We will have the same striker depth problems if Joao Pedro is the striker we are getting in the summer. Does the club know we have Nkunku Felix Sterling etc to ship still ?
Hopefully this story turns out to be bogus
Even with Enzo around, the team looked like it was missing that midfielder who links the midfield and attack, and is extremely good in doing pass sequences that help get through low blocks - Odegaard/ KDB/ Kroos kind of midfielder. Worth going into the market for one regardless of Enzo's situation
Even without UCL, serious players have come here - Caicedo for example. Would help no doubt but it is possible to challenge in the market because a first-team role at Chelsea is still desirable and English club budget is far higher than some leagues.
Osimhen is 26 and the data for him is in his prime years unlike guys like Sesko. His best season was also in Turkey, which is worse than the Portuguese league. Gyokeres and Sesko look like they'll be cheaper than Osimhen and will ask for much lesser wages too
Delap, Ekitike, Cunha are all going to be much more affordable than Osimhen. For the fee + wages, I'd want a sure-fire top striker and not someone who has a lot of doubts around him. I'd be happy spending that kind of money on Isak for example.
Stay clear of Osimhen. So many better strikers could move this summer - Gyokeres, Isak, Ekitike, Alvarez, Joao Pedro, Cunha, David, Delap, Sesko. Osimhen had very few good seasons at the top level, why is he worth big fee + huge wages again?
Links to Garnacho, Mainoo, Brathwaite, Adeyemi worry me. Doesn't seem like the club is going to get a serious CB and a forward with the consistent links to Huijsen, Hato and several other youngsters.
