Just wondering, has anyone here actually watched Reguilon week in week out, throughout the season and not just the last few Sevilla games before his name was suddenly mentioned, to know his strengths and weaknesses? I haven't seen enough of him to know those myself but judging by the reaction on here and elsewhere, you would think he's the second coming of Roberto Carlos or something. Everything is focused only on the positives with Reguilon and then with someone like Chilwell, everything is focused only on the negatives.

You lot talk about Werner like he's some dud from the Danish league or something. And is this a competition or something - Ziyech or Werner to settle in first before the other? Ideally, we would want both to settle in ASAP but as we all know and Lampard has mentioned before, we need to give them some time to settle in.
-
That is strange, considering you pretty much wrote off Pulisic before he even kicked the ball for us...
-
Is that any different to what we have been hearing/reading? We have known for ages that it's about the payment structure and yet, they are taking ages to agree on it! And not to mention, Kevin Palmer knows F all! He's just saying the same stuff that others are saying, same like that wannabe journalist Simon Phillips!

Some of you lot here are acting like angry teenagers.

Would be nice if these teams stop committing stupid challenges inside the box against United. On the other hand, might not be the worst thing for United to go all the way to the final...

Will never believe this until there is something official or he comes out and says it. Barcelona are in a dumpster right now but Messi has threatened to leave on so many occasions in the past, only to stay on every single time.

Still. Bournemouth just got relegated and Sheffield United decided to splash 18 million for their keeper, Aaron Ramsdale. Not sure those who are okay with the Dunk signing have actually seen him week in week out but I feel like the bar has been set so low that people will just take ANY defender and immediately consider them as an improvement because of what we have, when in general, that defender isn't particularly great at all, like Dunk. I also get the comparison with Cahill, but he only cost us less than 10 million and if we're gonna pay 20, 30 million or more for Dunk, then F off! Do we need better central defenders? Yes but at the same time, I feel like all this talk of needing to buy one is a cheap cop-out on Lampard and the coaching staff's part because they can't coach a defence.

For Werner's sake, one would hope not. From a German and non-Bayern fan perspective, would Germans prefer Leipzig or Bayern to win the CL?

That U23/U24 rule for a "Young" Player of the Year award is BS, TBH. It should be U21 at most. Placing restriction on appearances and/or minutes makes no sense because what if that player plays beyond those numbers set? Then what? Asking them to then compete with the more established players for the Player of the Year award is unfair either. In TAA's case, it just so happens that he was promoted at a very young age and has more experience at the senior level than most. Those players you mentioned above - Greenwood, Saka, Mount etc - are the newcomers this season (although Saka did make a PL appearance in 2018/19). Maybe we should have a different award for it.
-
Err, should that not be about age then? Because playing time makes little because TAA played in all 38 league games this season and 3,176 minutes. Not sure how much restriction can you place there.

Apparently, we'll face Southampton at home on the opening day, if this "leak" from the FPL is anything to go by...

There is a difference between thinking outside the box and simply overthinking. Guardiola does both but he commits the latter far too often in the Champions League knockout stages and the results since he last won the whole thing shows it. In domestic games and the Champions League group stages, you rarely see him tinker. He will play his best possible XI and best system and he wins more often than not because of the talent at his disposal. But once he gets to the latter stages of the Champions League these days, he will start throwing out weird lineups, weird XIs - basically deviating from the things that his sides do best. Why? Why for example did he suddenly line up with a back 3 against Lyon all of a sudden? Why didn't he just play his best XI, best system and let the talent of his players do the job against Lyon, as shown by what happened after he ditched the back 3? Guardiola has spent nearly a billion at City to build arguably the best squad in football right now and yet, he still overthinks, experiments with weird lineups like he's playing Football Manager or something.

RB Leipzig are the only side Bayern have not beaten this season.

Still no thanks. There is a reason why no Premier League club have gone for him all these years after Stoke's relegation. Even as a no.2, you want that keeper to be solid, decent and I don't think Butland is that. Moreover, we probably will have a number of turnovers in the playing squad that we don't need another unnecessary one like the backup keeper. Caballero will do just fine for one more season. That 8-10 million could be better used elsewhere right now.

Maybe Guardiola will reach the semis if he actually stops overthinking things...
