Seems pointless - the effort to move out Madueke (after putting in 2.5 years into growing him + when he's approaching his prime years) and bringing in Garnacho/Nwaneri/Fofana and re-starting the process. We are only weakening the first team with this change. The common sense move would be to keep him unless Arsenal stump up 55-60m
There is no replacement in line. Makes less sense to sell for lower price when almost all reported replacements (Garnacho, Fofana, Rogers) are looking more expensive
Don't get the Madueke hate on here. He's our first choice right winger - he's direct, only behind Doku in take-ons, has consistently improved over two years. We will be weakening the squad by letting him go, especially with no replacement in line.
Not as a rigid third choice but would have the security of two senior wingers because Estevao is an unknown quantity. We will only know during the season how he gets on in England.
I would honestly keep Madueke. He’s a winger who works better for Maresca system and don’t see the need to weaken our first team in that area to get a replacement who’s at best the same level
Arsenal going for Eze and Madueke to cover for Odegaard and Saka.
But I don't think it is a given that Noni will accept this trade because it is a WC year and there will never be a scenario where game time at Arsenal with Saka, Nwaneri is going to be more than at Chelsea.
He made a massive difference to the attack with his workrate - to the point we were a toothless team for the months he was out injured.
Temperament and finishing issues were the letdown but Jackson is a good player and you can see that in many clubs lining up to buy him.
Instantly undermines all the work we put in to make Noni a Premier League regular. I actually think the interest in him is not surprising and we should really keep him for continuity. Works well as a winger in Maresca's system.
Until last week the brief was we will do minimum incomings - GK, CB, LW, ST
But every transfer window, do the directors get a high out of getting involved in the market?
