I would have been fine with Matic in for Kdb being the only January switch before getting in the 'clinical' signings in the summer to complete the team. With all these changes, it is somewhat of a new start at the club from February and, I don't think it was needed at all. KdB was going out and there's no problem with Essien moving on but the others - Bertrand, Ba(?) and Mata (to United)? There will be a nice profit in next year's books but one that was going to be there whether they were sold in January or the summer. Reshaping the squad in January was certainly not the initial plan but for some reason, Jose is making more changes to the team now than in the summer. Maybe he's been unimpressed by those players but I don't like the 'chop and change' mentality that seems to be at the club at every transfer window. You're right with this. For all his talk of developing youth Jose has not taken a single step in that direction so far. No youth player has been used apart from the few minutes Baker got against Derby. Even Kalas and Bertrand, who have spent enough time on loan did not get games. Hopefully things improve but this is one aspect where Jose should be rightly criticised
