The guy loved Liverpool and I am sure he never thought in his wildest dreams that he would be the manager of Chelsea.After the Rdm sacking,the club needed a quick short term solution and Benitez fit the bill perfectly.The Spaniard hadn't managed a top club for years and never got really good offers from any top club after his stint at Inter Milan.He was a desperate qualified manager and the club needed a quick solution after getting rejected by Pep. Results have been good under him and if he wins us the Premier League title or at least two cup trophies then well I wouldn't mind him on a full time basis.(considering the lack of fan support)

Perhaps Lukaku may not be the perfect kind of competition for Torres but if we offer the Belgian the same intended match time we plan on to give Ba or any other reported striker then I feel he would succeed.

Chelsea must convince Lukaku to come back in January by ensuring him that they will not sign another striker in the winter transfer window.Reassurance of regular game time may help Lukaku reconsider his decision.We will never be in such a striker situation again and imo this is his best opportunity to succeed. Summer transfer window will see us having 3 strikers- 1)Some expensive world class striker-Falcao/Cavani . OR Torres staying because of a continuous good run of form.(unlikely but maybe possible) 2) Some striker we BUY in the winter transfer window.-Ba,Negredo or someone. 3)Lukaku It will be harder for him to be the main man and then he will complain about lack of game timeReturning to Chelsea will give him the chance to play with his future team mates and develop a quicker understanding of their playing style. The whole point of the loan move was to give him some game time and the chance to show his potential so that he could he get in the first team of Chelsea.He's done fairly well at WBA,well enough to get the role of a second striker at Chelsea.So don't understand why he wants to stay at wba,really hope that he changes his mind.

The main aim for us this transfer season is to get our deals done as soon as possible.Ba with the release clause can make this happen but if this transfer is going to get dragged till the second or third week of January then there is no point getting him. I've been saying in the other threads that we should make Lukaku reconsider his decision of staying at WBA.Lukaku would get the same opportunity that we are planning to give Ba and so there wouldn't be any issue of lack of game time.There would be no need of paying any amount for a striker we really need and the deal would be done straight away. This according to me is the best option.

Recalling Lukaku would be only successful if the club sticks with 2 center forwards and don't decide to bring in another striker.Lukaku would get much more game time here as there is no chance of Torres starting every game of the second half of the season.There's also the opportunity of Lukaku playing in Europe,something which WBA can't offer him this season. Lukaku should seriously reconsider and come back to the club.Why wait till next season to really get the chance to play for the club he loves so much when he can start in January itself.

Lukaku would have benefited coming back in January.He would have thrived with the service we have now and could have really established a start to his Chelsea career.Its not always that you have a striker crisis at Chelsea Fc and this situation would have been his opportunity to kickstart his career at this club.
