Just like when we turn Mourinho over at the Bridge. Jekyll and Hyde situation here.
-
It's all ifs and buts, no? Hazard started OK but faded away. Wasn't doing anything to justify staying on. When he had chances to shoot, he doesn't take them. Didn't fare much better in 1 v 1s either.
-
Hazard is immune to everything, isn't he?

That was shit and predictable. The players turned up for the midweek Champions League match but then went back to bottling a Premier League game. Could be 5 points behind 4th by the time we kick off at Man City next Sunday, which looks very likely with Liverpool and Spurs facing Newcastle and Huddersfield at home respectively. Bossed United in that first half but never pressed home the advantage and let them back in through stupid mistakes. And what about Conte? Mourinho tweaked things at HT and Conte didn't. Was proactive even trying to change things when it was clear we weren't dominant anymore. Only reacted after going down, as always.

Don't think so. Got back up almost straight away and hence why Atkinson probably didn't bother to stop play. Should have just stayed down!

You are right there but the point I was trying to make is that they captained Chelsea (captain in Cahill's case) but one player drew far more reaction than the other after being dropped by the manager. Given Conte's dodgy team selections this season, I'm not 100% sure if he's had enough with Cahill. His CB selections in the upcoming big games will be telling.
-
Says a lot about Cahill that even with Conte not playing him half of the time, no one has said anything in the media. No reaction. No nothing. Huge contrast to when Benitez refused to play Terry.

Conte may not be the best in managing young players out there but it's reassuring and nice to see he has confidence in Christensen, even after the mistake against Barcelona. If Mourinho was still our manager and Christensen made that mistake, we would probably never see him in the team again!
-
Looks like Torres will be leaving Atletico at the end of the season. Sign him up!
-
Worth remembering that Donnarumma's agent is that pesky Mino Raiola. Will probably have to pay a fortune of agent fee on top of the transfer fee to buy him.
-
Main thing about this game is whether the players will be up for it. They made the right noises before the Barcelona game and based on the performance on Tuesday night, they were definitely up for it and wanted to win. Whether they will feel motivated for this big but less glamorous than the Champions League match remains to be seen. We have seen this team put in good performances against the big sides and also some horrendous performances this season.

Based on this season and don't think I'm being biased, I'd say Christensen. While Stones has improved from last season, still think he's prone to making mistakes in defence.

If Van Gaal was still in charge of United, he would have been criticized till no end for the poor performances. Yet because it's Mourinho, he's been getting somewhat of a free pass for them. Some, like Gary Neville, can even find excuses to defend Mourinho.
-
Yes, the False 9 formation has produced more negative results than positive ones in the past but to put Tuesday's game plan down to luck is just pure stupid. It's not as if Conte just threw the players and asked them go play against Barcelona. He would have planned and prepared the team to the tiniest of details. To not give him any sort of credit for getting things right is pathetic.

Injured his hamstring after attempting a backheel. Don't want to be cruel but it was kinda funny.
-
Should do that as a F U to Courtois for not signing a new contract.
-
Hardly makes the headlines but Rudiger has been quietly impressive for us. Was solid last night and I've been saying this a lot, there's such a big difference between playing Rudiger and Cahill in the LCB position. The former is strong, solid and far quicker, mobile than the latter. Not afraid to be adventurous as well when the opportunity presents itself. Same can't be said about Cahill in those situations.
-
Thibaut Courtois happy at Chelsea but agent would talk to Real Madrid He's at it again!
-
He had miscued a pass across the back earlier in the game which went out for a corner. Silly to do it again especially when there were so many Barca players around our penalty area then. Would rather he just whacked the ball forward and lost possession than what he did. At least the former would allow us to get back into defensive shape.
