optimistic from my side. i don't want to see us park the bus with Ramires and Bertrand on the wing

Cech Azpi Ivan JT Cole --Mikel Ramires Oscar Mata Hazard -------Ba Bench:Turnbull Cahill Luiz Lampard Marin Moses Torres Need big performances from the midfielders to do well

i don't think so. i haven't seen him at Genk but at Werder he has been a defensive liability this season. ofcourse he has been played out of position but he doesn't have 'ball-winning' ability.this is from WAGNH "About De Bruyne's defensive skills. He's a more than willing worker, I've yet to really note him failing to track back. He's also pretty good about identifying where to be, and filling the appropriate spaces. Unfortunately that's where my defensive praise of De Bruyne is going to end. He's a terrible tackler at this point, committing fouls or coming up empty on over 3/4 of his attempts to dispossess an opponent. He does seem to realize that he's just very poor in this regard, and doesn't attempt to tackle very often because of it. He also tends to back off and cover space, but doesn't intercept many balls in the process."

my concern is that then we'll be unbalanced defensively. de Bruyne and Mata are already defensive liabilities. while modric is better at harrying around, his ballwinning ability isnt great. agree that attackingwise he would improve the team massively
-
not arguing attacking-wise....
-
attack-wise he'll help but defensively it leaves us exposed especially with Oscar Mata de Bruyne around

Looks Thai to me. Woulda been neater if there was no Red and blue horizontal stripe

This. Exactly this.We caught a glimpse of Verrati in preseason where he made our midfield look bad. Moutinho i think is the more evolved option. there are others like Cabaye or Strootman but i think Moutinho is the best option out there. he rejected Spurs. the fans will surely like him
-
i think the defensive-duties problem here is worsened by our wingers failing to track back. now when you add Mata to it, we have 3 players who focus on attacking apart from the striker. if the pivot were world class, we'd probably get away with it but its hardly world class is it? its weird when in essence he's our best player - Mata
-
he can harry around but his ball winning ability isn't great. no doubt he'd walk into our pivot and improve it. just that if we can get someone who operated deeper, we'll get better defensive securitymeanwhile de Bruyne has been dire with his defending at Werder this season.
-
ball dictator he maybe but his defensive abilities raise question marks. in a team with Mata Oscar Hazard shying away from defensive duties we need strong pivot imo
-
he's playing nice with United. that's weird even for Jose.

would love to give it a go but i have almost no free time now -
Yes. next few games absolutely crucial. can't have Arsenal breathing down our neck in April when we face the tougher games
-
Our remaining games - Fulham(A) , West Ham (H), Southampton (A), Sunderland (H) , Spurs (H), Liverpool (A), Swansea (H), ManU (A), Villa (A) , Everton (H) Spurs - Liverpool (A) , Fulham ( H) , Swansea , Everton(H), Chelsea (A) , ManC(H), Wigan (A), Soton(H), Stoke (A) , Sunderland (H) Arsenal - Everton Swansea (A), Reading (H), West Brom (A), Norwich (H), Fulham (A) , ManU(H), QPR(A), Wigan (H), Newcastle (A) Regardless of Arsenal's relatively easy run-in, 5 points should be a good enough advantage to defend. also Tottenham have a tough run-in and i think 3rd should be easily achievable if we can put away the mid-table teams.
-
oh. still within touching distance. this weekend i hope Liverpool beat Spurs
-
1 point behind Spurs but more importantly FIVE points ahead of Le Arse
-
Spurs win. 5 point gap with ten games to go will be huge. Spurs will wobble if Gareth Bale so much as skins his knee in the park. plus we have spurs at home left. but yeah, Arsenal win will definitely be the worst result from our perspective.

Not telecasted live in India or Asia for that matter. Fox/ESPN somehow think ManU vs Norwich is a bigger deal than CFC vs WBA. i can understand the other channel showing the El Clasico though
-
true. we should try and snap him up ASAP. like Hazard last year
