Joe Cole....the happy days. He had some of that joga bonito about him and was always entertaining to watch. Shame he left quite soon, at his peak he was realy amazing player, probably doesnt get enough credit, but maybe thats because he didnt spend more years here and joined fooking liverpool. Anyway great lad, brought many great moments to Chelsea.

Lol the sheep shaggers? I wouldnt mind that at all, but since these "sheepshaggers" are managed by Lamps and Jody, plus Mount and Tomori play there, I find it sort of disrespectful...
-
Sad so many fans dont know any respect anymore. Sure Cahill isnt at his best anymore (and doesnt even play in first 11), but people are still upset whenever he does play or even gets "captain role" (which btw is totaly understandable considering how long he is here).

Nope, a total transfer fees, loan fees,... Net spent balance is around 1,1bn for City, 700m for Psg, 650m for United, 550m for Barca, 400m for Chelsea and 360m for Real (top 6 net spenders). Sure we managed to get whole lot of money from sales, but what the fuck did we spend it on? Real and Barca are funded by state loans, psg and city use money laundry tactics, United too probably and they get away with ffp still. We did it fairly and got money from sales plus whatever we could afford without breaking ffp. Yet at the end of the day club spent 1,3bn on players like Torres, Morata, Drinkwater, Bakayoko,...doesnt matter if it was net spend or not. We still forked big chunks of cash on players. And before someone still talks about net spent, look at Juve and Real who both did much better than Chelsea over last 8 years and spent less. Also talking about not being able to compete with top clubs for top players, its just not true. Maybe the very best (expensive) like Neymar or Mbappe, sure, but 100m something are all available if we decided to go for. While Barca paid 120m on Dembele, we decided to fork 150m on Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Morata. One might think we couldnt afford to pay 120 on single player, but look where Morata, Bakayoko and Drinkwater are now. We had to spend another 60m on Jorginho, Kovacic loan fee and buy Giroud. On top of that very likely we will still need another expensive striker. Instead of buying top striker one summer, top midfielder next summer etc etc, we go for these short fixes that in the end cost us time, more cash and just a lot of frustration. Either you buy someone cheap and hope he turns well, or just fork whatever necessary for top player. We go for middle with decent, but nothing special players who are done after a season and still cost a shitload of cash. The board has zero clue. We have been sorting LB and striker since Cole and Drogba and still couldnt find two fucking players, good enough to stay for like 5 years. And you dont even need to spend shitload of cash. Liverpool got Robertson for peanuts for example. Conte was complaining about signings, as did many fans but lets not forget the problem was who we bought, not the cash. 150m on three players alone, but all were wrong choices. Instead of buying 3 quality players and put 2 from academy, we go for 5 quantity players. A year later, most suck, so we have to sell them and we need to buy new ones to keep squad numbers and again we dont bring quality. Rinse and repeat. Maybe once every few years, we actualy get a great player like Hazard, Azpi, Jorginho or Kante, but its anomaly not a rule. Our current board needs a damn director and we are fucking with that too for several months now. Cant we just get things done quick like any ambitious club does? Who sticks without dof for so long? And dont get me putting Marina in charge lol. She is good with income, but this needs some football brain. We bought so many shit or temporary players and got rid of so many good ones its no fucking coincidence anymore and no one at the club got the stick yet. We can only thank higher force to have luck with managers recently who did wonders with given players. Only United is doing worse considering amount of cash spent and results. We won 2 titles yes but we also didnt play CL twice in three years now which is terrible considering all the cash we fork on players. P.s. now this seems like a massive rant, but its just pointing how things are IMO. Not that I dont enjoy supprting the team this or any previous seasons. I actualy think we are doing great this year so far. The club given the players is doing very well except for that Mourinho final season and last half of season. But the board is total garbage for years now. They fuck things up and coach gets the blame. I miss days of Kenyon at helm.

There is alot of talk we have been pulling restraints in spending money last few years, but if you look at the numbers, we are only behind city in total fees since 2010 (according to Cies). 10. Atletico Madrid have spent £688.74million in transfer fees since 2010 9. Roma have spent £729.31million in transfer fees since 2010 8. Real Madrid have spent £822.16million in transfer fees since 2010 7. Liverpool have spent £965.50million in transfer fees since 2010 6. Juventus have spent £978.12million in transfer fees since 2010 5. Manchester United have spent £993.45million in transfer fees since 2010 4. Paris Saint-Germain have spent £1.120billion in transfer fees since 2010 3. Barcelona have spent £1.258billion in transfer fees since 2010 2. Chelsea have spent £1.310billion in transfer fees since 2010 1. Manchester City have spent £1.325billion in transfer fees since 2010 Our spending isnt weak at all, we just spend it on absolutely wrong players with some exceptions.

