  1. Cahill was poor. Not particularly solid and uncomfortable with Luiz. total defensive breakdown at times. Long and Morrison were incisive in their link-up. David Luiz was also poor. But that's what i expect out of him now. Any decent centre forward can turn him inside out and his lapses of concentration is costing the club points. no point defending his ability if he keeps making mistakes EVERY single game
  2. terry-Luiz hasn't been tested enough to say that they are "solid" and cahill-luiz is just codswallop. we need to have a stable partnership at the back. i believe the chopping and changing has also affected the defence. it's not just luiz. luiz has made basic errors but none of the partnerships in defence is actually good. we need a good defender and soon.
  3. without luiz, the back Four has defended as unit. we barely let in a shot on target until Suarez corner goal and the 2 cb's were excellent handling the pace of the Swansea attackers. rather unfortunate that they have no clean-sheets to show for the 2 performances nonetheless , the defensive work has been great these last two games
  4. The thing with luiz, he has better potential than all our other defenders but at the same time he should be solid whenever he plays. yes, he wins the ball back and all that but his ratio of winning the ball back to making a rash challenge is still high. everyone thought that by now, he would have settled and transformed into a solid Ball-Winning centre-back but sadly the basic errors still undo all the work he puts in
  5. nah. Wigan, Stoke, QPR are hardly a challenge. Luiz-Terry did not play against Newcastle, our first tough game and made errors against Arsenal - dropped way too deep for the Gervinho goal. Swansea away and Liverpool home are far tougher and Ivan-Cahill and Terry-Iva, Cahill-Ivan were very solid. we defended as a unit
  6. Notice how the defence in the last two games has been markedly better with no Luiz there. Luiz should sit out a couple of games and should know that his place in the team is not a given. As for the amigos, I'd bring in Moses for one of the amigos. that's all. maybe use Marin late on for Hazard and keep people fresh for the Juve trip
  7. would play Mata instead of Hazard. the team is a headless chicken without Mata. He missed 2 games and we couldn't break down the opposition both times - QPR and Swansea (Moses set-piece header not withstanding). he drives the midfield forward
  8. twitter. some fans saying he played on injured because all the subs were used
  9. Gareth McAuley for Northern Ireland picked up a knock. defence unsettled
  10. Options we need to explore 1. Edinson Cavani - Beast 2. Radamel Falcao - Beast 2.0 3. Robert Lewandowski 4. Edin Dzeko 5. David Villa (?) - short term loan
  11. The goal ratio is rather worrying. Our midfield and defence scores a lot of goals but the responsibility of goal-scoring should be handled by the striker. In games where we don't create lot of chances, that's where Torres should score. Torres' goals this season have come from set-pieces, offside tap-ins etc. maybe the goal against Newcastle was the only goal where he genuinely converted a half-chance whereas van Persie, Tevez, Ba etc are converting half-chances for their teams with ease. that usually makes all the difference in the league. I am still waiting to see Torres take charge and bully the opposition defence in a Big game
  12. a 1-off affair like the Super Cup. possible to host in Monaco but the stadium is only 18k in capacity and i have weird memories of a long-haired Colombian raping our defence there but surely there are few other possible venues. it will globalise the game if the venue keeps moving and gives people of different countries a chance to watch the world's best. South Africa - good facilities, Brazil, Australia, USA are possible venues.
  13. true but no sense in playing CWC in just 1 location every year. i think the game can be globalised if the venue keeps shifting. maybe Tokyo-Sydney-Sao Paolo-Paris
  14. those Japanese lot care more about Pokemon than football. why bother going all the way there? they could play the CWC in a more attractive location edit: no offense to any Japanese member on the forum(if there are any) i am pissed about chelsea going half way across the world than anything else
  15. true. but we'll be in a fix of our own. the Club World Cup, where is it held this time? Dubai? or Tokyo? The Premier League did not agree to reschedule our game against Sunderland right before the CWC. we'll have to rotate a lot then. use the likes of Marin, Moses, Sturridge
  16. i was looking at the next few fixtures fr ManUre. looks like City away is the only fixture they MIGHT drop points. Norwich, QPR, West Ham, Reading, CITY, Sunderland, Swansea, Newcastle, West Brom
  17. we will be playing catch up in the title race now. united will win their games against norwich, qpr, westham, reading. their only real test this year will be City away and i bet by December we will be about 10 points off the pace.
  18. @Liam_Baggies, Disappointing that. About Lukaku. maybe we'll be needing him in January. we are short of options in attack. and btw, we have been open at the back since around Terry's suspension and now he's out injured. not expecting a cleansheet tbh
  19. Romelu Lukaku - how do you rate him? (better than Long and Odemwingie?) Where do you believe you will finish this season?
  20. I don't think there's any reason to panic right now. The season has gone well so far and maybe 1 squad player is all we sign in January. it's the summer where the squad should/will be perfected. Falcao or Cavani needs to come in
  21. Falcao in January will change the complexion of the title race
  22. yes. we needed to sign a few players in the 25-30 bracket. i hope when the club buys a centre-back/striker, they sign someone in their prime rather than youngsters
