After letting both Essien and Meireles in this transfer window, not sure if it is wise to do the same with Malouda now too. Already lacking in options in the central midfield area. Unwise to weaken it any further for now when Malouda is an option in there. Best to keep him at least till January first. Then we shall see how it goes. And even if we switch to 4-3-3, he can be an option in the midfield. Wasn't really effective in there previously but an option nonetheless.

IF we do switch back to the 4-3-3, then Malouda becomes an option and we'll have 6 midfielders in total then. That said, playing Malouda as one of the 3 midfielders in the CM is not going to benefit him or us as that will negate his main strengths.

Can't see how that will work. Midfield will get overrun.

Think what we all want to see is every single one of our players putting in maximum effort and perhaps more after what happened 4 days. There needs to be a positive reaction.

Watched the 2nd half of the Nottingham Forest v Charlton the other day. Thought he did well, allowed nothing to get past him though Charlton were pretty average and didn't exactly threaten too much. However, I do notice that Hutchinson sometimes looks too eager and perhaps going in too strongly when making challenges. A bit risky and dangerous that.

Not even sure if the club is actually thinking of getting him back. They are probably just gonna take the risk and go with what we have now till January at the very least.

Luckily, we got Azpilicueta rather than Van der Wiel aka 'The Dutch Bosingwa'. We dodged a bullet there.

An absolute joke to allow Meireles to leave at this time without being able to find a replacement of sorts at the very least. His departure leaves us in perilous situation in the central midfield area. 1-2 injuries in there and we are screwed!

Not even sure if he can play as one of the two double pivot and is ready to play there. Might need to beef up a bit and be more physical to be able to play there.

To those who said we can cope without Meireles in that midfield area with just Mikel, Lampard, Romeu, Ramires and possibly Oscar, worth remembering that we only had Mikel, Essien, Lampard and Ramires as CMs in the 2010/11 season and we all know what happened back then.

That 1-0 win was in the FA Cup though. We easily trounced them 6-1 at the Bridge.

I am not even sure if RDM is gonna shift Ramires back to CM. All we are doing now is just speculating. And do you have any reliable source to back your persistence claim about we can call Essien back from loan at any time?!
