  1. Torres dribbling is knocking the ball 10 metres ahead and chasing it. more often than not, an opposition player gets a foot in. but i dont think we can get Falcao in January. Falcao in the summer makes more sense. wish we could loan Villa or someone just for 6 months
  2. i would add a centreback as well. can't trust terry's body to hold much longer.
  3. The factors which will stop us from challenging for the title this season 1. Torres 2. Lack of replacement for Torres
  4. true. the season is going just about according to plan. no real concerns yet.
  5. tbh, we are riding on individual brilliance. you saw how shakhtar played. well drilled and clever off the ball running to create space and shoot. we are exactly the opposite of that. static on the attack. playing the ball to feet. lack of off-the-ball movement. we are nowhere near full capacity but 1/3rds into the season, I worry if we'll ever reach the full capacity this season
  6. Manchester United - struggling at Villa Park, send Hernandez on. 3-2 Manchester City - struggling against Spuds, send Dzeko on. 2-1 Chelsea's real problem is a lack of a Plan B. the 4-2-3-1 system is our only system. we have the flexibility to change but we didn't use pre-season to train in other formations (except for the Brighton game where we played a 4-3-3). so if we are stuck against any team, we don't have a real option to change the way we play. a quality striker was needed for a sustained title challenge
  7. nah. we can't "Criticise" the board atm.. We have turned over a profit (deducting a 67mil loss) and the season is going according to plan. Sure we've hit a few wobbles recently but no need to criticise the board. We had a wobble in September (Atletico, QPR, Juve) and recovered well. We have a good team with good depth and are playing quality football. a little porous at the back i suppose but the Board can't do anything about that. the torres persistence seems to put off ppl but apart from that, there is no reason to criticise the board
  8. Surprised to see lot of votes for Hughton to get the sack. he's got the team organised and are now gradually climbing up the table
  9. Berbatov has been quality today. that's what a striker should do, Fernando!
  10. Ah. Wenger finally had some sense kicked into him. Walcott has started tonight. hoping for le Arse and Fulham to draw and Villa to hold United later on. No hope of Villa cleansheet. just hoping Bent(eke) takes the few chances he gets
  11. the Champions League winnings was a jackpot
  12. Liverpool have this habit of doing well in the bigger games. we'll have to do well to beat them
  13. it doesn't end with the pointless forays up the pitch. he has made most fouls among our defenders. i know he is the aggressor but 19 fouls in 12 appearances is a bit too much. Cahill on the other hand has made just 4 fouls in 8 appearances. Big difference
  14. it's not fair to criticise the board in the comfort of our armchairs. they have done exceptionally well to rebuild the team around the summer. we've to credit them for that. but i agree with the points you've put up. there are still problems existing in the side but the season is going according to plan atm. at the start of the season, we weren't really in the title picture and now we are talkin abt a title challenge. we are on the right track to negotiating a tough CL group (after last night) and the team has played good football. i've got no complaints
  15. Among the 2 Central defenders, Cahill is clearly much more Reliable than Luiz. that's 3 solid performances from Cahill now. no point saying Luiz is better when he keeps getting turned and makes rash challenges every game
  16. good going forward but exposed at the back.
  17. the thing that's holding us back is this moral obligation to give di matteo a chance. he's been doing well so far and i think if di matteo can keep this up he should be kept in charge but imo, guardiola is the better Long-term plan.
  18. Nothing radical needed. this season is going according to plan. anything more than a 3rd place finish would be a bonus because at the start of the season we weren't actually prominent in the title picture.
  19. true. we have a direct replacement for Cole (Bertrand), now it's time to start thinking about a replacement for Terry. Still i would like to have Kalas and/or Bruma around because we need to have good backup in defence. if we were hit by a defensive injury crisis like united now, i think we would be well and truly screwed
  20. fair point. both aren't anywhere near the world's best and when they play together, our defence is very distorted. i would have loved to have had depth in the CB department this season, maybe a Kalas or a Bruma but for now, we should get through wiith this. Luiz faces the public hate because of his obvious mistakes but we as chelsea fans should read more into his game. he makes very nifty interceptions and breaks up play. but the fact remains, he has conceded more fouls and made less tackles this year than the other defenders. cahill hasn't exactly been great but he has done well against newcastle (august), united (league cup) and swansea recently. his positioning has been suspect throughout his chelsea career although he was excellent against swansea but i think having Michu for a striker helped a lot there. edit: No point pointing fingers at each other. luiz and cahill both aren't World class and that is an inconvenient fact
  21. i thought the defence bar Ashley Cole was excellent. although i would have loved to see us win the ball back rather than line up behind the ball and hope for a misplaced pass
  22. poor performance as expected. cant afford to let this snowball into a bad run of games that usually ruins the season
