I remember Barca wanted to utilise him as RB. While it probably wouldnt work long term, its amazing how can same player be considered as striker and defender on top level. That said he has been outstanding this season. Not just good and hardworking, but also crucial with goals and assists in many games. Kind of irreplacable atm. It makes me wonder if we will actualy go for top RW like Sanchez or Bernardo if Pedro finishes season on such good form, only to be replaced next season. Considering we seriously need to strenghten midfield and wings, possibly with Costa gone, a new top striker too, our RW might not be a priority after all. That said, I think Douglas Costa would be great addition, alot more realistic and cheaper than either Bernardo/Sanchez. Also the type of player who can cause all sorts of problems with his power, speed and trickery.

I know its impossible but if we actualy sell Costa for reported ~100m I would give Bayern an offer they cant refuse for Lewandowski. Im sure bayern would accept big offer, but its all up to Lewa if he wants to leave. I just dont think any other striker that we were linked with would improve us over inform Costa. If we sell Costa we need a type of player that United got in RVP when they bought him from arsenal. Instant impact, reliable and world class. Every signing is 50/50, but Lukaku, Belotti, Laca,...they all scream big risk considering the price and fact we will NEED reliable striker next season.

Its Hi, how are you.
-
Meh...Benz, Lukaku, Morata,...neither impresses me to say wow if we sign any of them. Anyone would be better than Costa on current form. But he should not be compared to others in current form. Would Benzema be better than current Costa? Indeed. But would he be better than Costa in his best form? Not even close. If we are targeting a new striker, then we should target someone who will be even better than Costa on his best day. Good luck finding such striker this summer. Lukaku to me still looks big fish small pond type of striker. He might be banging them goals, but his character is way off what you expect from leader. Morata is good but isnt lone striker. Benzema is benzema...very good on good day, but inconsistent as hell. Auba is the same. Belotti and Lacazette are unproven. Who else is there? We definately need someone near prime, experienced leader, but I dont see anyone fit that profile. I realy like the way Mbappe is developing, but he must stay in Monaco, he is too young for big club. Its a real shame Costa till january was the perfect striker we could possibly have. I still think he will return in form, no worry about that at all. But in long term we need a reliable striker indeed.

What you said is correct, obviously he waits, but what does that to do with my post? You talk about which side he decides to shot, I was talking about his execution in general, his power and direction. Even if he waits for GK, his shot is still low and weak, and I was talking about that only. If GK goes the right way, that is a certain save. If you add alot more power to it like Lamps did, its the kind of penalty that is alot more sure to end up as goal. Yes he did score most of his penalties in past, but now he plays on higher level. Im sure every opposition learns about his shooting technique and they read him better these days, hence he only scored half of last 6 pens. If he did score most of his pens, I would not complain, but thats not the case. Doesnt matter if he was 100% 5 years ago or even 2 years ago, because recently he misses half and that is not good at all. Generaly I realy dislike players who only take step or two in penalties. Its usualy a weak shot and I have seen it countles times being saved.
-
His pens are very easy to save these days. Little power and considering he takes little space to shot, gk knows it will be a low shot. If Eden put the ball near either post, the save would be impossible, but he goes always for middle between gk and post. Gk only has to figure out which side so its relatively easy 50:50 save. Last 6 pens, eden scored only 3 so there is that. Either he needs to to take more power to his shots or someone else should start taking them.

Super important win. Shame Spurs turned it around tho.
-
Yup. Been saying that for a while now
-
Tbh when Costa didnt score he always rilled defenders and chased that ball like a mad dog. But people complained he is crazy. Now you got what people wanted. Calm Costa (well most of time). When he doesnt score he is invisible. Tbh I prefered that yellow card here and there because he at least showed great passion and character. Now he is like a dog on a leash.

As you can see Kante is quite useless along playmaker. Because then he has to be holding mid instead of roam around. Its crucial to get top upgrade of matic in summer and not a playmaker. Ok game, bit exposed in defense, but we play against top attack.
-
Weird lineup from city, but i kinda expect them to go 3:4:3 or sth. Lets hope we take advantage and win. Superhyped about the match, Comeon chelsea!!!
-
You just know this guy is injured whole season but will absolutely boss it against us play game of his life and then injure himself again next weekend.
-
Sorry to hear that mate. I love travelling myself, its great to free your spirit and experience life and yourself. Hope you two have time of your life