Great talent but his attitude is piss. Late on trainings, doesnt work hard and during games he doesnt even attack the opponent near him. For those reported 85m its a giant risk.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/7738251/chelsea-ngolo-kante-football-leaks/ Amazing, Kante realy is one of those people that make you believe in human race again.
-
Its time to try Hazard Pedro Willian. Drop Morata, he should be in top form right now, but yet again fails to deliver and Im not even talking about goals.
-
Crappy crappity crap... Should have won this one but its hard without a proper striker.
-
Haha I see. Well in that case if you want to simplify, then you should call these players forwards, not strikers, because striker is already type of forward (like striker, wide/left/right forward, centre forward, raumdeuter, poacher, secondary/supporting striker, false 9,...) Calling all these "striker" has been accepted by most fans to simplify things, but techicaly its just wrong. Every striker is a forward, but not every forward is a striker.

I never got that feel about Modric. He is world class in ball retention, runs and passing. But to me Rakitic is way better shooter for example. But yeah both are better than Kova. Speaking of Kova, it will be interesting what we do in the summer. I love his technical ability, its miles ahead of RLC or Barkley, but right now it feels he would be more of a luxury signing with all the midfielders we have. Barkley managed to bench him. Yet again without Kova, our midfield again becomes rather weak in quality. Hopefuly he improves, cements his spot in 11 and gives some scoring proweness to his game.
-
Exactly. We are playing well this season so far. I remember the same shit on forum last year about Conte and the players when we were actualy 2nd in the league and doing well in CL. As long there wont be breakdown in second half of season and we qualify to CL one way or another, Im happy with season. Results are good, rotation is there, happy to see two english players in Barkley and RLC getting minutes. CHO will get his time too now that we got promotion in EL. Only downside for me is Morata and generaly our striker options, but that has been improving lately too. People who want to ditch Kante and Azpi however probably started watching football yesterday.

True, Salah is wide forward like Ronaldo. But Firmino is centre forward, not striker. Basicaly those two switch positions all time in Klopp system to provide dynamic flow in attack. But neither is focal point of attack or spearhead if you want. Their forwards distribute goals between eachother, the positioning of front three is just approximate to set up the tactics and due to player limitations or advantages. Lewandowski is clean example of striker and Bayern is example of striker oriented team, where everything leads to #9. When you watch Chelsea team play, our wingers and midifeld try to find Morata who runs behind spaces (due to Morata not being as dominant striker and Hazard being individualy by far best attacker in team, that might not look as clear though) Its also true however that sometimes when we play Giroud and Hazard, those two both play forward roles. Thats why Giroud has linked up better with Hazard than Morata. Giroud is excellent at setting up (better than he is in finishing tbh) and Hazard benefits more there. Someone posted a while ago some stats about how many passes have been completed between Hazard and Giroud and Hazard and Morata. Turned out Giroud has linked up with Hazard more because of his role in the team, since he often acted as supporting striker to Hazard who is very polyvalent in his game, being a #10, winger who cuts inside or even wide forward. Meanwhile when Morata plays, focus is to feed him the ball while he runs behind defences (unless someone else is in better position obviously, but going by general setup we have its basicaly get the ball to Hazard or rotate it around the field and then find Morata. Pedro could also be counted as wide forward due to his runs behind defences. That cant be applied to Willian who is winger who cuts inside (and fails most time lol).

