Gaffney - when we had a great team, we were "robbed" from the trophy on more than one occasion. but obviosly, u don't take note of that. also defending is as much a part of the game as attacking is.surely, u cant expect chelsea to go up against possibly the best team in history and attack them. even united, real went in defensive against barca. as for bayern, it was at the allianz and di matteo chose to cover their wingers with players who track back. this resulted in a lack of options to pass to in attack but in the odd moments when we did have men forward, we created openings (see drogba almost squaring a tap-in for mata, kalou drive, etc) i know over 120 mins its not enough but in the end u cant say we don't deserve this.

not to mention the squeaky bum time in the group stage. this has been one hell of a ride

i disagree. inexperience doesn't trump 1.fits tactically 2.best chelsea player whenever he has started in last few games 3. can go up and down the left flank all week 4. trusting sturridge or torres there is next to suicidal 5. malouda recovering from injury

i have had enough guys on this forum undermine me for sticking with bertrand. surely you are not another one! bertrand fits this game tactically. the same reason meireles started barcelona. the only con of bertrand starting is inexperience and given how he handled himself at the emirates, i am not too worried because he was going up and down the left flank with relative ease

i think the fact that robben and lahm on the right must have forced him to this decision. cant imagine torres or sturridge helping cole out much

bertrand is starting and deservedly so. we need to contain robben and lahm. + he trained at LM yesterday
