  1. So we will get Jorginho and City Kovačič? Jorginho isnt bad at all, but IMO City will end up having much better player longterm.
  2. Every club is strenghtening but we wait. Even if we announce 5 players and Sarri in one day, it wont mean shit if we lose Hazard.
  3. IMO replacing Morata with Higuain is replacing one problem with another. Higuain is good striker, but never realy hit it in Juve. Scored alot of goals, but was never truly leading the club. We should target a striker that can develop into next Drogba, Henry,...someone who is younger with potential, eager to improve and already quality. Even if we have to pay 100m. Striker is simply a position where you need real quality player because unlike midfield and defence which is all about team work, striker has to be incredible individual to finish off chances he gets. Liverpool did great example with Suarez who was brought from Ajax and turned in best striker in two years. 2014 Suarez was best striker I saw since days of Henry, Drogba etc. He was big cunt but fantastic forward. We need to look for such players. Not some 30yo soon to be washed out Higuains and Lewandowskis who still cost shitload of cash and cant improve or develop identity with the club
  4. Alonso? Too slow and probably wont make it in regular 4:3:3 or whatever system we will play next season. Good player in attack, but goals dont make up for his lack of dynamic in a position such as LB: Emerson? Good potential, was even good in few games he played, but hard to predict he will be top player. I was thinking about someone like Ashley, someone who is undisputed starter and plays equaly good in attack/defense, is mobile enough etc etc.
  5. 'Member when we all hoped Eden will finaly have quality LB to play with? I 'member.
  6. Agree, Kovacic with right attitude here could become fantastic player. But if not him, I wouldnt mind Seri.
  7. You wish. Bakayoko Drinkwater Barkley Zappacosta Fabregas This team is so good it doesnt even need a coach.
  8. What about this? Rabiot is spoiled b*tch, thats why he isnt in France squad. Ngolo on other hand is one awesome baller.
  9. I hope you are right, but until he shows it in bigger league, I just dont want get any hopes up.
  10. Probably because we fill them with money when they are 15,16,17 years old. They get everything on silver platter, driving around in ferraris and living in mansions. Tough life without much money teaches you how to survive, to push through hard times and simply said to hussle. Many South American players are world class because best they do is play football and they have to keep improving to earn money. When you are 16 and you get paid 20k per week, why the hell would you work your ass off if you already have everything? They are spoiled. Lack proper role models to show them its worth to give it all and succeed in football, that money isnt all. Then there is the real lack of trust and faith in these kids. We loan them automaticaly like a machine. Win all with youth selections, get a short period with first team, loan them out to championship/vitesse, loan them again and again until they show something. If they impress loan them some more, if not sell them. Obviously all that comes in the back of their mind. Its probably very hard even for those who actualy want to be a part of Chelsea, to be motivated if they know there is almost zero chance of them making it because the club will buy 5 new players for that spot before they become good. Its obviously very hard for big club to give them chances, but we are another level of bad in youth integration. But thats slowly a part of modern football. All this money in football is destroying in its very beggining with so many talented players ruined. 2000-2008 was much much better era of football, becuase there were huge characters playing and all kids wanted to be like them. Now its Neymar and Pogba wannabes everywhere, more interested in who has cooler haircut. Instagram generation.
  11. Not sure what I dislike more, the fact we dont bring quality players or the fact every single thing the club has to do takes eternity. We didnt extend Hazard and Tibo contracts, we havent brought new manager, we havent brought players quick enough, we lost primary targets etc etc. In 3 years of Marina appointment, we missed on CL twice. Talk about doing a fucking great job.
  12. All Im saying he is the first chelsea product to succeed in PL after Bertrand. We both agree he isnt ridiculously talented and his mentality is questionable, but so far it worked for him. He will never be the same level like Iniesta or Xavi midfield star, but he can easily become something like Dembele. I dont know why people love to just look at our youth talent, if they can be one of world best and make judgement. Like Mason is very talented, he will be a star. Musonda was talented, he will be a star. McEachran was talented, he will be a star. Bertrand meanwhile wasnt anything realy special, but was the one to make it and would still be better RB than anything we had since Cole. Being physicaly fit, being injury free, having mentality and desire to play week in week out is what will make you a good player. Extra talent will make you great player. But without the former, you can have all the talent, he will never suceed without physical and mental atributes. And RLC has that right now. Thats all Im saying. I never said he will be great player or had seriously impressive season. But he did have good season in PL, something our extremely talented youth players never managed to achieve. Forget the hype, no one is talking about hype and RLC being super talent. All Im saying is he as of right now has made largest jump of our youth players and is actualy playing in PL. Mount for all his talent he has, means jack shit sorry. Same with Odoi or Musonda. I would love them to succeed but the only ''hype'' is around those players because all they did was play in youth sections and netherlands, and people consider them future GOATs already. If anything else, fantastic talents completely flopped in PL/championship. To succeed in PL is first step to become good player. RLC made that step, now we will see what is his ceiling and how capable he can become by playing week in week out. We should appreciate it more that one of our academy actualy broke through. At least RLC will be midftable player going by the predictions right now. At least, could be even great one day. Mason has talent to be much better, same with Odoi, but until those two actualy make something in PL or any of top 5 league first divisions, they are not even fit to play in bottom PL team, nevermind in top team and they can have all the talent in the world. Everyone wants our academy to produce the next Messi, Hazard, Lampard,...I would be more than happy to have someone in squad like Lingard at United, someone who came through academy and just enjoys playing for the club and is valuable asset, despite not having greatest skills. It would be a start.
