  1. You keep making it sound like Werner has the worst technique around when it's not even close. As Stats mentioned above, his technique is underrated. But for argument sake, let's just say his technique isn't very good but why then he can't improve on it? Those players you mentioned weren't exactly born technically gifted. They got better and improved over time. It's also easy to forget that Werner is still only 24 years old and has been improving year in, year out. There's no reason why he can't turn his weaknesses to strengths or make those weaknesses become irrelevant altogether as long as he stays on that trajectory. And another point, we had someone like Costa who was technically average but no one seemed to mind that because he was banging in the goals.
  2. I don't know why people keep on talking like pacey players struggle in the Premier League because there is not much space to use their pace and all that. The likes of Man City, Liverpool all have pacey players but that never stops them from being effective in the league, do they?
  3. Simon Phillips doesn't have his own source? There's nothing legit about this at the moment. Two random Leicester fans mentioned the story and The Times aren't a reliable source, IMO.
  4. How is that a disdainful reply? Why take it so seriously? I certainly wouldn't want either of them here. Bale is pretty much a past-it player already at 31 years old, especially for someone that has relied heavily on his physical attributes including his pace, and I'd question his motivation as well, whether he still has the hunger and desire because even though he has been frozen out, he is content to just stay at Madrid and...play golf. Moreover, you talked about injuries above and yet you suggested Bale, who doesn't have the greatest of injury record at Madrid and has missed like half of their games since joining them. Coutinho makes the more sense out of the two but again, I wouldn't take him. Inconsistent and nothing more than a shoot-from-range merchant. I understand the concerns above but we're already stacked in the attacking areas. Adding another one would just be overkill. Plus, what if Werner, Ziyech etc adapt quickly? We would then have a deadweight in Coutinho sitting on the bench. Even if we pay only 30% of Coutinho's wages - which would still be a lot and I'd rather use that money for other purposes - I'd rather stick to our players and give them the playing time to adapt than have a loanee take up their time and space.
  5. Whenever people think or say we have the worst board in the world, just point at Barcelona.
  6. The average age of the Barcelona players tonight were 30.
  7. NO! JUST FUCKING NO! This is like when people used to say Torres would score many goals when Mata, Oscar, Hazard etc were around. JUST FUCKING SELL THIS DEADWOOD ALREADY!
  8. Coutinho playing against Barcelona. Hansi Flick is a troll.
  9. Can we go throw 200 million at Bayern for Davies!?
  10. Costa has never been the same since 2017. It was a good thing we sold him when we did. And before anyone jumps on this, the problem was we did not find the right replacement for him.
  11. It's beyond me how we only seem to be the ones who see the real Willian, how frustrating he is to watch etc. The pundits, journalists seem to think he's great, world class and all that.
  12. No, can't blame him for going for one last big contract but at the same time, it also shows the lack of loyalty when he essentially went for a bigger contract and not just in terms of the length of contract but also the reported 200k+ p/w wages. From a club's perspective, this is an absolute madness of a deal from Arsenal. Yes, I get that experience is important etc but Arteta talked about building for the future and yet, they offered a 3-year-deal plus over 200k p/w wages to a 32-year-old, who is past it or soon to be past it. And not to mention, they are gonna offer Aubameyang a similar deal as well. How is that building for the future? Have they learned nothing from the Ozil situation?
  13. Wise decision. Knowing the Madrid media, fans and the players, he would have killed his career before it even properly got going. One suspects his next stop might well be Bayern though...
