  1. Agree that this board needs some perspective. The overreaction after points are dropped is comical... I think what we're seeing from Brana right now is fatigue. He just doesn't look solid at the back on current form. Also I feel he was run ragged after playing 120 mins midweek. Its like people forget we had a tough, emotionally draining midweek. He was obviously tired and made to run more than he's had to in quite some time. I want Luis to get a few starts now though, the problem I have with Jose right now is despite having a cushion to play with he refuses to rotate the squad a bit. After that emotion draw to PSG we probably could've used a bit of freshness.
  2. We got a whole lot of drama queens on this board. Gonna go ahead and chalk it up to age...
  3. WWWWWWWWWWDWDD That is our record at home in the Prem this year people. Too many people here are pessimistic.
  4. Its the lesser of two evils at this point. Ramires will at least aid us in recycling possession and winning tackles.
  5. We still have a game in hand. And to borrow from our manager: "Why are you so pessimistic in life? Its more difficult to succeed! You have to be optimistic. Maybe you are a guy with great potential and you don't move on because you are pessimistic. Be optimistic!"
  6. Agreed but what is the alternative? At the very least he won't be a liability defensively.
  7. the logical change is Ramires, especially because Cesc has been so poor in the holding role.
  8. He's making it very hard to defend his selection... I love him but he's not giving us enough offense to justify his place
  9. We looked a team short of confidence. I am pleased we found some semblance of attacking nous in the second half but its just too bad we haven't taken any of the incredible chances we created. Southampton are a very good defensive team and we opened them up time and again, had it not been for Forster we probably would've won comfortably. Good to see Costa score again he looked okay today, needs to be properly supported. Oscar once again worked his ass off but didn't produce any quality we need to cut teams open, that's all fine and good when Cesc is pulling the strings but clearly today that wasn't the case. Had at least two chances where you thought surely and put them both into the keeper. Cesc has been awful lately. When we were clicking WAYYYYYY back when he was the heartbeat in the middle of the pitch, he hasn't been anywhere near good enough offensively and when that is the case his lack defensive contribution becomes more glaring. I'm actually starting to believe the claim made by Barca and Arsenal fans who say he becomes a passenger in the second half of the season. Hard to argue against it given what we've seen. Hazard wants to win the title! whenever the ball was at his feet he tried to be decisive! Loved watching him today! We struggle with pace. Brana was caught out of position more time than I care to count and with Cahill as cover, who also lacks pace, we look susceptible to counters down that flank. The aerial threat Brana carries is not exactly there anymore and we aren't really finding him on goal kicks to start attacks. I think we need to give Luis a run in the side now... play Azpi on the right and see if we can close off the large fissure on the right side of our defense. I'm still content, I feel we will win the title but we have to build on this second half performance and play fearlessly.
  10. Hahahahahaha!!! I'm happy we played well in the second half because its something to build off of. We haven't been that good in months is seems like... We found good opportunities to score against the best defense in the premier league, that has to be encouraging. Now the next thing to do is play Zouma instead of Cahill and continue to press high up the pitch and we should find more results.
  11. Not entirely true. We did commit a lot more people forward to the attack. numerous times we saw Ramires or Cesc making runs into the box, that never happened at all in the first half. We went for the win but we didn't get it...
  12. Was waiting for someone to make mention of how poor Cesc was, he looked like he's never played football before... Wayward passes, little to know passion, dwelling on the ball, not taking any chances to shoot. I won't even begin to speak on defensive contribution, I'd be here all night.
  13. You will be hard pressed to find another manager with the winning pedigree Jose has. Everyone knows this... He is without question one of the greatest of all time and even today. If you can name me 4 managers who are better you may have a leg to stand on but the fact is you can't. He's not going to win every year but he will definitely be amongst the contenders every year and that is a remarkable feat. You can never count him out that's why he's the Special One.
  14. Jose is a bit of a dick.. He knows his name is Pellegrini. hahahahhahaha
  15. What makes you think they been shackled? The guy on fanzone said the exact same thing and I couldn't understand it. The only thing we're not doing in attack is committing both full backs and playing with a higher line. Other than that Hazard and Fab have loads of freedom if you ask me.
  16. Pretty much. Couple that with the abject performance against PSG and the team has every reason to be motivated to get 3pts. MUST WIN GAME.
  17. We win tomorrow and its but a formality. Too bad we're out of the Champions League, the rest of the season might be pretty boring.
  18. We win tomorrow and the title is ours.
  19. Like who? Your posts are personal opinion but many struggle to gather how you've reached those conclusions. You said 'with the exception of Zouma his transfer dealings haven't been good' You must expect you're gonna grab the attention of maybe 95% of the people who follow Chelsea and get a 'wtf' response, right? Cesc, Costa, Matic, Willian, Remy, Schurrle, Cuadrado, Zouma, Salah. If I'm not mistaken these are the first team players bought by Jose since he's been back. Of the nine of them you can say maybe 3 haven't gone according to plan, 2 have been moved on(Salah and Schurrle) and the other plays a hell of a lot for Jose so clearly he has a function in the team. Cuadrado's next year will be his first in my opinion... He's still getting his feet wet. So in my estimation Cesc, Costa, Matic, Remy and Zouma have all been incredible buys, unless you disagree with what I've said how can you say his dealings haven't been good?
  20. Dude just walk away, you are greatly embarrassing yourself with each and every post you make. Do you have any idea what considerations go into transfers? Do you think that each and every player out there has Chelsea as there no.1 destination? Do you have any idea how our scouting system is utilized? Do you have any concept of team philosophy? This is Jose's team now, a real manager. Not AVB, Not RDM(love you brother) not FSW. He's been here not even for two years and is still assembling his team. Its not like 2005 where he can just go out and submit a blank cheque to whoever he wants to acquire, this time around he needs to be clever and not only that, needs to make money from selling players. Its not as easy as saying "I like so and so, lets buy him" in the real world teams have to WANT to sell, players have to WANT to come and agents have to WANT to negotiate and that's not even looking at the legalese that also comes into it. This isn't a sprint, its a marathon. Jose in less than two years had us in the semi finals of the champions league(the previous year we were out at the group stage) 4pts away from the title(the previous year we were 14pts off the pace) and this year got us a cup(I don't care if its mickey mouse) and on course to hoist the premier league title. We've gone from a horrific midfield and a God awful strike force to Matic, Cesc, Diego and Remy(needs to play a bit more)! If there is ever gonna be a case where we Chelsea fans give a manager time to make his corrections its now! Salah is a nice little player, he was never gonna be given the free role he has now with us. He didn't work out with our team philosophy, does that mean the manager doesn't know what he's doing? Not at all! It simply means that after seeing him everyday day in training he hasn't quite grasped what the manager wants... Maybe Jose is too demanding? DeBruyne is flourishing in a league that plays the game at a tempo he is very comfortable with. He was great at Werder Bremen and even better now at Wolfsburg... He didn't work within our team and we turned him in Matic. The point of this is to say give it time. I have no doubt Jose knows what he's doing and knows what he wants! We have made marked improvements since he came back and we're setting up to embark on a real run here. Don't let this PSG setback take away from the fact that we're a fantastic team still finding its way! This is year two, not year 4/5....