  13. In terms of what? Pure talent? McEachran was incredibly gifted too. But he didnt have the right set of mentality aswell the club didnt trust him enough. To me the biggest prospect is the one who has most chances to make it here and become important player. Real life is all about being in right place at right time and take advantage of situation. Players with lesser talent jumped over very talented ones because they had other abilites. I have seen enough players with huge talent who failed. I have stopped judging players based on their talent. Look at the facts. Ruben has proven himself as promosing player in PL, one of key things our club looks after. Baker had amazing season in vitesse too, didnt work out. Tammy had great season in Championship, but so far not good in PL. Right here, Ruben is a step ahead. He has impressed enough to be even called in English squad in WC and even played two games as starter. He is becoming a player with certain reputation that the club cant ignore. Dont even look at his "talent" or "potential". He made it this far and the furthest of any chelsea youth in ages, maybe closest is Bertrand. You look only at talent and potential I guess. Mount is super talented. Musonda is too, so was McEachran. But it wasnt enough. Bertrand wasnt extra talent, but he made his way and if anyone, he would be the closest to a starter of all products we made over past few years and thats all what matters. Biggest prospect. I see that as someone with most chances making it here. Ruben has already gained quite some experience over past year. His reputation is rising. Yes, maybe he will never be world class player, but he has right now the most tools to make it as a chelsea player. The experience and reputation is making him the bigger player who will need game time and we will have to give it to him or he will leave. Yes its then up to him to grab it, but he is at very high stage of getting into our team. Mount? He only had a good season in vitesse that NO ONE AT THE CLUB SEEMS TO CARE (if it was different, Baker would be in plans last summer, but he was loaned to Championship, not even PL). Talent wise, Mount is very likely bigger talent than RLC. But prospect as in playing one day for Chelsea? Right now no. RLC is physicaly ready which is number one thing and while mentality, he isnt realy impressive, he managed to impress Southgate to pick him and he managed to impress Palace coaches to actualy play him, something many of our prospects fail to do in Championship, nevermind PL. As for level of Eredivisie, its low, very low. Once Mason impresses on higher level, and club actualy recognizes that, we may discuss further.
  14. Until he proves it at top level, he is nothing. Right now the biggest prospect we have is RLC who actualy had good season in PL. I hope Mount and CHO make it at Chelsea, but their talent is far from enough. If they have the right mentality, they might actualy have a chance.
  15. i dont dislike him per se, but there is nothing likeable about him either. He always talks about spain and real and atletico and this and that, never shuts up and commits. Secondly, his performances arent that fantastic either. He isnt bad or average Gk at all, he is very good. But not world class. Cech was, he could change the game on his own, something you rarely see from GKs. He was commited and always gave his all. Tibo fails miserably when we realy realy need him in 8/10 games. But obviously he saved us few times and Cech made big mistakes few times, but generaly, Cech was more dependable. When we played big side, I knew we have Cech on goal and its going to be hard to concede goal. With Tibo, I only pray he wont concede some stupid goals, not confident at all. But it all comes to character, loyalty etc. Tibo has none of that, which makes him just another servant to the club. If we sold him and got Alisson or Oblak, I wouldnt care tbh.
  16. It can be said vice versa. No matter how good your CBs are at ball playing, if they are bad defenders, you wont get far in cups, unless your attack is sublime. Dont get me wrong I would love ball playing CBs, but you have two types of them. One that is actualy good defender and the other one who is overhyped based on their passing and ball playing skills, but he gets exposed over and over and over. Terry and Riccy were formidable on the ball. But they were praised for their defensive skill. I loved having such CBs. I have nothing against ball playing CBs, but those who are qulaified as "great CBs" because they can pass, however they defend average feel like frauds to me. A very very simple example would be Bonucci or Chielini/Barzagli. Bonucci is fantastic ball playing CB, but he is absolutely average CB, who was saved time and time again by other two. Chielini/Barzagli are not on same level like Bonucci on the ball, but still very formidable and underrated. As for their defending, they are miles ahead of Bonucci in every aspect. The thig about modern CBs is that everyone hypes the shit out of ball playing CBs because they cant praise their defensive abilities. You still have many CBs who get the praise by their defending abilites, but it doesnt mean they are crap on the ball. And finaly, every ball playing CB has cover in more complete defender. Ramos had Pepe, Pique had Puyol, Bonucci had Chielini, Hummels had Boateng etc etc. While the former are superb ball playing CBs, the later are not shit on the ball at all. But miles better defenders. We already have Christensen as that out and out ball playing CB. His partner should be someone ala Chielini, Godin. No nonsense CB. We need CBs that qualify into elite (potentialy elite) level defending, but also have nice set of skill with the ball Then there is the mentality. Terry was great ball playing CB (underrated), but he was also no nonsense CB. If you had to clear the ball, you cleared it, not dribble and try fancy stuff. He was also great defender and wasnt exposed like some ball playing frauds today. Maybe you got me wrong, I want us to have no nonsense ball playing Cbs and not these modern wanna be messi CBs. Its just almost impossible to find such CBs and thats whay I prefer someone like Godin over Otamendi. Dont tell me you would pick the later just because he can pass. Umtiti is also good example of good defender, but doesnt lack in playing the ball from the back. Im not against ball playing CBs, but against those who are hyped as great CBs just because of their Ball playing skills (Bonucci, Otamendi,...) because the reason why they are hyped based on their ball playing skill is because they are crap defenders, and you cant praise them for that, not because they would be absolutely superb on the ball. They are mistake prone and thats last thing you need when forming a new identity. For Burnleys and Palaces, it works. But Pep was spanked time and time again in CL with their "modern CBs".
