I'm gonna give him till the 10th game of next season. He needs a proper run in the squad for sure.
-
Modric is gonna be 30 at the start of the season and coming off an injury that kept him out for 4 months... You really think that is prudent spending? I don't
-
Who is more important Pogba to Juve? Pirlo? Vidal? Come on.... He was without question France's best midfielder and continues to be today. Here's what you don't get though, at 22 he is one of the most influential players on both teams he plays on. You don't have to play consistently well for an entire season either, the market dictates your value. There is a real shortage of quality midfielders and defenders, just last season Fellaini went for 30m. At current you can't find me one midfielder who is in Pobga's role who can have the types of performances he is having. Its not by mistake every big team in Europe want him, he is fantastic. Having said that I seriously doubt his fee will be 74M but at the same time I don't think teams are lining up to sign him based on potential. He is a fantastic player today and his potential only makes him more desirable.
-
He's not even playing striker for Middlesborough, why people think he is now capable of playing that role for Chelsea is well beyond me. What needs to happen to him next season is he gets loaned to a club who will offer him a commitment to play CF. Once he has a season under his belt then he can be in the running for a Chelsea squad player role. No need to rush him, its not like he actually qualifies as an academy player either he's a product of the Nottingham Forest academy.
-
what makes you think its just potential? He's the most important midfielder on Juventus, a team in the q-finals of the champs league. He was the best midfielder in France's setup at the World cup. He is, in my opinion, World Class or very very close to it which is why all the top teams in the world want him
-
This would be great. I'm starting to get cold feet if they want Ramires too though. however, maybe that opens a spot for Ruben?
-
Winning the Carling Cup was basically a result of winning a lot. Winning the Europa League was a result of losing unexpectedly... While it was okay that we didn't go trophy-less, I thought 2012-13 was an extreme low point for my Chelsea. The pure elation I got from winning the champions league the season before(which would've contented me till this year) was erased with the FSW coming in and RDM's dismissal. Just me I guess....
-
I think you know where this is leading. All that is now gone now and Chelsea are now the equivalent of Milwall, essentially all the things you love about the club are replaced by everything you hate about Millwall or whichever club you can't stand. Hard to fathom but not impossible... What I'm saying is it would take a hell of a lot for me not to support Chelsea but that's because the club represents me and always has since I started back in 1999-2000. If something happens at the club where I can't accept it as something I can support then I won't support it. I don't think that is unreasonable nor do I think that makes me or my friend a glory hunter. He left because the club he loved no longer spoke to what he wants in a club, I have no problem with that at all.
-
I don't know you as a human being I'm only using something like that as an example to show that everyone has a breaking point. Maybe a better question is what is it that you love about the club?
-
Okay what if the club policy was something you deem racist and inappropriate? Like we will not employ minorities at the club? Still Chelsea till you die?
-
Maybe for you! But don't assign the same temperament of a lion to that of a giraffe. I know he was devoted to the club, I also know that the things he loves about football and club culture have changed at the club over the course of him being a supporter. And like I said earlier if the club's philosophy has changed over the years and you know longer adhere to them you're still gonna follow? For instance, if Chelsea adopt a policy where they aren't going to allow players from outside of Britain to play for the club I would stop supporting them, why because that's not what I'm about.
-
Am I? I encourage you to go back a few pages and look up where this thing started.
-
It was an extremely low point for me. The only real saving grace was Frank's game at Villa Park.
-
I was gonna argue that we were fine but I looked up our results in November and saw 4 draws and a loss... yikes.
-
He is an okay manager, this whole discussion is centred around whether or not he is suitable to run the biggest job in football and for me he does't even have the CV to apply.
-
You have your view and its closer to mine than his but he had his and the club lost more than just him that day. Its about a club for him, he wanted a club where the business side of things didn't come before the ethos, culture and philosophy of the club. I ain't mad at him for making the decision, the club no longer spoke to his core beliefs about what a club is. He's loving life as a West Ham supporter now. Carefree. You can't question his devotion to the club. If Chelsea adopt a policy that I don't agree with or like I will be looking for a new team too, the club has to represent you in some way, no?
-
hahaha. I guess you can say that! Think about it though, we were the most successful team in all of Europe in 2012 and after all that winning we fire the guy who got us all that success 3 months into his tenure. For a guy who doesn't care about winning and losing and just wants to follow a club do you blame him? After winning the champions league one would've thought stability would've been the order of business. I can see why he left, understand it even, RDM wasn't the guy but that was an extremely rash decision and also to bring in Bentitez??? toxic.

West Ham

Some will say that while others will say its the glory hunting that has upset a lot of the supporters. A good friend of mine who supported Chelsea longer than me stopped supporting them because he was pissed off with all the chopping and changing in order to secure success. He was a diehard blue who abhorred the clubs policy of "If you don't win you're gone!" He loved RDM and obviously hated FSW and decided to go support another club where he thought the clubs ethos should come first and winning and losing secondary. I can't say that I could argue with him in that particular case.
-
Yup and a lot of supporters stopped supporting the club right after that.
-
My anger was less at the fact that fat cunt was our manager and more at the ownership who knew the supporters absolutely detested this guy and still hired him. Showed they really didn't care what we thought.
-
No the low point was having that fat piece of shit as our manager. I've been a supporter since 2000 if that's not long enough for you so be it...
-
Ya sad and true. Doesn't take away from his achievement though. RDM should've lasted the year... It was a completely new team with no striker.
-
The manager of Real Madrid it is without question the hottest seat and one that requires a certain type of personality to handle it. If Benitez gets it apart of me would love it! I would learn spanish just to so I could read all the press clippings and understand all the jeering from the fans.
-
But its nothing to revere him for winning. Each time we played in it it was a reminder of how far we've fallen. Regardless sure he did well beat Rubin Kazan, Steaua, Basel and Benfica(the only half way decent team) in the midst of all the hatred that was being spewed at him match after match. That truly was one of my lowest points as a chelsea supporter. DiMatteo won us the holy grail and was fired a few months later with FSW coming in... That was such a terrible season.