Some rumours Conte wants Pirlo to succeed Holland as assistant coach. I would love this, Pirlo is such a great character, respected and very intelligent. Oozes class. Would be unreal if we could form a future board of Conte, Pirlo and our legends like Lamps, Terry, Cole,...
-
One thing I absolutely dont get is he can make a pinpoint pass through half of field during the play, but his corners and freekick deliveries are absolutely average. How is that possible for someone with such good pass? Pirlo, Kroos, Iniesta can all do it. What is with Cesc that he cant? If he had this threat from corners and freekicks he would be alot more usefull. He has good technique but poor at holding the ball and dribbling, good in passing but poor at setpieces....so so limited player. The rest of our squad is shit in corners and freekick deliveries too, so Im happy whenever Cesc plays because just maybe he can give a good ball, but generaly we are so poor in this.
-
Sane is in hot shit form right now. When we faced them back then its was just Aguero as real threat, but now there is Sane too. I wouldnt worry so much if we had Moses, but now its a bit different. Big decision for Conte. This is the situation when playing the likes of Zouma in every smaller game would definately help because it would mean we have capable backups. Now its a big mistery how will Zouma do if he gets picked.
-
IMO Marcos is doing great job and has plenty of potential to imporve. He can become our new Ivanovic or Capdevilla. Doesnt have to be big name or fancy player to be very important to the squad. He is good on the ball, gets quite many headers, physicaly not weak and is improving his defensive understanding of the game too. Moses while being very good too, will have to be replaced tho. IMO this is near his peak and his end product is not enough combined with Alonso to push for europe. He adds great physical presence (IMO our strongest player apart from Cahill and Luiz) and he has top engine too, but lacks some of technical knowledge. We obviously need two wingbacks on either side so there will be plenty of rotation I expect.
-
Not sure, but I think he started to work with german tv and ESPN coverage of euros and WC.
-
It all comes down if he wants to stay in london or not. Im sure he is not some big fan of Chelsea to push the move, but the only reason he might join us is because he wants to stay in London and at same time win something. If he doesnt mind going to Paris or Munchen, he is not coming here for sure.
-
Lets hope so. I miss the guy, he has been invisible for too long now.
-
We should press and attack them because their defence is rubbish and our attack is good. But instead we will let city all the time and space in the world to attack, while their weakness (defence) wont be exploited. Their defence is absolutely clueless under pressure, but Im sure we wont take advantage of that. We will need some deadly counterattacks if we want to win this. And perfect defense.
-
I would not be so sure. I mean yes we still have good advantage, but the following games are difficult. Spurs players go bonkers when they start losing indeed, but they are on good run right now. I would not underestimate them. And their europa games...you cant compare their form from europe with PL. Then one can say Gent is better than Chelsea too, but it doesnt work like that. They will give twice the effort in PL they did in europe. It would take massive flop from us if we dont win the title considering everything, and I dont expect Spurs to go on some unbeatable run either, but if we lose to City which is not impossible, that could mean we lost 6 points advantage out of 10 in 5 days. That alone is not the worst, what will go in players heads could bring more poor games after that, because they will get super nervous. We play Everton and United and those are not the kind of games to boost the confidence back up. Conte has been great so far, but if the system falls, he wont be able to save it. And our key player from first half is now very poor for months. Every game now on, we need to play like final. Or there will be massive problems winning the title.
-
I did mention he deserves a pass because of that...
-
Ok, yes he was actualy quite good, but not being the decisive guy good if you know what I mean. Sure its extremely hard to win games on your own, but sometimes he is simply unplayable in PL, while despite being ok in CL, he didnt realy reach that same height so far. I remember against PSG he did ok, but compared to some of his best games for Chelsea, he wasnt even close, meanwhile if you look Messi, Iniesta, Ronaldo, Neymar,... their best performances came from some of the most important games (that said Ronaldo was oftenly shit in big games IMO). Its harsh yes, Im one of biggest Eden fans, but IMO for him to be truly one of best, he will need to put his very best performances against the very best teams in europe in games that are crucial. Its true our team as whole was not even close comparable to top teams indeed, so Eden deserves a pass, but with Conte, I expect he will build a proper team and Eden must become our true leader. Someone who if fit, you can count in 9/10 games, not just ''hope he will be on fire tonight'' kinda guy He set the bar so high and with all his talent, he must become that guy you can depend everytime. Im sure once he hits 27/28, his experience will make him even better. His talent is undisputed, but sometimes some players have more big game mentality and some have less. For example Ivanovic was while good defender, nothing special in wide term of best players in world, but a truly big game man. If Eden becomes that big game player, for all I care he can score 5 goals per season, he will be one of worlds best next to Messi and Ronaldo. IMO Edens mentality is not quite there yet, but he still has few years to truly peak, so he has time.
