The big investment of this summer is going to be Gittens and Joao Pedro for little over 100m. Doubt we try for a bigger deal.

Watching him for the first time in game conditions vs Botafogo right now. He's playing on the left and has been quiet + not as comfortable on this side. But have to say his workrate is high and he's seriously good on the ball - Palmeiras basically turn to him all the time and he wants the ball all the time - which is a great sign - an 18 year old becoming a mainstay in attack. We should treat him like Pep treated Foden for years or Yamal in Barca in 23-24 or Nwaneri at Arsenal last season. Have him on rotation and gradually increase gametime as he becomes familiar with the league.

There is only a small band of elite players available in the market and on the move. 15 sounds about right! It would be useful to have one more quality player behind the striker and take the burden off Palmer to do something when we are stuck against low blocks. I would however go to Palace for Eze for the price quoted for Joao Pedro.

I wouldn't say it is a priority and think bringing Veiga into the fold is a solid idea. He seemed like a well built defender + composed on the ball. A right-sided CB signing + Colwill/Veiga at LCB with Veiga providing cover for LB sounds good to me.

I would take a discount Malick Fofana over a big investment on Gittens. Save the big money for a player that is irresistible - Rogers, Xavi Simons, Barcola