  17. I hope for the sake of this club identity, we dont play two CBs just because they are good on the ball. Otamendi is pure shit of a defender for example. Pique, Ramos, Stones, Silva nothing special when it comes to pure defending. Terry and Puyol were good ball playing CBs, but their reputation was based on world class defending. If we can get classy CBs who can pass the ball and at same time superb defenders, Im all for it. But if we target CBs like Bonucci, every quality striker will punish us. Like Pool ripped City defence apart. Honestly I rather see boring Chelsea than bunch of pussy CBs like Otamendi, Bonucci,...man f*ck your ball playig skills if you are garbage defender and fail everytime things get heated. Pique, Bonucci all got carried by Puyol, Barzagli, Chielini, Busquets,...they have elite passing and ball control skill, but as defenders they are nothing special at all. Some "random" CBs like Naldo, Miranda are miles more reliable. I hope we dont follow that path, but it seems we are. If thats the case, we can safely assume that our european chances will depend on how good our attack will be, because I guarantee these ball playing CBs will be on fail videos everytime against quality opponents. Take a look at Luiz, he was here for his character and ball playing skills. He wouldnt be near first 11 if it was for his defending. Give me Miranda, Godin, Chielini over these fancy CBs anyday of the week.
  18. Just wondering if we switch to 4atb and Sarri loving ball playing CBs, he will surely play Christensen, right? That means we will play Christensen-Rugani and I have little confidence we can put in a strong defence with such young CBs and no vocal leader around. Azpi is good defender, but he is hardly leader like Terry. And he wont be around CBs all the time on that right side to instruct and lead.
  19. Not talking about Golovin specificaly, but several players had superb cups and gone absolute dogshit after. I dont understand why is so popular to hype players who have good world cups. Maybe those who get all to the final, but thats about it. These players arent good because of world cup, they were good before. But the media hypes the shit out of them. Doesnt mean they are actualy good because they have a few good games against third tier teams and it also doesnt mean they "exploded" in world cup, becuse alot were better before for their clubs. James Rodriguez was amazing in Monaco before World cup. Same with Aurier in Toulouse. This year its Lozano. He was already amazing in psv. On other hand you have the likes of Giacherrini or Gebre Selassie who had great cups but are crap players. Renato Sanches is another brilliant example. If we are targeting Golovin, better be because he was good in CSKa and not because he played well against f*ing Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Its unbelievable how much hype some players get after few good games in world cup. They are not goddamn Ronaldo9. With these kids being good in world cups/euros its more chance they turn shit or underachieve rather than reach their potential.
  20. Not sure he suits PL tbh. He lacks strenght or balance. It would be hard for him in midfiel.
  21. Talented, but hardly anything elite about it for now. Elite is top level of play, Billy isnt even senior level, nevermind top tier of senior level football. As long these kids dont show at very best, they are only elite talents. Being elite player with elite skills is whole different world. Dont get me wrong, Billy is good talent, but his passing would be nothing special if you throw him in our first 11 right now. In general, I always found quality passing and vision key is experience. There must be talent sure, but experience plays all the mental part and for right pass, its all in your head. To time it right, to predict movement etc etc. Execution depends on talent, but idea is all in the head. These 17-18 year olds have no elite passing or ability to control midfield for a top club, because mentality is huge part and most are not ready for it.
  22. So much for rumours going to Bournemouth back in december. This will be another pointless loan I think. Even if the players have superb season in championship or eredivisie, that means fuck all. The club still wont use them. Then its another loan and another loan etc. RLC was thrown in our first team, then loan to PL team. DeBruyne was loaned to buli. Courtois and Christensen went straight into clubs from top leagues in germany and spain. Those 4 are only ones that either turned top players or still can. Baker had great season last year, but its all bust again. I dont see the point of these loans, should be small team in germany, spain, england, france...if they arent good enough for low table teams from 1st divisions by now, then maybe they never will be good enough for Chelsea. At least you test them to see their level. Loans to second tier clubs are waste of time in 90% of our cases.
  23. Why do we need him exactly? We dont need another CB. Even less, we dont need another inexperienced, young CB from different league. Seems this window will be same old, throwing 30m+ on average players instead of getting 3 top class players to strenghten midfield and attack.
