  1. Wouldn't rule out one of them staying if we can't get anyone suitable at all.
  2. That rumor was started by Daily Mirror...
  3. You don't think we'll go for another striker if we don't sign Haaland?
  4. But how will you react if we don't sign Haaland (which has a possibility of it not happening at all)? 👀
  5. Unless someone has a bloody proof that is the case, I really can't fathom why people are choosing to stick with a conspiracy theory. Is it because Ziyech is an easy target due to his situation at the club? Just because we just won the Champions League, it doesn't give us a god's given right to expect players should be choosing us over other clubs, regardless of whether it's PSG or not. If the reports are true - in that the club only tried to offer cash + player and didn't push hard for the deal compared to PSG - then is it any wonder why Hakimi chose them over us? Only one club have made him feel wanted and that club ain't us. It never looked like we got into an advanced negotiation stage with Inter because of our offer. It didn't seem like we were willing to pay up straight cash but wanted to low ball by paying smaller amount of money and offering a deadwood to them. Also, Hakimi's decision could be linked to his wife, who apparently is an actress and often goes to Paris and stays there for an extended period of time. Joining PSG would allow them to be together more often etc.
  6. Yes but RLC was known to have a dodgy back and fitness back then. So one would think Sarri would have not played him, especially given the pitch was an artificial pitch IIRC.
  7. The club organizing the friendly was one thing but no one asked Sarri to play RLC in that game.
  8. Couple of possibilities here: 1. We were interested but not too interested till the point we are desperate to throw close to £70 million for Hakimi. This is the same club that didn't want to pay over £70 million for Van Dijk few years ago and were reluctant to pay £50 million for Chilwell last summer. So maybe the club have a limit on how much they are willing to pay for a defender. 2. The club underestimated Inter's desperation for money? They wanted straight up cash while we tried to offer cash + player but that went out of the window as soon as PSG were willing to just offer cash straight up for Hakimi. It's a bit like last year where no one could really afford anything and we just came in and bought players we had the money. Different case now with some clubs able to spend again.
  9. Augsburg got creative when they announced their league fixtures for next season. 🤣
  10. I don’t disagree with the consistency bit and I was not making an excuse for him at all. Although there aren’t many samples to go off, he was playing arguably his best football and had his most consistent period during that time under Sarri. Hence, I was trying to make the point that that could have been the point where he starts to perform better more regularly but of course, the injury happened, Sarri left and we’re at where we are now. At this point, it’s maybe best he leaves and goes find a club where he can thrive. On a side note, am starting to see a tad too many of ‘hope/maybe Tuchel can perform miracle with this player’ or something along those lines. Brings back bad memories of Conte and his second season.
  11. Don't think anything will come off this...
  12. There were some links around the time when Mourinho got sacked. And think he may also have been linked when Pochettino got the boot 18 months ago.
  13. He has been linked with the Spurs job before, TBF.
  14. TBF, am not sure Southampton really have that much spending power for the manager to bring good players in. Excluding loans, they have bought only 7 players in the last two seasons and one of them was a free transfer. Let's not forget that Southampton were also known for selling their best/better players a few years ago and once that set in, they never really got anywhere, certainly not after the Pochettino and Koeman regimes.
  15. I don't know if the 9-0 losses against Leicester and United are counting against him but am surprised Spurs haven't tried to go for Hasenhuttl. Think he's a good manager. First of all, is Paratici even going to last at Spurs? He has barely been in the job and there already seems to be differing ideas between him and Levy. Is Nuno really known for developing players, especially younger ones? Would say someone like Hasenhuttl has a better track record with that.
  16. https://www.goal.com/en/news/Chelsea-pre-season-plans-return-date-ireland-camp/12h1oi4w9gld61hk2akc15o2j3 "Some insiders close to the situation have described the desire to sign a world-class striker as "complicated"."
  17. No kidding. We sold Tomori to Milan for only around 28 million (yes, there was a buy-out fee that was agreed on but we could have easily put a higher fee but didn't) while Brighton are selling White for 50 million.
  18. #NoToNuno is trending on Twitter. lol
  19. Am guessing Haaland and his camp would be okay with staying at Dortmund for another season? Everything has been quiet from his side, especially Raiola. lol
