InB4 "NOT BELIEVIN ANYFIN UNTIL CLUB CONFIRMS XOXOXOXOX"

If both were to play left back and both were in their prime, Cole >>> Maldini. Bergkamp is Arsenal's greatest ever player; not Henry. Zidane is overrated. He had a poor defensive side to his game & wasn't as prolific as he should have been. Handshakes between players is stupid. There's nothing special about Balotelli. The Bundesliga is currently the best league in the world. Football in general was it its best in the 90's, where-as most of the best players were actually playing in the 80's or earlier. McEachran is only a just-above-average footballer. On the level of Conor Clifford.

I'm happier with him recently. You can see his head isn't down as much and he's taking more shots from daring positions, but still... glad Ba started today, and generally want it to stay that way until he has 3 amazing sub appearances or something. Still want him gone ASAP.

80,000 fans at Wrestlemania. No doubt the majority are single/unsatisfied mums going for the wrestler's bodies with around 2 children with tiny vocal chords. Hopefully 20,000 or so hardcore fans can make this decent and not sound like a Wigan match.

Sturridge looked rather good today. Meh.

I genuinely think he's one of our most talented players - full stop. (Ok forget the full stop, I've more to say.) He adds steel to midfield. He can run, tackle, and distribute the ball well. He's like Malaga's Camacho in more ways than one; which is a huge compliment. He understands the game so well for his age, and I'm pretty sure that we went on a run where we lost only 1 match in 10 or so (if even that) when he started in the DM position under AVB. His lesser performances came when played in the role Mikel currently occupies. A much less mobile role. It doesn't suit him at all. If he can adapt to a 4-2-3-1 I see no need to get a new defensive midfielder at all. I think he's great. A big plus is that he's also fairly capable in defence and wins more than a few headers. I noticed that playing with him instead of Mikel/Rami/Lamps lead to us getting the ball to Mata far quicker last season.

So! Who wants to sign Remy from QPR? With them going down he'll probably want to leave surely. Get a feeling Tottenham will nab him. Blegh. Wouldn't mind Cesar as back-up.

We're really building momentum aren't we? Can genuinely see us finish 2nd if Man City somehow slip up. It'll be very tricky but it's possible. On a personal note, although not his 'best game ever', this was my favourite performance from Luiz. He went forward at the right times this game. He's definitely learning just when and where to be it seems. He's so much more than just a defender. He's a Libero. On the team sheet, yes, he just lines up in central defence - but what you can't take from a piece of paper is the roles players are given. I'm not sure exactly what role he gets given, but at some point during games, he just reverts to his natural style which can be compared to the greatest Liberos in history, or other adaptable players such as Gullit. It's hard to get my point across at the moment because I'm tired, but for some reason I see today as the game where Luiz has taken himself up a notch. 4-4-2 formations throughout history have been what Libero's dread but he handled it very well. We just need to get Mikel dropping back a bit to partner Ivanovic when he goes forward a bit more to get the most out of the role.

Ivanovic - 88% Pass Accuracy 67% Aerial Dulls Won 6 Tackles 1 Goal 3 Clearances I couldn't not pick him for MOTM.
-
We're only winning because of Mikel
-
Hazard has been given a completely different role today. He's clearly been asked to not get forward as much. You can't expect his explosive skillz 2 pay da bilz each game.
-
Luiz is such an important player. Not because of his defensive skills or attacking skills, but more his instinct. I like.
-
Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Mata has been instructing players a lot more than usual today.
-
If Torres gets the winner I'm changing my "Fav Player" on here to Torres for the rest of the month.

WHOAH MIKEL JUST WENT LIKE, 3MPH!!

The back 4 doesn't worry me and I believe it is a good choice. Sorry but Terry, for whatever reason (maybe not getting a string of consistent starts) has been a bit of a liability at times this season, and I'd certainly not put Cahill ahead of either Ivanovic or Luiz even if he was fit. Bertrand is the only choice for left back, and Azpi simply must start at right back otherwise it'd be Ivanovic on the right, Terry-Luiz in the centre, and no centre-backs on the bench.
-
Probably best player so far on the pitch along with Bender.
-
Why do people assume Sunderland will get some magical boost due to having a new manager? Didn't work like that with us.
-
At first I was going to type the following: "1 thing about Schurrle - He looks like piss when played on the right hand side, despite being right-footed. Like Marin, he likes the left, so he can cut in and shoot. But err, don't we have some Belgian called Hazard doing that? Ah forget it actually, he can play in the centr-oh, wait, no, there's that guy called... Mata, is it? Yeah, that Mata guy plays there." Now upon reflection, I've just remembered something we used to have and that I miss - depth. There's no reason why he can't add competition to Hazard's spot and, if he earns it, start ahead of him (or have Hazard out right or even central some games.) The reported price is rather good in my opinion. He also tracks back lots, which I love.