I was talking for this season. And what does these goals tell you about their role in team? Ronaldo wasnt striker and he still scored alot. Lamps and Yaya scored 20 goals once in season from midfield. I mean if you watch matches of Firmino, Dybala, Griezmann vs Kane, Morata, Lukaku, Suarez,...you would know their differences by now.
-
Dybala would obviously play instead of Giroud but that doesnt make him striker either, he would be CF. What secondary striker? CF is similar to false nine. Striker is striker. Secondary or supporting striker is the player who supports main striker. Different roles. I dont know where you looked for the terminology, but literaly everyone will say the same, I didnt make it up. Except for people who dont know the difference or say it not to confuse others, there have always been CF and striker differences. Its all about the role, not position. Thats like saying Jorginho is same like Matic because both play DM..but their role in team is different. One breaks opponent attacks, the other dictates tempo. Essentialy they both play in same position with different role. And you wont check stats for Matic how much he creates or Jorginho how many tackles he makes and compare those two because they arent same type of player. Likewise you dont compare goals scored by Firmino with Kane or Aguero or Morata, because his role is different. Striker and Cf is same. One is there to position themselves and score, other is to be engaged in attack by either setting up others or score on their own. You clearly dont know the difference here. If the coach was to tell you to play striker or centre forward, it would be a big difference how you would play. If you dont know the difference, it doesnt mean Im making this up or that there is no difference...
-
You will find those examples everywhere, thought quora will give u simple explanation but i guess not. I think that you dont see difference between role and position? CF and striker all play in same spot, but their role is different. Everyone will tell you Firmino and Dybala are not strikers haha even if they play in same spot. Their qualities are different, their role in team is different. Hence why I said Firmino cant be compared to other proper strikers like Morata, Kane or Aguero in only goals, because Klopp has different role for him. No shit Firmino would play instead of Morata if he was here. But that would mean we play with centre forward or false nine, not with striker because he isnt one. Much like Barca played with no striker for a while with Messi being CF (Villa was often deployed on left wing, but again he was left forward by the role and not typical winger or if they played two upfront, Villa was striker with Messi CF behind him) Striker is someone who runs behind defences, looks for position and tries to score. CF is one who drops back to pick the ball and actively engages in team buildup. Last year Firmino was basicaly feeder for Salah by dropping deep and look for Salaha who ran by defence, picked the ball and finished off the attack. Sure there are anomalies where Firmino will be the one to finish and you will see proper strikers deliver the final ball to wingers or other teammates, but thats rare. Suarez, Kane, Cavani, Aguero,...will often find themselves as player to finish the attack. In Liverpool Firmino usualy sets up the attack, because of his role, thats why he has few goals. Dybala is the same, but he is more prolific, like Messi who isnt striker either, they are both forwards with Mandzukic and Suarez being strikers for their team. Or Griezmann who is CF behind Costa or Kalinic who are strikers. Meanwhile Pool plays without striker, but that doesnt mean Firmino is one just because he plays there. Im not losing a lost cause lady, these are simple basics in football lol. But I understand some call forward and striker same thing because its same position, however role is different.
-
Wait what? "Straight" striker isnt central forward lady... You can throw Hazard in Morata place and he wont be a striker, but cf. Firmino isnt striker either, but CF, because his role in Klopp system isnt to just score goals, but set them up. Just check this out; https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-a-Center-Forward-CF-and-Striker-ST-Is-it-based-only-on-the-formation
-
Exactly. And some would consider selling him because he doesnt have end product
-
You cant possibly be serious about Firmino being a striker? He is more of central forward or secondary/supporting striker/False 9.
-
I always wanted to keep Costa until there would be proper replacement available. I stand corrected for Lukaku, he is big fish in small pond. Delivers against poor teams, but goes missing against big. His record numbers dont tell the story at all. I would have Kane or Aguero and wouldnt complain. They do their job, simple as that. Sure not 10/10 every game but solid 7/8 in most. Morata was about 9 in recent games but 4 in august and september. I was more happy with Etoo being our striker back then than with Morata so far. But he can improve for sure. At the beggining I was realy excited, but later on he became one whinny bitch and we need proper striker up front. Costa wasnt scoring each game, but would take his presence ahead of invisible crying Morata anyday.
-
Our best bet is to try and get either Cavani or Suarez next summer because 1.) both will be good for two more seasons and 2.) Psg and Barca will probably look for younger strikers. There are no available under 30 quality strikers we might get. Either they arent available, not good enough, too expensive for Chelsea or just unproven and we cant afford another expensive risk in striker department.
-
Its actualy great United turned it around because that will boost their mentality for City game. Would be great for us if City lost or at least dropped points.
-
Others playing shit shouldnt justify our players can play shit. Lukaku isnt anywhere the quality you want to compare your striker with if you want success. Firmino and Salah aint even strikers. Aguero offers much more than just goals to the team... And Morata realy picked form in past month or so, he was shit in almost every game prior. Cant be said for most of other strikers.
-
Tbh he always blasts straight in GK, misses the whole goal or tries poor attempt in lob. Its gonna be one of the three. Almost never its incredible save by gk but rather poor shot. Suarez misses plenty of easiest chances, but he offers plenty in attacking play. Linkup, dribbling, creating and poses serious threat from anywhere. Morata isnt either a clinical finisher, nor someone that would be realy linking well with the team build up. And he certainly isnt hard worker. He also seeems to lose confidence realy quickly, something Suarez, Lewandowski etc dont. I wouldnt be anywhere as harsh on him if he actualy fought for the team and gave his best every game. But he is always like ''meh if i play well; cool, if not; cool too'' Thats his issue. He is sulking and complaining too much. This isnt boy scouts league.
