  1. I'd give them Torres and gift-wrap Malouda as well. Not looking forward to this. we are knackered at the moment and i think the likes of Marin, Oscar etc who'll start on Wednesday will have Zero idea of a tumultuous cup-tie. Hope the senior players step up and be counted after that poor performance in Japan
  2. Worst moments 1. Moscow :Nuff said 2. Mourinho sacked : wtf? 3. ManUre this season : livid against clattenburg 4. Iniesta's goal: Hammer Blow 5. That game against QPR : we were f***ing dominating with 9 men!
  3. Henrique has pointed it out. We need a manager actually in charge of transfers etc and I believe no one other than Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho could walk into Chelsea and control all first team affairs under Roman's watch Let us revaluate our objective this season and just finish top 4 regardless of what happens in Europa League, COC, FACup. Pep or Jose in the summer is A MUST to sort our team (bunch of talented individuals) Jurgen Klopp or any other manager mentioned don't stand a chance imo. they would never get total control of first team affairs. Pep or Jose. That's all
  4. Moses and Cahill have been piss poor. Get Azpilicueta and Oscar on. also Oscar for Lampard
  5. guerrero just caught the ball while everyone was playing. surely yellow!
  6. i would say, make CWC every 2 years instead of one and have the 2 UCL winners in the intervening years take part along with 2 teams from each confederation. A straight knockout tournament held in a different country every 2 years. 1. globalises the game 2. chance to play 2 top-tier european teams 3. the trophy will get some meaning if there are more teams and more meaningful matches. 4. rolling the host nation will give a wide range of supporters access to watch top teams it can go like Australia to Singapore to China to Dubai to South Africa to Switzerland(UEFA) to Brazil maybe to USA etc. schedules can be altered for that season. competition will be much more than what it is now and supporters in various countries get to watch the world's top players.
  7. 4pm here. can't watch it sadly. maybe i'll get back for the last half hour
  8. Respect to Moyes. hard to imagine anyone else would state it with such blunt honesty
  9. Stoke team to face Everton: Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilkinson, Huth, Whelan, Etherington, Adam, Nzonzi, Jones, Walters#STKEVE Everton team v Stoke: Howard, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Coleman, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Gibson, Jelavic, Naismith #STKEVE Real test for Everton this.
  10. Newcastle squeezing City with set-piece pressure now. City holding on though. Come on Newcastle! Get the f****** ball to Ba!
  11. weird. i didn't get a notification for this.. anyway, true, lewandowski is a no-go for january. but his contract expires in 2014. this summer, he'll be an on the move. has indicated that he wants to run down his contract. think dortmund will look to sell this summer than lose him for nothin in 2014
  12. was hoping Ben Arfa would be there. to create somethin for Ba edit: Ba - coming as far as the halfway line to collect the ball. Despite Newcastle's bright start, expect ManC to seize control
  13. Perch, Tiote And Vurnon Anita in midfield....Pardew's playing for a draw here.
  14. enough with the Falcao, de Rossi etc. Impossible especially in January. they are tied to the club till 2016-17 and will only leave if we overpay significantly (like torres or luiz) realistically, our options in January - Strikers - Wilfried Bony, Darren Bent, Fernando Llorente, Mauro Zarate, Demba Ba, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Theo Walcott, Robert Lewandowski, - Mids - Joao Moutinho, Lewis Holtby, Mathieu Flamini, Moussa Sissoko, Fernandinho, Ettiene Capoue, Kevin-Prince Boateng and for replacement for JT in the summer - Defenders - Benedikt Howedes, Neven Subotic, Holger Badstuber, Serdar Tasci, Simon Kjaer Spikinho mentioned Xabi Alonso and David Villa - both having less than 2 years left on their contracts. might be possible edit: apart from all this, we have internal options in Essien, de Bruyne, Lukaku, Jeffrey Bruma, McEachran, Chalobah .....
  15. again tied down to contracts. cant see them moving in january on the cheap
  16. benitez is much better but until january reinforcements arrive, we are hopping on one leg. squad has major holes in CM and ST especially
  17. Gibson's long-range shooting technique is just class
  18. you lot have another game before we play again although both Stoke and West Ham away will be a real test. lot of balls will be dumped into the area. jagielka and distin need to win the aerial battle
  19. anyone know a list of good players whose contracts expire this summer? - Huntelaar, Walcott who else?
  20. Nice one Jim! slight problem with my notifications page - clicking on quote or the post someone quoted takes me to the first page of the thread and not the post or the quoted post
  21. except Xabi Alonso, all others have existing long-term deals. Alonso's deal runs out in 2014 but he's 31 now. surely we'll have to overpay to get any of them. Joao Moutinho, Fernandinho, Ettiene Capoue are more realistic targets.
