continue to improve and make ourselves a force. Interesting to see how this ends up. One thing for sure is that City are doing their best to ensure they regain the PL title from us this upcoming season.

You do realise Traore turns 20 in less than 2 months? I would like him to be part of the squad but even if he does perform in pre-season, it does by no means guarantee he will stay here. He still may go out on loan and we are just finding a suitable team for him. If you judged it on pre-season, Boga would have been in the squad or played some minutes this season but he did not. When he played with us in pre-season last season he was outstanding imo. Traore obviously has played first team football in Holland and has a lot of qualities but I have seen it before when youngsters impress in pre-season then are no where to be found when the big thing starts and end up staying with the reserves or going out on loan. I hope Traore is given a chance but just reminding people not to be too optimistic.

I am living in England mate. Normally I would have a rest around 23.30-23.45pm and have a good hour+ rest however because Jamaica are playing at 11pm against USA I need to go to have a rest even earlier. to watch both matches. And I am looking forward to both. Great timing really. Watch my NT play against USA for 11 (assuming no E.T) and then watch my favourite club team play against NY Red Bulls for 1am. Lovely!

That is rubbish. Although when Shaw left for United, they did not qualify for Europe he joined one of the biggest clubs in the world. United are a better team than Southampton, bigger club and in the long run he will be competing for bigger trophies than he would at Southampton. It was a no-brainer really. Yes, he was offered a lot of money but look at the football factors, it was a no-brainer. You don't get much players at 19 being offered the chance to be a regular starter at one of the biggest teams in the world on a regular basis. Sterling was not motivated by money ffs. It was football reasons. Similar with Shaw, he is receiving a lot of money from his new team but looking at football reasons, it is obvious to see why he joined City. A much better team who will be competing for major trophies on a regular basis. Can you say the same for Liverpool right now? Doubt it. At City he is playing with the likes of Toure, Silva and Aguero. Compare that to the quality he would be playing with at Liverpool.... Sterling is better than the maority of attacking midfielders at City bar Silva anyway so he will be starting more games there than Stones would be at us. Fact. Your comment does not make sense. You say Stones is ambitious as he is not just coming for the money but has a willingness to play football, yet you don't say the same about Shaw and Sterling who obviously left their clubs for ambition, LOL. I would like Stones here but unlike Shaw and Sterling who are more or less guaranteed starters for their team when fit, you cannot say the same about Stones. He would need to wait for Cahill to make mistakes first or prove himself when he comes in to be a regular starter.
